Mountain headwater streams are important freshwater sources,but they are mostly intermittent and highly susceptible to climate *** paper examines the sustainability of augmented freshwater availability in mountain headwater streams for water supply under baseline and future climate change scenarios using an integrated modeling *** climate change data in the 2040s(2030e2059),under Representative Concentration Pathway 4.5 and 8.5 scenarios,were downscaled for the impact *** the region,climate change raises the average precipitation by 5e7%and the temperature by 13e15%in the *** model,integrating Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT2012)and finite-difference Modular Groundwater Flow(MODFLOW)models in a single package,was used to assess the water *** show that extracting a minimum of 16.2 m^(3)/day from the sand storage and 30 m^(3)/day from the aquifer was possible without affecting the groundwater table and water *** average annual catchment recharge was 6%of the precipitation under the baseline *** change is projected to reduce the average water yield and groundwater recharge by 26%and 19%,***,the water supply-demand is significantly small compared to the exploitable rate of water in the *** study was based on limited data,and therefore the findings need to be interpreted with caution,though the model output was validated using satellite *** of a series of sand dams is suggested to maximize the benefit under the potential climate change and water supply-demand increase.

BACKGROUND Complex regional pain syndrome(CRPS)is characterized by pain as well as sensory,motor,and sudomotor ***,it is classified into two types CRPS-I and *** is no single diagnostic test or treatment approach for CRPS,and a multidisciplinary approach is gaining attention to improve patients’symptoms and their quality of *** SUMMARY A 35-year-old woman with an unremarkable medical history sought treatment for CRPS at a hospital of Korean *** her first visit,she was wheelchairbound due to severe pain in her left lower *** had edema and discoloration of the left *** was treated with a combination of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)approaches,including acupuncture,moxibustion,pharmacopuncture,and herbal decoction,for approximately 20 *** foot and ankle outcome score(FAOS)and visual analog scale(VAS)score for pain were evaluated,along with general signs and *** symptoms,signs,FAOS,and VAS scores improved after treatment,with a significant 7-degree decrease in the VAS score and a 62-point increase in the FAOS ***,the foot swelling and discoloration gradually *** the phone follow-up,5 mo after the last visit,additional improvements in outcomes were *** Combined TCM treatment may be a reasonable and safe option for alleviating symptoms and improving function in patients with CRPS.

Joining techniques of dissimilar materials for lightweight multi-material automotive body structure were discussed. The joining of 1 .4 mm thickness steel and 2 mm thickness of Al were performed by the new method that is hybrid laser welding system. After aluminum and steel were welded by laser hybrid welding process, the micro-structure investment and the micro-hardness test were carried out. Hybrid laser welding promises a bright future in joining technology of dissimilar materials for automotive components.

In this study,based on inspiration drawn from origami and the suction mechanism of leeches,a dry electrode is developed for reliable blood pressure(BP)*** leech-inspired suction mechanism generated a local soft vacuum facilitating appropriate contact with the human ***,an electrocardiogram(ECG)sensor,termed a leech-inspired origami(LIO)sensor,was constructed using the developed dry *** LIO with a sensing robot system ensures reliable ECG signals with a signal-to-noise ratio of 21.7±0.56 *** the paired detection of ECG and photoplethysmography(PPG)through human-robot interaction,BP monitoring was *** average difference of the systolic BP between that estimated by the sensing robot and that monitored by the sphygmomanometer was 0.03 mmHg,indicating the reliable BP monitoring ability of the sensing *** LIO sensing system inspired by origami and leech behaviors makes BP sensing tools feasible,which in turn would further the development of a remote healthcare monitoring robotic system.
