The recent COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus,severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),has had a significant impact on human life and the economy around the world.A reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)test is used to screen for this disease,but its low sensitivity means that it is not sufficient for early detection and *** RT-PCR is a time-consuming procedure,there is interest in the introduction of automated techniques for *** learning has a key role to play in the field of medical *** most important issue in this area is the choice of key ***,we propose a set of deep learning features based on a system for automated classification of computed tomography(CT)images to identify ***,this method was used to prepare a database of three classes:Pneumonia,COVID19,and *** dataset consisted of 6000 CT images refined by a hybrid contrast stretching *** the next step,two advanced deep learning models(ResNet50 and DarkNet53)were fine-tuned and trained through transfer *** features were extracted from the second last feature layer of both models and further optimized using a hybrid optimization *** each deep model,the Rao-1 algorithm and the PSO algorithm were combined in the hybrid ***,the selected features were merged using the new minimum parallel distance non-redundant(PMDNR)*** final fused vector was finally classified using the extreme machine *** experimental process was carried out on a set of prepared data with an overall accuracy of 95.6%.Comparing the different classification algorithms at the different levels of the features demonstrated the reliability of the proposed framework.

Functionalization of aniline molecules on zinc oxide(ZnO)nanoparticles is reported using a simple impregnation *** ZnO samples were systematically characterized based on morphology,surface and optical properties,and photocatalytic performance towards methyl orange(mo).Aniline functionalization increased the surface charge of the modified *** to pristine ZnO,the aniline-functionalized ZnO yielded faster photodegradation of mo,degrading 98.29%of mo in 60 min and superoxide radicals were the major species during the mo photodegradation *** results indicate that the improvement of photocatalytic degradation could be attributed to opposite charge-induced surface ***,protonated amine as a positively charged molecule was expected to increase the surface adsorption of mo(as an anionic dye)on ZnO nanoparticles surfaces,thereby increasing their photocatalytic degradation performance.

Multiple bowel intussusceptions from metastatic localized malignant pleural mesothelioma:A case report

Localized malignant pleural mesothelioma (LMPM) is a rare occurrence, and gastrointestinal intra-luminal metastases have not previously been reported. Herein, we report a patient with LMPM who presented with a local recurrence 10 mo after initial en bloc surgical resection. Abdominal computed tomography was performed for intractable, vague abdominal pain with episodic vomiting, which showed a "target sign" over the left lower quadrant. Laparotomy revealed several intra-luminal metastatic tumors in the small intestine and colon and a segmental resection of metastatic lesions was performed. Unfortunately, the patient died of sepsis despite successful surgical intervention. Though local recurrence is more frequent in LMPM, the possibility of distant metastasis should not be ignored in patients with non-specifi c abdominal pain.

芝浦地区位于从江户时代到明治时代填海造地之处,周围有众多公司及住宅楼群,绿化程度有限。该项目的目的是在人口稠密的城市环境中、以富含绿色元素的景观和滨海氛围重建艺术性和高品质的开放空间。目标用地面积约为110m×110m见方的小广场,其主要目标是要涵盖周边运河和绿化带,并与滨离行宫恩赐公园、芝离宫、增上寺等绿色环境相协调。从日常生活的角度而言,则希望通过融合丰富的绿树、滨水地带和雕塑元素,为上下班、上下学途中提供一个安全而舒适的生活空间。因此,运河在周边流动的意象被结合到了景观之中,同时建筑内的椭圆形视角的大厅与雕塑和设施也互为呼应。尽管受到海风的影响,此景观仍使用了约130种树木花草,通过丰富多样的植物感受四季变化。生态也是这个住宅区内在的主题,雨水基本上都回归地下,天台收集的雨水通过浇灌植物得以循环利用。

Retarded Harrier Maneuver as a New and Efficient Approach for Fixed-Wing Aircraft to Achieve S/VTOL

modern day VTOL fixed-wing aircraft based on quadplane design is relatively simple and reliable due to lack of complex mechanical components compared to tilt-wings or tilt-rotors in the pre-80’s era. Radio-controlled aerobatic airplanes have thrust-to-weight ratio of greater than unity and are capable of performing a range of impressive maneuvers including the so-called harrier maneuver. We hereby present a new maneuver known as the retarded harrier that is applicable to un/manned fixed-wing aircraft for achieving VTOL flight with a better forward flight performance than a quadplane in terms of weight, speed and esthetics. An airplane with tandem roto-stabilizers is also presented as an efficient airframe to achieve VTOL via retarded harrier maneuver, and detailed analysis is given for hovering at 45° and 60° and comparison is made against the widely adopted quadplane. This work also includes experimental demonstration of retarded harrier maneuver using a small remotely pilot airplane of wingspan 650 mm.

