Softening and melting behaviors of ferrous burden in hydrogen-rich blast furnace cohesive zone

The changes in the softening and melting behaviors of ferrous burden in the cohesive zone and the characteristics of the slag–iron–coke interface in a blast furnace were investigated by simulating an actual blast furnace under hydrogen-rich *** to the variation in the transient shrinkage of the burden under different atmospheres,the shrinkage start temperature of the sinter was higher than that of the *** negative shrinkage rate of the pellets was greater than that of the ***,the softening start temperature in the blast furnace decreased under hydrogen-rich conditions,giving the blast furnace a broader range of softening *** softening start temperatures of the pellets and sinter decreased from 1102 to 949℃ and 1152 to 1080℃,*** hydrogen-rich traditional blast furnace conditions narrowed the melting zone temperature range and shifted it toward the high-temperature zone,significantly improving the burden layer ***,under the hydrogen-rich oxygen blast furnace conditions,there were a decrease in the melting start temperature,a shift of the melting zone location to the low-temperature zone,and an increase in the burden layer permeability and pressure difference.A comparison of the slag–iron–coke interface characteristics under different atmospheric conditions showed that the carbon content in metallic iron decreased under hydrogen-rich traditional blast furnace conditions compared with traditional blast furnace ***,under hydrogen-rich oxygen blast furnace conditions,the carbon content in metallic iron increased compared with oxygen blast furnace *** findings provide guidance for the development of low-carbon ironmaking processes in blast furnaces.

Application of retrograde distal pancreatectomy

BACKGROUND: Since conventional methods are difficult to deal with pancreatic tumors close to the portal veins, we investigated the feasibility and norms for retrograde distal pancreatectomy by cutting the neck of the pancreas first. METHOD: The clinical data and surgical procedures of retrograde distal pancreatectomy given to 11 patients from July 2001 to June 2007 were analyzed. RESULTS: All 11 operations were completed successfully. The mean time of the operation was 143 71 minutes. The mean volume of hemorrhage was 239 ml. The mean time of hospitalization was 12 +/- 4.2 days. No blood transfusion was needed during the operation, and all patients had a good postoperative recovery. No neopathy of diabetes mellitus, pancreatic fistula or other complications occurred after the operation. The follow-up of all patients (4-60 months) showed that 3 patients survived for 14, 16 and 33 months, respectively, and the other patients are still alive. CONCLUSIONS: Retrograde distal pancreatectomy is useful for exposing the portal and superior mesenteric veins while avoiding operative injury. Interception of the blood supply of the spleen helps to reduce the volume of hemorrhage, while making the operation easier and the operative time short. It is advantageous for tumor resection of the body of the pancreas near the portal veins.

Mpox is a zoonotic infectious disease caused by the mpox virus(MPXV).Historically,the majority of mpox cases have been documented in Central ***,since May 2022,there has been a notable rise in reported cases from regions beyond ***,over 110 countries spanning Europe,North America,South America,Asia,and other territories have reported mpox *** report details a case involving a patient who identifies as a man who has sex with men(MSM)and is concurrently infected with MPXV,human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1),Pneumocystis jiroveci,as well as extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis(XDR-TB).This patient had also received a vaccination for smallpox in the ***,we provide photographic documentation charting the progression of dermatological manifestations associated with *** case highlights the significance of sexual intercourse as a crucial mode of transmission for *** rapid and widespread dissemination of the MPXV across various regions,especially among MSM communities,underscores the importance of enhancing preventive education efforts targeted at high-risk populations.

High N-doped hierarchical porous carbon networks with expanded interlayers for efficient sodium storage

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have been attracting considerable attention as a promising candidate for large-scale energy storage because of the abundance and low-cost of sodium resources. However, lack of appropriate anode materials impedes further applications. Herein, a novel self-template strategy is designed to synthesize uniform flowerlike N-doped hierarchical porous carbon networks (NHPCN) with high content of N (15.31 at.%) assembled by ultrathin nanosheets via a self-synthesized single precursor and subsequent thermal annealing. Relying on the synergetic coordination of benzimidazole and 2-methylimidazole with metal ions to produce a flowerlike network, a self-formed single precursor can be harvested. Due to the structural and compositional advantages, including the high N doping, the expanded interlayer spacing, the ultrathin two-dimensional nano-sized subunits, and the three-dimensional porous network structure, these unique NHPCN flowers deliver ultrahigh reversible capacities of 453.7 mAh·g^−1 at 0.1 A·g^−1 and 242.5 mAh·g^−1 at 1 A·g^−1 for 2,500 cycles with exceptional rate capability of 5 A·g^−1 with reversible capacities of 201.2 mAh·g^−1. The greatly improved sodium storage performance of NHPCN confirms the importance of reasonable engineering and synthesis of hierarchical carbon with unique structures.

