The m^(6)A modification involves almost all aspects of RNA biology,including the alternative splicing of mRNA precursors,mRNA transport and stability,and miRNA processing and regulation of target genes.1,2 Alternative splicing controlling the information storage and RNA translation involves the regulation of various biological processes.3,4,5 Here,we integrated the genomic information of 161 esophageal cancer(EC)samples to comprehensively evaluate the m^(6)A modification patterns and correlated the m^(6)A modification pattern with the prognosis of EC patients,where two distinct m^(6)A modification patterns were *** combined effects of high m^(6)Ascore and low TMB correlated with a better prognosis of EC *** addition,we found an inherent correlation between m^(6)A modification and the occurrence of alternative splicing events in EC ***,we established a scoring system to quantify the m^(6)A modification pattern with RNA alternative splicing events in individual EC patients(Fig.S1).

Microwave-assisted pyrolysis of plastics for aviation oil production:energy and economic analyses

Microwave-assisted pyrolysis is an effective method for recycling plastic wastes into oils that can be used for aviation fuels. In this study, energy and economic analyses of aviation oil production from microwave-assisted pyrolysis of polystyrene were performed. The total energy efficiency, recovered energy efficiency, unitary cost, unitary energy economic cost, relative cost difference, and energy economic factor were detailed. And the effects of microwave power, pyrolysis temperature, microwave absorbent loading, and microwave absorbent type on these parameters were covered. It was found that pyrolysis temperature has the most significant effect on the unitary cost and unitary energy economic cost of aviation oil, and-microwave absorbent type has a significant influence on energy economic factor during the whole microwave-assisted pyrolysis process. The optimum reaction conditions at the tonnage system for pyrolysis of 1 t polystyrene were microwave power of 650 W, pyrolysis temperature of 460 °C, and silicon carbide (microwave absorbent) at a loading of 2 t (twice than feedstock loading). At these optimal conditions, the total energy efficiency, recovered energy efficiency, unitary cost, unitary energy economic cost, relative cost difference, and energy economic factor were 62.78%, 96.51%, 3.21 × 10^(4) yuan·t^(-1), 779 yuan·GJ^(-1), 1.49, and 71.02%, respectively.

Hemoglobin hydrolysate is derived from the enzymatic degradation of *** work aimed to evaluate whether hemoglobin hydrolysate promotes the absorption of non-heme iron and the safety of absorbed iron in mice by analyzing the iron binding content,iron circulation,and liver *** found that hemoglobin hydrolysate promoted the absorption of non-heme iron with high efficiency in duodenum by spontaneously binding non-heme iron during digestion,and increased hepatic iron content by up-regulating divalent metal transporter 1,zinc transporter 14,but hepatic iron content only increased at 3 *** iron entered the blood through ferroportin without restriction at 3 weeks,and excessive iron entered the liver and then affected the hepatocyte membranes permeability and lipid synthesis through oxidative *** the prolongation of dietary intervention,the up-regulated hepcidin acted on the ferroportin to restrict excess iron from entering the blood,and then the hepatic homeostasis *** addition,hemoglobin hydrolysate enhanced the hepatic antioxidant *** together,hemoglobin hydrolysate has a strong ability to promote the absorption of non-heme iron in vivo,and the absorbed iron is relatively safe due to the regulation of hepcidin.

Plant-based meat analogues aggravated lipid accumulation by regulating lipid metabolism homeostasis in mice

To determine the effects of plant-based meat analogues on the metabolic health and the possible mechanisms,mice were fed with a real pork diet(AP),a real beef diet(AB),a plant-based pork analogue diet(PP)and plant-based beef analogue diet(PB)for 68 *** with real meat,the plant-based meat analogues increased food and energy intake,body weight,white fat and liver weight and caused adipocyte hypertrophy,hepatic lipid droplet accumulation,and inflammatory responses in *** revealed that plantbased meat analogues altered the composition of serum metabolites,which regulated lipid metabolism *** PB diet upregulated gene expression related to lipid synthesis,lipolysis and adipocyte differentiation while the PP diet upregulated expression of lipolysis-related genes but downregulated expression of adipocyte differentiation-related genes in white adipose ***,both PP and PB diets upregulated lipid influx-and synthesis-related genes but downregulated lipid oxidation-related genes in *** specific metabolite biomarkers may affect fat accumulation mainly by direct lipid metabolism pathways or indirect amino acid metabolism,protein digestion and absorption,bile secretion,aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis,neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction and ABC transporters *** findings provide a new insight into understanding the differences in nutritional functions of meat and plant-based meat analogues.

