Differences in Precipitation and Related Wind Dynamics and Moisture and Heat Features in Separate Areas of the South China Sea before and after Summer Monsoon Onset

Using surface and balloon-sounding measurements, satellite retrievals, and ERA5 reanalysis during 2011–20, this study compares the precipitation and related wind dynamics, moisture and heat features in different areas of the South China Sea(SCS) before and after SCS summer monsoon onset(SCSSMO). The rainy sea around Dongsha(hereafter simply referred to as Dongsha) near the north coast, and the rainless sea around Xisha(hereafter simply referred to as Xisha) in the western SCS, are selected as two typical research subregions. It is found that Dongsha, rather than Xisha, has an earlier and greater increase in precipitation after SCSSMO under the combined effect of strong low-level southwesterly winds, coastal terrain blocking and lifting, and northern cold air. When the 950-h Pa southwesterly winds enhance and advance northward, accompanied by strengthened moisture flux, there is a strong convergence of wind and moisture in Dongsha due to a sudden deceleration and rear-end collision of wind by coastal terrain blocking. Moist and warm advection over Dongsha enhances early and deepens up to 200 h Pa in association with the strengthened upward motion after SCSSMO, thereby providing ample moisture and heat to form strong precipitation. However, when the 950-h Pa southwesterly winds weaken and retreat southward, Xisha is located in a wind-break area where strong convergence and upward motion centers move in. The vertical moistening and heating by advection in Xisha enhance later and appear far weaker compared to that in Dongsha, consistent with later and weaker precipitation.

Coumarin Modified Rhodamine Derivative： Fluorescent Chemosensor Selectively Recognizing Al^3＋ and Ca^2＋

A fluorescent probe with a coumarin moiety bound to rhodamine 6G hydrazide（l） was synthesized. Its sensing behavior toward various metal ions was investigated with fluorescence methods. Compound I displays different fluorescence emission responses to Al^3＋ and Ca^2＋ at the same excitation wavelength in the visible light region, while no changes occur after the addition of other metal ions. The binding ratios of the complexs of 1-Al^3＋ and 1-Ca^2＋ are both 2：1 according to the Job plot and high resolution mass spectrometer（HRMS） experiments. Moreover, emission spectrum of 1-Ca^2＋ complex and absorption spectrum of the rbodamine dyes overlap largely. When Al^3＋ was added to the 1-Ca2＋ system, calcium in complex 1-Ca2＋ can be displaced by Al^3＋, resulting in the output of another ratiometric sensing signal, which demonstrates that the 1-Ca^2＋ complex can be served as a new and effective fluorescence resonance energy transfer（FRET） donor for rhodamine derivatives.

Removal of multicomponent VOCs in off-gases from an oil refining wastewater treatment plant by a compost-based biofilter system

Waste gases from oil refining wastewater treatment plants are often characterized by the presence of multicomponent and various concentrations of *** evaluation of the performance and feasibility of removing multicomponent volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in off-gases from oil refining wastewater treatment plants was conducted in a pilot-scale compost-based biofilter *** system consists of two identical biofilters packed with compost and polyethylene(PE).This paper investigates the effects of various concentrations of nonmethane hydrocarbon(NMHC)and empty bed residence time(EBRT)on the removal efficiency of *** on the experimental results and practical applications,an EBRT of 66 s was applied to the biofilter *** removal efficiencies of NMHC were within the range of 47%–100%.At an EBRT of 66 s,the average removal efficiency of benzene,toluene,and xylene were more than 99%,99%,and 100%,*** results demonstrated that multicomponent VOCs in off-gases from the oil refining wastewater treatment plant could be successfully removed in the biofilter system,which may provide useful information concerning the design criteria and operation of full-scale biofilters.

