Low-pressure pneumoperitoneum with abdominal wall lift in laparoscopic total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer:initial experience

AIM To evaluate the safety and feasibility of a new technology combining low-pressure pneumoperitoneum(LPP) and abdominal wall lift(AWL) in laparoscopic total mesorectal excision(TME) for rectal *** From November 2015 to July 2017,26 patients underwent laparoscopic TME for rectal cancer using LPP(6-8 mm Hg) with subcutaneous AWL in Qilu Hospital of Shandong University,Jinan,*** data regarding patients' demographics,intraoperative monitoring indices,operation-related indices andpathological outcomes were prospectively *** Laparoscopic TME was performed in 26 cases(14 anterior resection and 12 abdominoperineal resection) successfully,without conversion to open or laparoscopic surgery with standard-pressure *** monitoring showed stable heart rate,blood pressure and paw airway *** mean operative time was 194.29 ± 41.27 min(range:125-270 min) and 200.41 ± 20.56 min(range:170-230 min) for anterior resection and abdominoperineal resection,*** mean number of lymph nodes harvested was 16.71 ± 5.06(range:7-27).There was no positive circumferential or distal resection *** local recurrence was observed during a median follow-up period of 11.96 ± 5.55 mo(range:5-23 mo).CONCLUSION LPP combined with AWL is safe and feasible for laparoscopic *** technique can provide satisfactory exposure of the operative field and stable operative monitoring indices.

To the Editor:Organ donation after the citizen’s death program was fully launched in China in *** to the allocation regulations of donated organs,all donated lungs must be allocated through the China Organ Transplant Response System(COTRS,***).[1]To fully optimize the implementation of organ transportation sharing policy and coordinate multiple government departments and social groups involved in the process,the"Green Channel of human Organ Transport(GCHOT)"was established on May 6th,2016 in China[Supplementary Figure 1,http://***/CM9/A431].[2]In this study,we reviewed and compared the status of lung transportation between the pre-and post-GCHOT periods based on data collected from the largest lung transplantation(LT)center in Wuxi,Jiangsu,China,with the aim of introducing the detailed process and implementation of GCHOT in China.

The effect of stress-relief annealing at different stages of thermal fatigue tests on crack growth was investigated using a self-built thermal cycle *** results showed that annealing could limit crack expansion *** reduced dislocation density and released the accumulation of residual *** addition,the strain accumulation in carbides was reduced by this *** was also found that double annealing was even more effective at inhibiting crack expansion compared to single stress-relief *** 1000 cycles,the maximum crack length was reduced by 31.1%and 45.2%for the samples after using the optimal single and double annealing processes,*** single stress-relief annealing,earlier annealing provides more benefit in delaying crack ***,effective double stress-relief annealing requires a suitable time interval between the annealing ***,after 800 cycles,surface hardness decreased significantly accompanied by an increase in the size and number of carbides,and cracks expanded predominantly along grain boundaries.

Generating photo-realistic images from a text description is a challenging problem in computer *** works have shown promising performance to generate synthetic images conditional on text by Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs).In this paper,we focus on the category-consistent and relativistic diverse constraints to optimize the diversity of synthetic *** on those constraints,a category-consistent and relativistic diverse conditional GAN(CRD-CGAN)is proposed to synthesize K photo-realistic images *** use the attention loss and diversity loss to improve the sensitivity of the GAN to word attention and ***,we employ the relativistic conditional loss to estimate the probability of relatively real or fake for synthetic images,which can improve the performance of basic conditional ***,we introduce a category-consistent loss to alleviate the over-category issues between K synthetic *** evaluate our approach using the Caltech-UCSD Birds-200-2011,Oxford 102 flower and MS COCO 2014 datasets,and the extensive experiments demonstrate superiority of the proposed method in comparison with state-of-the-art methods in terms of photorealistic and diversity of the generated synthetic images.

Supramolecular polymers, as a type of dynamic polymers, are subordinate to the interdisciplinary field of polymer chemistry and supramolecular chemistry, whose development has greatly promoted the prosperity of new materials. Notably, molecular weight is one of the most important parameters of supramolecular polymers, which affects the physical/chemical properties and processing applications of *** new methods for characterizing the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers is crucial for advancing the development of supramolecular polymers. In this review, we elaborate and summarize three strategies for characterizing the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers that recently reported by our research group according to the characteristics of supramolecular polymers, including (1) the molecular weight distinction corresponding to variable fluorescence colors,(2) matching different molecular weights with different fluorescence lifetime,(3) transforming supramolecular polymers into mechanically interlocked polymers or covalent polymers. Besides, we also discuss the limitations of current methods for characterizing supramolecular polymers. We hope that this review can promote the development of supramolecular polymers and significantly inspire to exploit new methods to characterizing molecular weight of supramolecular polymers.

Micro-structures 3-D profile measurement is an important measurement content for research on micro-machining and characterization of micro-dimension. In this paper,a new method involved 2-D structure template, which guides phase unwrapping,is proposed based on phase-shifting microscopic *** is fit not only for static measurement, but also for dynamic measurement,especially for motion of MEMS devices.3-D profile of active comb of micro-resonator is obtained by using the *** theoretic precision in out-of-plane direction is better than 0.5 *** in-plane theoretic precision in micro-structures is better than 0.5 μ*** at the edge of micro-structures,it is on the level of micrometer mainly caused by imprecise edge ***,its disadvantages and the following development are discussed.