Recent advancements in the field of medical artificial intelligence (AI) have led to the widespread adoption of foundational and large language models. This review paper explores their applications within medical AI, introducing a novel classification framework that categorizes them as disease-specific, general-domain, and multi-modal models. The paper also addresses key challenges such as data acquisition and augmentation, including issues related to data volume, annotation, multi-modal fusion, and privacy concerns. Additionally, it discusses the evaluation, validation, limitations, and regulation of medical AI models, emphasizing their transformative potential in healthcare. The importance of continuous improvement, data security, standardized evaluations, and collaborative approaches is highlighted to ensure the responsible and effective integration of AI into clinical applications.

Duodenal variceal bleeding after balloon-occluded retrograde transverse obliteration: Treatment with transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt

We report a case of duodenal varix bleeding as a long term complication of balloon occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO), which was successfully treated with a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). A 57-year-old man was admitted to the emergency room suffering from melena. He had under-gone BRTO to treat gastric varix bleeding 5 mo before admission. Endoscopy and a computed tomography (CT) scan showed complete obliteration of the gastric varix, but the nodular varices in the second portion of the duodenum expanded after BRTO, and spurting blood was seen. TIPS was performed for treatment of duodenal variceal bleeding, because attempts at endoscopic varix ligation were unsuccessful. The post-operative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged without complications. A follow up CT scan obtained 21 mo after TIPS revealed a patent TIPS tract and complete obliteration of duodenal varices, but multinodular hepatocellular carcinoma had developed. He died of hepatic failure 28 mo after TIPS.

＜正＞ This paper describes an inverter-interfaced distributed generation （DG） system that is interconnected with the electric power system （EPS）. This system has two main goals such as to serve the customer with reliable electric power and to improve power quality like harmonics and voltage event. This system is interfaced through the series and the shunt inverters because inverters are effective to control the output voltage and current. The shunt inverter can serve electric power to the customer and keep the harmonic current from flowing into the power system whereas the series inverter can compensate the voltage events such as voltage sag, swell, and interruption. Because DGs are interconnected with the electric power system, DGs should have countermeasures against disturbances from the electric power system. This paper proposes the operating strategy of DGs including parallel operation mode, transition mode, and independent operation mode in consideration for the protection, islanding, and power quality. Using this operating strategy, the site load can be served high quality power.

Disruption of bone homeostasis caused by metastatic osteolytic breast cancer cells increases inflammatory osteolysis and decreases bone formation,thereby predisposing patients to pathological fracture and cancer *** of osteoblast function induces skeletal diseases due to the disruption of bone *** observed increased activation of pERK1/2 in osteolytic breast cancer cells and osteoblasts in human pathological specimens with aggressive osteolytic breast cancer *** confirmed that osteolytic breast cancers with high expression of pERK1/2 disrupt bone homeostasis via osteoblastic ERK1/2 activation at the bone-breast cancer *** process of inflammatory osteolysis modulates ERK1/2 activation in osteoblasts and breast cancer cells through dominant-negative MEK1 expression and constitutively active MEK1 expression to promote cancer growth within ***,an FDA-approved MEK inhibitor,not only reduced breast cancer-induced bone destruction but also dramatically reduced cancer growth in bone by inhibiting the inflammatory skeletal *** together,these findings suggest that ERK1/2 activation in both breast cancer cells and osteoblasts is required for osteolytic breast cancer-induced inflammatory osteolysis and that ERK1/2 pathway inhibitors may represent a promising adjuvant therapy for patients with aggressive osteolytic breast cancers by altering the shared cancer and bone microenvironment.
