The Jiangsu coastal area is located in central-eastern China and is well known for complicated dynamics with large-scale radial sand ridge systems. It is therefore a challenge to simulate typhoon-induced storm surges in this area. In this study, a two-dimensional astronomical tide and storm surge coupling model was established to simulate three typical types of typhoons in the area. The Holland parameter model was used to simulate the wind field and wind pressure of the typhoon and the Japanese 55-year reanalysis data were added as the background wind field. The offshore boundary information was provided by an improved Northwest Pacific Ocean Tide Model. Typhoon-induced storm surges along the Jiangsu coast were calculated based on analysis of wind data from 1949 to 2013 and the spatial distribution of the maximum storm surge levels with different types of typhoons, providing references for the design of sea dikes and planning for control of coastal disasters.

CdTe@Zn5（CO3）2（OH）G composites were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. CdTe@Zn5（CO3）2（OH）6 composite nanospheres were characterized via X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy- dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and photoluminescence （PL）. The hydrothermal reaction time and the mole ratios of Zn/Te played important roles in the growth and fluorescence intensity of CdTe@Zn5（CO3）2（OH）6 composites. The composite powders showed peak PL at 578 nm at 1.6 times the intensity of powdered CdTe QDs. CdTe@Zn5（CO3）2（OH）6 exhibited a strong yellow fluorescence emission, and its preparation method was easy and economical. Therefore, CdTe@Zn5（CO3）2（OH）6 offers potential applications in biological markers and light-emitting diodes.

The Multiprotein bridge factor 2 （MBF2） gene was first identified as a coactivator involved in BmFTZ-F 1-mediated activation of the Fushi tarazu gene. Herein, nine homologous genes of MBF2 gene are identified. Evolutionary analysis showed that this gene family is insect-specific and that the family members are closely related to response to pathogens （REPAT） genes. Tissue distribution analysis revealed that these genes could be expressed in a tissue-specific manner. Developmental profiles analysis showed that the MBF2 gene family members were highly expressed in the different stages. Analysis of the expression patterns of nine MBF2 family genes showed that Bacillus bombysepticus treatment induced the up-regulation of several MBF2 family genes, including MBF2-4, -7, -9, -8. Furthermore, we found the MBF2 family genes were modulated by starvation and the expression of these genes recovered upon re-feeding, except for MBF2-5, -9. These findings suggested roles for these proteins in insect defense against pathogens and nutrient metabolism, which has an important guiding significance for designing pest control strategies.

Serine proteases play important roles in digestion and immune responses during insect development. In the present study, the serine protease gene BmSP36, which encodes a 292-residue protein, was cloned from the midgut cells ofBombyx mori. BmSP36 contains an intact catalytic triad （H57, D102 and S195） and a conserved substrate-binding site （G189, H216 and G226）, suggesting that it is a serine protease with chymotrypsin- like specificity. The temporal and spatial expression patterns of BmSP36 indicated that its messenger RNA and protein expression mainly occurred in the midgut at the feeding stages. Western blotting, immunofluorescence and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analyses revealed secretion of BmSP36 protein from epithelial cells into the midgut lumen. The transcriptional and translational expression of BmSP36 was down- regulated after starvation but up-regulated after refeeding. Moreover, expression of the BmSP36 gene could be up-regulated by a juvenile hormone analogue. These results enable us to better define the potential role of BmSP36 in dietary protein digestion at the feeding stages during larval development.

Effects of Mixture Sowing on Forage Yield and Interspecific Competition of Alfalfa and Orchard Grass

[ Objective] To explore the mixture sowing effects and optimal mixture ratio of alfalfa and orchard grass. [ Method] The alfalfa and orchard grass were sowed at different ratios （1 ： 0, 3： 1, 1 ： 1, 1 ： 3 and 0：1 ）. They were grouped and named as CK1, A1, A2, A3 and CK2., respectively. The forage yield, relative yield total （RYT） and the competition rate （CR） of alfalfa and orchard grass in each group were determined, respectively. [ Result] In the A3 treatment group, the total forage yield was the highest （4 827.67 kg/hm2） and significantly different from that of other treatment groups （ P 〈 0.01 ）. In every treatment group, the RYT was higher than 1, and the alfalfa was more competitive than the orchard grass in the mixed-seeding pasture. [ Conclusion] Our studies may provide a basis for the establishment of high yield and high quality artificial mixture pasture.

Aim: To investigate the effects of bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP7)-expressing recombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector on the differentiation of C2C12 cells. Methods: AAV-BMP7 was packaged by infecting the stable cell clone BHK-21 (integrated with recombinant AAV vector plasmid pSNAV-BMP7) with recombinant herpes simplex virus type 1, which expresses AAV-2 Rep and Cap and possesses AAV packaging functions. Following infection with AAV-BMP7 at multiplicities of infection of lx 10～5 vector genomes per cell and subse-quent culture, C2C12 cells were assessed qualitatively for BMP7 production, alka-line phosphatase activity, osteocalcin production and Cbfal and MyoD expression. Results: C2C12 cells transduced with AAV-BMP7 could produce BMP7 protein until d 28. Alkaline phosphatase in the cultured C2C12 cell lysate was elevated. Secreted osteocalcin in the culture medium was detectable at d 12 and Cbfal mRNA expression level was upregulated, coinciding with downregulation of MyoD in a temporal manner. Conclusion: The present in vitro study demonstrated that AAV-BMP7 could infect and efficiently convert C2C12 cells from myoblasts into osteoblast lineage cells.

Solution-processed Cu（In,Ga）Se2（CIGS） solar cells suffer from serious carrier recombination and power conversion efficiency（PCE） loss because of the poor film properties and easy formation of ***, we propose Ag&Se co-selenization strategy to enhance the crystallization and passivate harmful defects of the CIGS films. The formation of Ag-Se phase during the selenization process enables the formation of large grains and suppresses the deep level defects. It is found that Ag doping can enlarge the depletion region width, lower the Urbach energy and prolong the carrier lifetime. As a result, a champion solution-processed CIGS solar cell presents a high efficiency of 16.48% with the highly improved opencircuit voltage（VOC） of 662 m V and fill factor（FF） of 75.8%. This work provides an efficient strategy to prepare high quality solution-processed CIGS films for high-performance CIGS solar cells.