Surface-tension-confined microfluidic devices are platforms for manipulating 2D droplets based on patterned surfaces with special *** have great potential for various applications,but are still in the early stages of development and face some challenges that need to be *** study,inspired by the Wenzel and slippery transition of rose petal,develops a Patterned Oil-triggered Wenzel-slippery Surface(POWS)to examine the microfluidic devices.A laser-chemical composite method is established to fabricate POWSs,which take rose-petal-like microstructures as wettability pattern and a superamphiphobic surface as the *** prepared POWSs switched between high adhesion superhydrophobic state and the slippery liquid-infused surface state through adding or removing the lubricant *** the high adhesion superhydrophobic state,the droplets can be sticked on the *** the slippery liquid-infused state,the droplet can slide along the wettability pattern as the designed route.A POWS-based droplet reactor is further constructed,on which,the droplets can be remotely controlled to move,mix and react,as *** a POWS,which manipulates droplets with surface tension controlled by the switchable wettability patterns,would be a promising candidate to construct multiple surface-tension-confined microfluidic *** addition,the fabrication technique and design principle proposed here may aid the development of various field related to the bio-inspired surfaces,such as water collection,desalination and high throughput analysis,etc.

Enhancing XRF sensor-based sorting of porphyritic copper ore using particle swarm optimization-support vector machine(PSO-SVM)algorithm

X-ray fluorescence(XRF)sensor-based ore sorting enables efficient beneficiation of heterogeneous ores,while intraparticle heterogeneity can cause significant grade detection errors,leading to misclassifications and hindering widespread technology *** classification models are crucial to determine if actual grade exceeds the sorting threshold using localized XRF *** studies mainly used linear regression(LR)algorithms including simple linear regression(SLR),multivariable linear regression(MLR),and multivariable linear regression with interaction(MLRI)but often fell short attaining satisfactory *** study employed the particle swarm optimization support vector machine(PSO-SVM)algorithm for sorting porphyritic copper ore ***-scale results showed PSO-SVM out-performed LR and raw data(RD)models and the significant interaction effects among input features was *** poor input data quality,PSO-SVM demonstrated exceptional ***-scale sorting achieved 93.0%accuracy,0.24%grade increase,84.94%recovery rate,57.02%discard rate,and a remarkable 39.62 yuan/t net smelter return(NSR)increase compared to no *** improvements were achieved by the PSO-SVM model with optimized input combinations and highest data quality(T=10,T is XRF testing times).The unsuitability of LR methods for XRF sensor-based sorting of investigated sample is *** element selection and mineral association analysis elucidate element importance and influence mechanisms.

To regulate the sodium chloride content in Jinhua ham， the impact of NaCl on the activity and conformation of cathepsin B was investigated using spectroscopy and computational methods. The results showed that the activity of cathepsin B decreased with an increase in Na+cation content and temperature. Additionally， decreased α-helix content and increased β-sheet content were observed. The increase in sulfhydryl group content was attributed to the breaking of original disulfide bonds in the molecular structure or the release of embedded groups. Furthermore， the surface hydrophobicity gradually declined， which was consistent with the analysis of endogenous fluorescence spectroscopy. At the molecular level， the number of hydrogen bonds formed in NaCl-treated samples decreased， and the interactions between the hydrogen bonding were less powerful， which caused instability in the binding of the protein and substrate. The conformation of cathepsin B accurately characterized its activity， and the structural changes had a macroscopic effect on the decrease in protease activity.

Anthocyanins play crucial roles in pollen protection and pollinator attraction in flowering ***,the mechanisms underlying flower color determination and whether floral anthocyanin regulators participate in other processes remain largely unresolved in soybeans(Glycine max).In this study,we investigated the genetic components and mechanisms governing anthocyanin biosynthesis in soybean *** and genetic studies have characterized two antagonistic regulators,the positive activator GmMYBA3 and the negative repressor GmMYBR1,that modulate the gene expression of anthocyanin biosynthesis in soybean *** findings revealed a regulatory interplay between GmMYBA3 and GmMYBR1 bridged by GmTT8a,highlighting the complexity of anthocyanin regulation in different soybean *** of additional soybean cultivars demonstrated the universality of GmMYBA3 and GmMYBR1 in regulating floral anthocyanin biosynthesis-related genes,with GmF3’5’H identified as a crucial determinant of white flower *** study provides a molecular mechanism underlying soybean flower color determination,paving the way for the molecular modification of soybean flowers to probably enhance their resistance to abiotic stresses and attractiveness to pollinators.

Crystalline SiO2 (c-SiO2) samples were implanted at room temperature (RT) with 120 keV C-ions and the selected implantation doses were 2.0×1017, 5.0×1017, 8. 6×1017 and 1. 2×1017 C/cm2. These samples were annealed in vacuum under 500, 700, 900 and 1 100℃, respectively. The modification of the samples was investigated at RT by using a Spectrum GX IR spectroscopy.
