Summer Atmospheric Water Cycle under the Transition Influence of the Westerly and Summer Monsoon over the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin in the Southern Tibetan Plateau

This study compares the summer atmospheric water cycle,including moisture sources and consumption,in the upstream,midstream,and downstream regions of the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin in the southern Tibetan *** evolutions of moisture properties under the influence of the westerly and summer southerly monsoon are examined using 5-yr multi-source measurements and ERA5 reanalysis *** that moisture consumption in this study is associated with clouds,precipitation,and diabatic *** to the midstream and downstream regions,the upstream region has less moisture,clouds,and precipitation,where the moisture is brought by the *** early August,the vertical wet advection over this region becomes enhanced and generates more high clouds and *** midstream region has moisture carried by the westerly in June and by the southerly monsoon from July to *** higher vertical wet advection maximum here forms more high clouds,with a precipitation peak in early *** downstream region is mainly affected by the southerly-driven wet *** rich moisture and strong vertical wet advection here produce the most clouds and precipitation among the three regions,with a precipitation peak in late *** height of the maximum moisture condensation is different between the midstream region(325 hPa)and the other two regions(375 hPa),due to the higher upward motion maximum in the midstream *** diabatic heating structures show that stratiform clouds dominate the upstream region,stratiform clouds and deep convection co-exist in the midstream region,and deep convection systems characterize the downstream region.

Wave separation for the great Sumatra-Andaman earthquake with regional seismic array

We analyzed the seismic waveforms from the December 26, 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake recorded at broadband seismic stations in western Europe. Previous studies involving of the beam-forming technique and high frequency analysis suggest that the earthquake ruptured with a duration of around 500 s. This very long duration makes P wave overlap with later arrivals such as PP wave, which follows P in about 200 s. Since P waves are crucial for modeling earthquake processes, we propose an iterative method to separate P and PP waveforms. The separated P waveform confirms a second large energy release around 300 s after the initial rupture. The iterative signal separation technique is particularly useful for mixed signals that are not independent and the number of recording stations far exceeds number of mixed signal sources.

Effect of SrO Content on Structure,Thermal Properties and Chemical Stability of Bi2O3-B2O3-ZnO-SrO Low-melting Glass for Si-Al Alloy Package

The 40Bi2O3-30B2O3-(30-x)ZnO-xSrO (x=0-15mol%,BBZSr) glass system was prepared by the conventional melt quenching *** effect of SrO addition on structure,thermal properties,chemical stability and sealing performance of BBZSr glass were investigated *** experimental results show that the total proportions of [BO3] group and [BO4] group decrease and the vibrations of [BiO3] group and [BiO6] group become weaker with the increase of SrO addition content,suggesting the glass network structure is strengthened owing to the SrO ***,both the thermal and chemical stability were significantly improved as the SrO content was *** the SrO content increased from 0 to 15mol%,the glass transition temperature and softening temperature slightly increased from 380 to 388 ℃ and from 392.7 to 402.2 ℃,respectively,meanwhile the coefficient of thermal expansion also increased from 10.49×10^-6 to 11.16×10^-6/℃ (30-300 ℃).The BBZSr glass with 15mol% SrO exhibited excellent comprehensive properties with low glass transition temperature(384.9 ℃),low softening temperature(400.3 ℃),high coefficient of thermal expansion (11.14×10^-6 ℃,30-300 ℃),good thermal and chemical ***,the glass had the good wetting behavior and sealing performance for Al-50%Si alloy.

This paper presents a theoretical analysis of vibration control technology of wind turbine blades made of piezoelectric intelligent *** design of the blade structure,which is made from piezoelectric material,is approximately equivalent to a flat shell *** differential equations of piezoelectric shallow shells for vibration control are derived based on piezoelectric laminated shell *** this basis,wind turbine blades are simplified as elastic piezoelectric laminated *** establish the electromechanical coupling system dynamic model of intelligent structures and the dynamic equation of composite piezoelectric flat shell structures by analyzing simulations of active vibration *** results show that,under wind load,blade vibration is reduced upon applying the control voltage.

