Transient heat conduction problems widely exist in *** previous work on the peridynamic differential operator(pDDO)method for solving such problems,both time and spatial derivatives were discretized using the pDDO method,resulting in increased complexity and programming *** this work,the forward difference formula,the backward difference formula,and the centered difference formula are used to discretize the time derivative,while the pDDO method is used to discretize the spatial *** new schemes for solving transient heat conduction equations have been developed,namely,the forward-in-time and pDDO in space(FT-pDDO)scheme,the backward-in-time and pDDO in space(BT-pDDO)scheme,and the central-in-time and pDDO in space(CT-pDDO)*** stability and convergence of these schemes are analyzed using the Fourier method and Taylor’s *** show that the FT-pDDO scheme is conditionally stable,whereas the BT-pDDO and CT-pDDO schemes are unconditionally *** stability conditions for the FT-pDDO scheme are less stringent than those of the explicit finite element method and explicit finite difference *** convergence rate in space for these three methods is *** constructed schemes are applied to solve one-dimensional and two-dimensional transient heat conduction *** accuracy and validity of the schemes are verified by comparison with analytical solutions.

Although rare earth zirconates(rE_(2.Zr_(2.O_(7))have garnered attention as viable candidates for thermal barrier coatings(TBCs),they suffer from low fracture toughness and accelerated calcium–magnesium–alumina–silicate(CMAS)melt corrosion at high service temperatures,which impedes their practical *** this work,we developed a series of rEAlO_(3)/rE_(2.Zr_(2.O_(7)(rE=La,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,and Dy)composites with a eutectic composition that not only significantly enhanced the fracture toughness by more than 40%relative to that of rE_(2.Zr_(2.O_(7)but also exhibited improved resistance to CMAS *** increase in toughness arises from multiple mechanisms,such as ferroelastic toughening,fine-grain strengthening,and residual stress toughening,all of which trigger more crack defects and energy ***,the CMAS penetration depth of the rEAlO_(3)/rE_(2.Zr_(2.O_(7)composites is approximately 36%lower than that of rE_(2.Zr_(2.O_(7).Al–O constituents in composites can capture CaO,SiO_(2.,and MgO in CMAS melts and increase their viscosity,resulting in enhanced CMAS corrosion *** thermophysical properties of the rEAlO_(3)/rE_(2.Zr_(2.O_(7)composites were also investigated,and their coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity are comparable to those of 7–8 wt%Y_(2.O_(3)partially stabilized ZrO2.YSZ),indicating their potential as TBC materials.

Explosive cyclones(ECs)occur frequently over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension *** most rapidly intensified EC over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region during the 42.years(1979-2.2.)of cold seasons(October-April)was studied to reveal the variations of the key factors at different explosive-developing *** EC had weak low-level baroclinicity,mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection,and strong low-level water vapor convergence at the initial explosive-developing *** low-level baroclinicity and mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection increased substantially during the maximum-deepening-rate *** diagnostic analyses using the Zwack-Okossi equation showed that diabatic heating was the main contributor to the initial rapid intensification of this *** cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection enhanced rapidly in the middle and upper troposphere and contributed to the maximum rapid intensification,whereas the diabatic heating weakened slightly in the mid-low *** relative contribution of the diabatic heating decreased from the initial explosive-developing stage to the maximum-deepening-rate stage due to the enhancement of other factors(the cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection).Furthermore,the physical factors contributing to this EC varied with the explosive-developing *** non-key factors at the initial explosive-developing stage need attention to forecast the rapid intensification.

Using Euler’s first-order explicit(EE)method and the peridynamic differential operator(pDDO)to discretize the time and internal crystal-size derivatives,respectively,the Euler’s first-order explicit method–peridynamic differential operator(EE–pDDO)was obtained for solving the one-dimensional population balance equation in *** different conditions during crystallization were studied:size-independent growth,sizedependent growth in a batch process,nucleation and size-independent growth,and nucleation and size-dependent growth in a continuous *** high accuracy of the EE–pDDO method was confirmed by comparing it with the numerical results obtained using the second-order upwind and Hr-van *** method is characterized by non-oscillation and high accuracy,especially in the discontinuous and sharp crystal size *** stability of the EE–pDDO method,choice of weight function in the pDDO method,and optimal time step are also discussed.

Oxygenated organic molecules(OOMs)play an important role in the formation of secondary organic aerosols(SOAs),but the mixing states of OOMs are still *** study investigates the mixing states of OOM-containing single particles from the measurements taken using a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer in Guangzhou,china in ***,the particle counts of OOM particles and the mass concentration of secondary organic carbon(SOC)exhibited similar temporal trends throughout the entire *** OOM particles were consistently enriched in secondary ions,including ^(16)O^(−),^(2.)CN^(−),^(46)NO_(2.^(−),^(62.NO_(3)^(−),and ^(97)HSO_(4)^(−).In contrast,the number fractions and diurnal patterns of OOM particles among the total detected particles showed similar distributions in August and October;however,the SOC ratios in fine particulate matter were quite different,suggesting that there were different mixing states of single-particle oxygenated *** addition,further classification results indicated that the OOM particles were more aged in October than August,even though the SOC ratios were higher in ***,the distribution of hydrocarbon fragments exhibited a notable decrease from January to October,emphasizing the more aged state of the organics in *** addition,the sharp increase in elemental carbon(EC)-OOM particles in the afternoon in October suggests the potential role of EC in the aging process of ***,in contrast to the bulk analysis of SOC mass concentration,the mixing states of the OOM particles provide insights into the formation process of SOAs in field studies.

A multi-parametric sensor based on multi-mode microfiber(MMF)is proposed,utilizing the modal interference between HE11mode and HE12.ode in the elongated multi-mode fiber to achieve the temperature and pressure *** this paper,the simulation model of modal interference based on MMF is established and the mechanism of modal interference is *** the different mechanisms of modal response in the fiber at different wavelengths,the temperature was inverted using the offset of wavelengths in the spectrum,and the pressure was measured using the change of light *** independent measurement of temperature and pressure was *** experimental results show that the sensor has a temperature sensitivity of 1.305 nm/℃.In the case of pressure sensing,the sensor shows a sensitivity of-0.163 d Bm/g.