Real-time in vivo visualization of tumor therapy by a near-infrared-II Ag2S quantum dot-based theranostic nanoplatform

Real-time and objective feedback of therapeutic efficacies would be of great value for tumor treatment. Here, we report a smart Ag2S QD-based theranostic nanoplatform （DOX@PEG-Ag2S） obtained by loading the anti-cancer drug doxorubicin （DOX） into polyethylene glycol-coated silver sulfide quantum dots （PEG-Ag2S QDs） through hydrophobic-hydrophobic interactions, which exhibited high drug loading capability （93 wt.% of DOX to Ag2S QDs）, long circulation in blood （t1/2 = 10.3 h）, and high passive tumor-targeting efficiency （8.9% ID/gram） in living mice where % ID/gram reflects the probe concentration in terms of the percentage of the injected dose （ID） per gram of tissue. After targeting the tumor tissue, DOX from PEG-AgRS cargoes was selectively and rapidly released into cancer cells, giving rise to a significant tumor inhibition. Owing to the deep tissue penetration and high spatio-temporal resolution of Ag2S QDs fluorescence in the second near-infrared window （NIR-II）, the DOX@PEG-Ag2S enabled real-time in vivo reading of the drug targeting process and therapeutic efficacy. We expect that such a novel theranostic nanoplatform, DOX@PEG-Ag2S, with integrated drug delivery, therapy and assessment functionalities, will be highly useful for personalized treatments of tumors.

Diffusion process for efficiency improvement with high sheet resistance on traditional production lines of solar cell

By optimizing the diffusion temperature and time,four groups of samples with different sheet resistances are *** front screen printing pattern and firing temperature are fine-tuned according to the *** performance of the low-and-plateau-temperature doping recipe(as recipe A)is better than that of the low-and-multiple-temperature doping recipe(as recipe B).And the 19.24%efficiency of volume production of monocrystalline solar cells with 238.95 mm2 and 80?/sq sheet resistance is obtained in the traditional process line.0.48%more efficiency is achieved than 60?/sq due to the reduction of the phosphorus surface doping and shallow junction by the low-and-plateau-temperature diffusion *** module test shows that by using two drive-in zones,not only do we have a higher efficiency,but also have a stabler and lower power loss in encapsulation *** is showed that power of a large improvement will be gotten by statistical analysis and PC1D simulation.

Photothermal catalytic oxidation emerges as a promising method for the removal of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).Herein,via sol-gel impregnation method,spinel CuMn_(2)O_(4)was coated on attapulgite honeycombs with integrating biochar(BC)film as the second carrier,using chestnut shell as complexation *** mass ratios of CuMn_(2)O_(4)to chestnut shell was modulated to investigate the catalytic toluene degradation *** indicated that the monolithic CuMn_(2)O_(4)/BC/honeycomb catalyst demonstrated superior photothermal catalytic toluene degradation with a low T90(temperature at 90%degradation)of 263℃ when the mass ratio of CuMn_(2)O_(4)to biomass was 1:*** addition of BC film substantially increased the honeycomb's specific surface area and improved the photothermal conversion of spinel,leading to enhanced photothermal catalytic *** study presents a cost-effective strategy for eliminating industrial VOCs using clay-biomass based monolithic catalyst.

Facile synthesis of the Mn_(3)O_(4)polyhedron grown on N-doped honeycomb carbon as high-performance negative material for lithium-ion batteries

Because of their large volume variation and inferior electrical conductivity,Mn_(3)O_(4)-based oxide anode materials have short cyclic lives and poor rate capability,which obstructs their *** this study,we successfully prepared a Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon composite using a smart and facile synthetic *** Mn_(3)O_(4)nanopolyhedra are grown on N-doped honeycomb carbon,which evidently mitigates the volume change in the charging and discharging processes but also improves the electrochemical reaction *** importantly,the Mn-O-C bond in the Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon composite benefits electrochemical *** features of the Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon(NHC)composite are responsible for its superior electrochemical *** used for Li-ion batteries,the Mn_(3)O_(4)/N-doped honeycomb carbon anode exhibits a high reversible capacity of 598 mAh·g^(−1)after 350 cycles at 1 A·g^(−1).Even at 2 A·g^(−1),the Mn_(3)O_(4)/NHC anode still delivers a high capacity of 472 mAh·g^(−1).This work provides a new prospect for synthesizing and developing manganese-based oxide materials for energy storage.