In vitro evaluation of degradation,cytocompatibility and antibacterial property of polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite composite coating on bioresorbable magnesium alloy

Polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite(PCL/HA)composite coating was fabricated by a combination of hydrothermal and dipping methods to delay the degradation of Mg alloy AZ31 as bioresorbable *** PCL/HA coating was composed of nano rod-shape HA crystals and PCL filled in the space of HA *** with the single HA coating,the binding strength between the PCL/HA composite coating and Mg alloy was obviously improved and the PCL/HA coating still adhered to the surface of AZ31 substrate even after 38 days of *** electrochemical corrosion rate of HA coated sample was reduced by ten times after being filled by *** electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and immersion test results showed that the PCL/HA composite coating could provide a more effective barrier for Mg substrate than the HA coating *** cytocompatibility and the antibacterial property of HA coating and PCL/HA coating were evaluated by culturing with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)for 24 h under direct culture conditions,*** PCL/HA composite coating showed better BMSC cell compatibility,more suitable for BMSC adhesion than HA coating alone and showed a potential application prospect as a biological ***,from the perspective of clinical applications,the antibacterial property of PCL/HA composite coating needs to be further improved.

Optimized Design of H-Type Vertical Axis Wind Airfoil at Multiple Angles of Attack

Numerical simulations are conducted to improve the energy acquisition efﬁciency of H-type vertical axis wind turbines through the optimization of the related blade airfoil aerodynamic *** Bézier curve is initi-ally used toﬁt the curve proﬁle of a NACA2412 airfoil,and the moving asymptote algorithm is then exploited to optimize the design of the considered H-type vertical-axis wind-turbine blade airfoil for a certain attack *** results show that the maximum lift coefﬁcient of the optimized airfoil is 8.33%higher than that of the original *** maximum lift-to-drag ratio of the optimized airfoil exceeds the maximum lift-to-drag ratio of the ori-ginal airfoil by 11.22%.Moreover,the power coefﬁcient is increased by 12.19%and the torque coefﬁcient of the wind turbine is signiﬁcantly improved.

Superhydrophobic fluoride conversion coating on bioresorbable magnesium alloy——fabrication,characterization,degradation and cytocompatibility with BMSCs

A micro-nano structure CaF_(2)chemical conversion layer was prepared on fluoride-treated AZ31 alloy,then the composite fluoride conversion film(CaF_(2)/MgF_(2))was modified by stearic acid(SA)and fabricated a superhydrophobic *** fluoride-treated magnesium,fluoride conversion film and superhydrophobic coating were characterized by SEM,EDS,XRD and *** properties of coatings1 adhesion and corrosion resistance were evaluated via tape test and electrochemical *** cytocompatibility of the MgF_(2),CaF_(2)and superhydrophobic CaF_(2)/SA surface was investigated with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)by direct culture for 24 *** results showed that the superhydrophobic fluoride conversion coating composed of inner MgF_(2)layer and the outer CaF_(2)/SA composite layer had an average water contact angle of 152°.SA infiltrated into the micro-nano structure CaF_(2)layer and formed a strong adhesion with CaF_(2)***,the super-hydrophobic coating showed higher barrier properties and corrosion resistance compared with the fluoride conversion film and fluoride-treated AZ31 *** BMSC adhesion test results demonstrated MgF_(2)CaF_(2)and CaF_(2)/SA coatings were all nontoxic to *** the condition of in direct contact with cells,MgF_(2)showed higher cell density and enhanced the BMSCs proliferation,while CaF_(2)and CaF_(2)/SA coating showed no statistically difference in cell density compared with glass reference but the CaF_(2)and CaF_(2)/SA coating were not conducive to BMSCs adhesion.

Significantly improved corrosion resistance of Mg-15Gd-2Zn-0.39Zr alloys: Effect of heat-treatment

The effects of heat-treatment on corrosion behavior of Mg-15Gd-2Zn-0.39Zr alloys were investigated through microstructure characterization, corrosion tests, and scanning Kelvin probe force microscope(SKPFM) analysis. In long-term corrosion experiments, the corrosion rates of Mg-Gd-Zn-Zr alloys were mainly determined by the effects of micro-galvanic corrosion. During heat-treatment, the β-(Mg,Zn)3Gd eutectic phase in as-cast alloys transformed into a long-period stacking ordered(LPSO) phase, coupled with the precipitation of small precipitates. As heat-treatment proceeded, the local potential and the volume fraction of the LPSO phases reduced gradually compared with the eutectic phase, which resulted in a remarkable decrease of the micro-galvanic effect between the second phase and Mg matrix. As a result, the corrosion resistance of heat-treated alloys improved significantly.
