Ethylene thiourea(ETU)converted from ethylene bisdithiocarbamate(EBDC)fungicides has aroused great concern because of its prevalence and harmful *** ETU-induced neurotoxicity has been reported,the potential mechanisms remain *** study provided insights into its neurotoxic effects at environmentally relevant concentrations in *** findings showed that embryonic exposure to ETU decreased the hatch rate and delayed somite ***,ETU treatment significantly reduced the dark velocity in the locomotion *** upregulated tendency of the mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPK)pathway(mknk1,atf4,mapkapk3)screened by transcriptome analysis implied motor neuron degeneration,which was validated by subsequent morphological observation,as axon length and branches were truncated in the 62.5μg/L ETU ***,although the rescue experiment with a p38 MAPK inhibitor(SB203580)successfully ameliorated axon degeneration,it failed to reverse the locomotion *** exploration of transcriptome data revealed the varied expression of presynaptic scaffold protein-related genes(pcloa,pclob,bsna),whose downregulation might impair the neuromuscular junction(NMJ).Therefore,we reasonably suspected that ETU-induced neurobehavioral deficits might result from the combined effects of the MAPK pathway and presynaptic *** this,we highlighted the necessity to take precautions and early interventions for susceptible ETU-exposed populations.

Next-generation RNA sequencing has been successfully used for identification of transcript assembly,evaluation of gene expression levels,and detection of post-transcriptional *** these large-scale studies,additional comprehensive RNA-seq data from different subregions of the human brain are required to fully evaluate the evolutionary patterns experienced by the human brain ***,we provide a total of 6.5 billion RNA-seq reads fromdifferent subregions of the human brain.A significant correlation was observed between the levels of alternative splicing and RNA editing,which might be explained by a competition between the molecularmachineries responsible for the splicing and editing of *** protein-coding genesdemonstrate biased expression to the neocortical and non-neocortical regions during evolution on the lineage leading to *** found that a significantly greater number of young human protein-coding genes are expressed in the putamen,a tissue that was also observed to have the highest level of RNA-editing *** putamen,which previously received little attention,plays an important role in cognitive ability,and our data suggest a potential contribution of the putamen to human evolution.

Objective:This study aimed to explore the understanding of healthcare providers working in the internal medicine department in Shanghai regarding a good ***:The data of the study was collected using face-to-face semi-structured *** purposive sampling,16 physicians and 13 nurses who had experiences of caring for adult patients with life-threatening illnesses at the end-of-life stage in Shanghai were *** interviews were analyzed using qualitative content ***:Six characteristics of a good death emerged:no suffering,companionship and care,no worries or concerns,dying with dignity,involvement and acceptance,and less impact on the *** categories were identified:dying without experiencing suffering;being relieved of symptoms and suffering;being relieved of psychological suffering;avoiding the use of futile treatment and resuscita-tion;being cared for and accompanied by family;receiving good health care;having a meaningful life without regrets;making good arrangements for family issues;having a chance to say goodbye;having a quality life before death;dying in a decent environment;the personal will to be respected;maintaining the integrity of the body;death of the patient being accepted by the family and healthcare providers;the death occurred despite the best efforts to care for the patient;limited financial and care burden;shortly affected quality of life of the patient;and improved family ***:Family members’early involvement in caring for patients at the end-of-life stage helps achieve a good *** patients with a terminal illness,avoiding unnecessary medical treatment and resuscitation could be the first step in achieving better patient death and promoting the development of advanced care planning in the mainland of China.

Screening of Chemical Control for Potato Blight

In this paper, for the purpose of enhancement in the magnetic behavior, the five-layer Aurivillius phase structure Bi6Fe2-xCoxTi3O18 （BFCT-x, x = 0.0～2.0） ceramics were synthesized using the solid-state reaction method from a mixture of Bi2O3 , Co2O3 , Fe2O3 , and TiO2 powders with different stoichiometric ratio. The microstructure, ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties are investigated. The crystallographic structures of BFCT-x are determined to be the typical five-layer Aurivillius phase with a suggested structural transformation at heavy doping of Co ions. At room temperature, the remnant magnetization （2Mr ） of BFCT-0.0, BFCT-0.6, BFCT-1.0 and BFCT-2.0 samples are 0.043 memu/g, 0.59 emu/g, 0.81 emu/g and 1.75 memu/g, respectively. The 2Mr , at first, gradually enhance and reach a greatest value of 0.81 emu/g at x = 1.0 then degrade again with the increasing of the ratio x. At room temperature, the samples have ferroelectricity, which the remnant polarization （2Pr ） of the BFCT-0.0 , BFCT-0.6, BFCT-1.0 and BFCT-2.0 samples are 2.8 μC/cm2 , 8.0 μC/cm2 , 3.0 μC/cm2 and 7.2 μC/cm2 respectively. The 2Pr first increases, then decreases and increases again with Co doping. When x = 0.6, the 2Pr reaches a maximum value of 8.0 μC/cm2 .

To screen chemicals for controlling potato blight effectively, randomized block experiment was adopted, the control efficiency of five chemicals for Carbendazim, Metalaxyl, Dithane mancozeb, Curzate, Cymoxanil mancozeb was explored. The results showed that the efficiency of Metalaxyl was much better than that of other conventional chemicals in controlling potato blight, up to 70.59% ; the mean control efficiency of Curzate and Cymoxanil mancozeb was 68.76% and 67.05% ; the control efficiency of Carbendazim was lower, 55.76%. Big and middle tuber rate, tuber weight per hole, plot yield, unit area yield of potatoes in Metalaxyl treatment were the highest, 78.05%, 437.24 g/hole, 34.0 kg/21.6 m2 and 15 748.61 kg/hm2, 49.12% higher than the control yield. The indexes of potatoes in Cymoxanil mancozeb treatment were the second highest, 73.33%, 385.31 g/hole, 32.8 kg/21.6 m2 and 15 192.78 kg/hm2, 43.86% higher than the control yield.

Xanthomonas spp. cause severe bacterial diseases. However, effective strategies for prevention and management of these diseases are scarce. Thus, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of control of diseases caused by Xanthomonas. In this study, Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo), which causes rice bacterial leaf blight, has been studied as a representative. A transposon insertion library of Xoo, comprising approximately 200,000 individual insertion mutants, was generated. Transposon sequencing data indicated that the mariner C9 transposase mapped at 35.7–36.4% of all potential insertion sites, revealing 491 essential genes required for the growth of Xoo in rich media. The results show that, compared to the functions of essential genes of other bacteria, the functions of some essential genes of Xoo are unknown, 25 genes might be dangerous for the Xanthomonas group, and 3 are specific to Xanthomonas. High-priority candidates for developing broad-spectrum, Xanthomonas-specific, and environment-friendly bactericides were identified in this study. In addition, this study revealed the possible targets of dioctyldiethylenetriamine using surface plasmon resonance(SPR) in combination with high performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry(HPLC–MS). The study also provided references for the research of some certain bactericides with unknown anti-bacterial mode of action. In conclusion, this study urged a better understanding of Xanthomonas,provided meaningful data for the management of bacterial leaf blight, and disclosed selected targets of a novel bactericide.