Literature analysis of radiotherapy for esophageal cancer in China

Background and Objective: Many patterns of treatment have been used to treat esophageal carcinoma in the past years, however, an optimal treatment is still the key issue to be explored. Therefore, we analyzed the published literature about radiotherapy for esophageal cancer in recent 15 years in China, and observed the survival rate, local control rate, adverse events, and so on. Methods: A total of 56 eligible papers about radiotherapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma published in Chinese core periodicals between 1994 and 2009 were selected. The survival rates, local control rates, and adverse events were analyzed. Results: The 1-, 2-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival rates of the patients reported in the 56 papers were (67.99 ± 12.55)%, (49.59 ± 11.79)%, (34.50 ± 11.49)%, and (23.31 ± 10.21)%, respectively. The 1-, 2-, 3-, and 5-year local control rates were (73.04 ± 13.37)%, (61.60 ± 15.50)%, (51.77 ± 15.00)%, and (50.15 ± 21.36)%, respectively. The acute esophageal toxicity rate was (44.84 ± 25.71)% in 32 papers reported in recent 15 years, and the acute esophageal toxicity over grade II accounted for (35.93 ± 22.90)%. The rates of acute esophageal toxicity were (26.84 ± 13.12)% for conventional radiation, (53.72 ± 21.82)% for late course accelerated hyperfractionation radiation, (61.33 ± 28.69)% for concurrent chemoradiotherapy, and (40.31 ± 27.22)% for other ways of radiation. The late toxicity rate described in 23 papers was (5.13 ± 4.07)% in recent 15 years. The late toxicity rates were (5.66 ± 3.42)% for conventional radiation, (4.53 ± 4.07)% for late course accelerated hyperfractionation radiation, (2.24 ±1.31)% for concurrent chemoradiotherapy, and (7.34 ± 5.06)% for other ways of radiation. The Meta analysis indicated that concurrent chemoradiotherapy was better than late course accelerated hyperfractionation radiation and conventional radiation. OBJECTIVE: To explore how Qingfei Zhisou oral liquid(清肺止嗽口服液, QFZS) adjusts body temperature bias and the interaction of inflammatory factors levels and metabolomic differences. METHODS: Dry yeast was subcutaneously injected at 10 mL/kg to establish the pyrexia model. We randomly divided 60 Sprague-Dawley rats into five groups: control, model, positive, low dose of QFZS and high dose of QFZS. Inflammatory proteins were evaluated by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. For the examination of the endogenous metabolites, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry were employed. RESULTS: QFZS significantly reduced rats' body temperature within 6 h after dry yeast injection and reduced the secretion of the arginine vasopressin, cyclic adenosine monophosphate, prostaglandin E-2, tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6), and interleukin-1β in serum. Meanwhile, we identified 41 metabolites between the model and QFZS groups, including arachidonic acid and lysophospholipids. QFZS restored normal arachidonic acid levels. Based on the differential metabolite enrichment analysis, QFZS's antiinflammatory and anti-pyrexia effects might be related to the inflammatory pathway regulated by transient receptor potential. Additionally, QFZS treatment reduced transient receptor potential melastatin 2 ion channel expression and affected TNF-α, heat shock protein 70, and cyclooxygenase-2 expression in the hypothalamus. CONCLUSION: QFZS exerts its regulatory effects on fever by regulating the metabolism of lysophospholipids and arachidonic acid and the regulation of inflammation via transient receptor potential ion channels channels.

Wave Attenuation Performance and the Influencing Factors of A Lower Arc-Plate Breakwater

Comprehensive experimental and numerical studies have been undertaken to investigate wave energy dissipation performance and main influencing factors of a lower arc-plate breakwater. The numerical model, which considers nonlinear interactions between waves and the arc-plate breakwater, has been constructed by using the velocity wave- generating method, the volume of fluid (VOF) method and the finite volume method. The results show that the relative width, relative height and relative submergence of the breakwater are three main influencing factors and have significant influence on wave energy dissipation of the lower arc-plate open breakwater. The transmission coefficient is found to decrease with the increasing relative width, and the minimum transmission coefficient is 0.15 when the relative width is 0.45. The reflection coefficient is found to vary slightly with the relative width, and the maximum reflection coefficient is 0.53 when the relative width is 0.45. The transmission and reflection coefficients are shown to increase with the relative wave height for approximately 85% of the experimental tests when the relative width is 0.19 0.45. The transmission coefficients at relative submergences of 0.04, 0.02 and 0 are clearly shown to be greater than those at relative submergences of 0.02 and 0.04, while the reflection coefficient exhibits the opposite relationship. After the wave interacts with the lower arc-plate breakwater, the wave energy is mainly converted into transmission, reflection and dissipation energies. The wave attenuation performance is clearly weakened for waves with greater heights and longer periods.

Deep learning models semi-automatic training system for quality control of transthoracic echocardiography

Objective To explore the value of deep learning(DL)models semi-automatic training system for automatic optimization of clinical image quality control of transthoracic echocardiography(TTE).Methods Totally 1250 TTE videos from 402 patients were retrospectively collected,including 490 apical four chamber(A4C),310 parasternal long axis view of left ventricle(PLAX)and 450 parasternal short axis view of great vessel(PSAX GV).The videos were divided into development set(245 A4C,155 PLAX,225 PSAX GV),semi-automated training set(98 A4C,62 PLAX,90 PSAX GV)and test set(147 A4C,93 PLAX,135 PSAX GV)at the ratio of 5∶2∶*** on development set and semi-automatic training set,DL model of quality control was semi-automatically iteratively optimized,and a semi-automatic training system was constructed,then the efficacy of DL models for recognizing TTE views and assessing imaging quality of TTE were verified in test *** After optimization,the overall accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score of DL models for recognizing TTE views in test set improved from 97.33%,97.26%,97.26%and 97.26%to 99.73%,99.65%,99.77%and 99.71%,respectively,while the overall accuracy for assessing A4C,PLAX and PSAX GV TTE as standard views in test set improved from 89.12%,83.87%and 90.37%to 93.20%,90.32%and 93.33%,*** The developed DL models semi-automatic training system could improve the efficiency of clinical imaging quality control of TTE and increase iteration speed.
