Upon exposure to light, developing seedlings undergo photomorphogenesis, as illustrated by inhibition of hypocotyl elongation, cotyledon opening, and leaf greening. During hypocotyl photomorphogenesis, light signals are sensed by multiple photoreceptors, among which the red/far-red light-sensing phytochromes have been extensively studied. However, it is not fully understood how the phytochromes modulate hypo- cotyl growth. Here, we demonstrated that HIGH EXPRESSION OF OSmoTICALLY RESPONSIVE GENES 1 （HOS1）, which is known to either act as E3 ubiquitin ligase or affect chromatin organization, inhibits the transcriptional activation activity of PHYTOCHROME INTERACTING FACTOR 4 （PIF4）, a key transcrip- tion factor that promotes hypocotyl growth. Consistent with the negative regulatory role of HOSl in hypo- cotyl growth, HOSl-defective mutants exhibited elongated hypocotyls in the light. Notably, phyB induces HOS1 activity in inhibiting PIF4 function. Taken together, these observations provide a molecular basis for the phyB-mediated suppression of hypocotyl growth in Arabidopsis.

In recent years,blockchain technology has been applied in the educational domain because of its salient advantages,i.e.,transparency,decentralization,and *** systems typically use public blockchain networks such as Ethereum and Bitcoin to store learning ***,the cost of writing data on these networks is significant,making educational institutions limit data sent to the target network,typically containing only hash codes of the issued *** this paper,we present a system based on a private blockchain network for lifelong learning data authentication and management named B4E(Blockchain For Education).B4E stores not only certificates but also learners’training data such as transcripts and educational programs in order to create a complete record of the lifelong education of each user and verify certificates that they have *** a result,B4E can address two types of fake certificates,i.e.,certificates printed by unlawful organizations and certificates issued by educational institutions for learners who have not met the training *** addition,B4E is designed to allow all participants to easily deploy software packages to manage,share,and check stored information without depending on a single point of *** such,the system enhances the transparency and reliability of the stored *** experiments show that B4E meets expectations for deployment in reality.

AIM:To investigate the clinicopathologic characteristics and prognostic implications associated with loss of CDX2 expression in colorectal cancers(CRCs).METHODS:We immunohistochemically evaluated CDX2 expression in 713 CRCs and paired our findings to clinicopathologic and molecular characteristics of each *** included cytokeratin 7 and CK20 expression,microsatellite instability,Cp G island methylator phenotype,and KRAS and BRAF mutation *** and multivariate survival analysis was performed to reveal the prognostic value of CDX2 ***:CDX2 expression was lost in 42(5.9%) ***,loss of CDX2 expression was associated with proximal location,infiltrative growth,advanced T,N,M and overall *** microscopic examination,loss of CDX2 expression was associated with poor differentiation,increased number of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes,luminal serration and mucin *** of CDX2 expression was also associated with increased CK7 expression,decreased CK20 expression,Cp G island methylator phenotype,microsatellite instability and BRAF *** a univariate survival analysis,patients with loss of CDX2 expression showed worse overall survival(P < 0.001) and progression-free survival(P < 0.001).In a multivariate survival analysis,loss of CDX2 expression was an independent poor prognostic factor of overall survival [hazard ratio(HR) = 1.72,95%CI:1.04-2.85,P = 0.034] and progression-free survival(HR = 1.94,95%CI:1.22-3.07,P = 0.005).CONCLUSION:Loss of CDX2 expression is associated with aggressive clinical behavior and can be used as a prognostic marker in CRCs.

High-and medium-entropy alloys(HEAs and MEAs)possess high solid-solution *** investigations have been conducted on its impact on yield strength,however,there are limited reports regarding the relation between solid-solution strengthening and strain-hardening *** addition,no attempt has been made to account for the dislocation-mediated plasticity;most works focused on twinning-or transformation-induced plasticity(TWIP or TRIP).In this work we reveal the role of solidsolution strengthening on the strain-hardening rate via systematically investigating evolutions of deformation structures by controlling the Cr/V ratio in prototypical V_(1-x)Cr_(x)CoNi *** the TWIP of CrCoNi with the dislocation slip of V_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)CoNi,the hardening rate of CrCoNi was superior to slip-band refinements of V_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)CoNi due to the dynamic Hall-Petch ***,as V content increased further to V_(0.7)Cr_(0.3)CoNi and VCoNi,their rate of slip-band refinement in V_(0.7)Cr_(0.3)CoNi and VCoNi with high solid-solution strength surpassed that of *** it is generally accepted in conventional alloys that deformation twinning results in a higher strain-hardening rate than dislocation-mediated plasticity,we observed that the latter can be predominant in the former under an activated huge solid-solution strengthening *** high solid-solution strength lowered the cross-slip activation and consequently retarded the dislocation rearrangement rate,i.e.,the dynamic *** delay in the hardening rate decrease,therefore,increased the strain-hardening rate,results in an overall higher strain-hardening rate of V-rich alloys.

Soil salinity is one of the most serious agricultural problems that significantly reduce crop yields in the aridand semi-arid regions. It influences various phases of plant growth and developmental processes, such as seed germina-tion, leaf and stem growth, and reproductive propagation. Salt stress delays the onset of flowering in many plant spe-cies. We have previously reported that the Arabidopsis BROTHER OF FT AND TFL1 （BFT） acts as a floral repressor undersalt stress. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the BFT function in the salt regulation of flowering inductionis unknown. In this work, we found that BFT delays flowering under high salinity by competing with FLOWERING LOCUST （FT） for binding to the FD transcription factor. The flowering time of FD-deficient fd-2 mutant was insensitive to highsalinity. BFT interacts with FD in the nucleus via the C-terminal domain of FD, which is also required for the interactionof FD with FT, and interferes with the FT-FD interaction. These observations indicate that BFT constitutes a distinct saltstress signaling pathway that modulates the function of the FT-FD module and possibly provides an adaptation strategythat fine-tunes photoperiodic flowering under high salinity.

AIM: To validate the utility of Annexin A10 as a surrogate marker of the serrated neoplasia pathway in invasive colorectal cancers(CRCs).METHODS: A total of 1133 primary CRC patients who underwent surgical resection at Seoul National University Hospital between January 2004 and December 2007 were *** of Annexin A10 was evaluated by immunohistochemistry using tissue microarray and paired to our findings on clinicopathologic and molecular characteristics of each *** G island methylator phenotype was determined by Methy Light assay and microsatellite instability was determined by high performance liquid *** and BRAF mutation status was evaluated by direct sequencing and allele-specific *** and stage-specific survival analyses were performed to reveal the prognostic value of Annexin A10 ***: Annexin A10 expression was observed in 66(5.8%) of the 1133 *** A10 expression was more commonly found in females and was associated with proximal location,ulcerative gross type,advanced T category,N category and TNM *** with Annexin A10 expression showed an absence of luminal necrosis,luminal serration and mucin *** with Annexin A10 expression were associated with Cp G island methylator phenotype,microsatellite instability and BRAF *** survival analysis,Annexin A10 expression was associated with poor overall survival and progression-free survival,especially in stage Ⅳ ***: Annexin A10 expression is associated with poor clinical behavior and can be used a supportive surrogate marker of the serrated neoplasia pathway in invasive CRCs.
