The Cu-based shape memory alloy(Sma)with highly oriented columnar crystals is an ideal candidate for the commercial application,especially the ones obtained through rapid cooling via additive manufacturing *** this work,Cu_(71)Al_(18)Mn_(11)(at%)shape memory alloy with strongtexture columnar grains was successfully prepared by selective laser melting(SLM).An L27(313)orthogonal array was designed to systematically investigate the effects of laser power,scanning speed,scanning spacing,layer thickness and their interactions on the forming quality of Cu_(71)Al_(18)Mn_(11)***_(71)Al_(18)Mn_(11)alloys with density of 7.3204 g·cm^(-3)and relative density of 99.18%were successfully prepared when the laser power,scanning speed,scanning distance and layer thickness were 240 W,1000 mm·s^(-1),0.11 mm and 25μm,the transformation onset temperature(Ms),martensite phase transformation termination temperature(Mf),austenite phase transformation onset temperature(AS)and austenite phase transformation termination temperature(Af)are-21.84,-26.04,-15.75 and-12.36℃,*** compression strength and fracture strain along the building direction(BD)were significantly superior to the scanning direction(SD),while the superelasticity of compression along the SD reached 2.50%,which was better than that of2.32%along *** mechanical property and superelasticity anisotropy due to the formation of columnar grains and texture were *** study shows that SLM is a proposed method for the preparation of Cu-Al-Mn Smas with high superelasticity,which provides a new strategy for enhancing the shape memory alloy superelasticity.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis （IPF） is characterized by myofibroblast loci in lung parenchyma. Myofibroblasts are thought to originate from epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition （EMT）. Wntl and lithium chloride （LiCl） induce EMT in alveolar epithelial cells （AECs）, but the mechanisms are unclear. AECs were treated with Wntl and LiC1, respectively; morphological change and molecular changes of EMT, including E-cadherin, fibronectin, and vimentin, were observed. SB203580 was administrated to test the role of p38 maPK signaling in EMT. Then AECs were treated with siRNAs targeting p38 maPK to further test the effects of p38 maPK, and the role was further confirmed by re-expression of p38 maPK. At last β-catenin siRNA was used to test the role of β-catenin in the EMT process and relationship of β-catenin and p38 maPK was concluded. Exposure of AECs to Wntl and LiC1 resulted in upregulation of vimentin and fibronectin with subsequent downregulation of E-cadherin. Wntl and LiC1 stimulated the p38 maPK signaling pathways. Perturbing the p38 maPK pathway either by SB203580 or through p38 maPK siRNA blocked EMT and inhibited fibronetin synthesis, which were reversed by transfection of p38 maPK expression plasmid. β-catenin siRNA attenuated the EMT process and decreased p38 maPK phosphorylation, indicating that β-catenin is involved in the EMT- related changes through regulation of p38 maPK phosphorylation. These findings suggest that p38 maPK participates in the pathogenesis of EMT through Wnt pathway and that p38 maPK may be a novel target for IPF therapy.

This paper presents a design method to implement an antenna array characterized by ultra-wide beam coverage,low profile,and low Sidelobe Level(SLL)for the application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)air-to-ground *** array consists of ten broadside-radiating,ultrawide-beamwidth elements that are cascaded by a central-symmetry series-fed network with tapered currents following Dolph-Chebyshev distribution to provide low ***,an innovative design of end-fire Huygens source antenna that is compatible with metal ground is presented.A low-profile,half-mode Microstrip Patch Antenna(MPA)is utilized to serve as the magnetic dipole and a monopole is utilized to serves as the electric dipole,constructing the compact,end-fire,grounded Huygens source ***,two opposite-oriented end-fire Huygens source antennas are seamlessly integrated into a single antenna element in the form of monopole-loaded MPA to accomplish the ultrawide,broadside-radiating *** consideration has been applied into the design of series-fed network as well as antenna element to compensate the adverse coupling effects between elements on the radiation *** indicates an ultrawide Half-Power Beamwidth(HPBW)of 161°and a low SLL of-25 dB with a high gain of 12 d Bi under a single-layer *** concurrent ultrawide beamwidth and low SLL make it particularly attractive for applications of UAV air-to-ground communication.

Endocrine disruptors such as bisphenol A(BPA)adversely affect the environment and human *** are used for the efficient biodegradation of various persistent organic pollutants in an environmentally safe ***,the direct application of free laccases is generally hindered by short enzyme lifetimes,non-reusability,and the high cost of a single *** this study,laccases were immobilized on a novel magnetic threedimensional poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate(PEGDA)-chitosan(CS)inverse opal hydrogel(LAC@MPEGDA@CS@IOH).The immobilized laccase showed significant improvement in the BPA degradation performance and superior storage stability compared with the free laccase.91.1%of 100 mg/L BPA was removed by the LAC@MPEGDA@CS@IOH in 3 hr,whereas only 50.6%of BPA was removed by the same amount of the free *** with the laccase,the outstanding BPA degradation efficiency of the LAC@MPEGDA@CS@IOH was maintained over a wider range of pH values and ***,its relative activity of was maintained at 70.4%after 10 cycles,and the system performed well in actual water *** efficientmethod for preparing immobilized laccases is simple and green,and it can be used to further develop ecofriendly biocatalysts to remove organic pollutants from wastewater.

Mechanisms and Efficacy of Chinese Herbal Medicines in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) is one of the most common diseases in elderly men, the incidence of which gradually increases with age and leads to lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS), which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. Chinese herbal medicines(CHMs) are widely used for the treatment of BPH in China and some other countries. To explore the molecular mechanisms of CHMs for BPH, we conducted a review based on peer-reviewed English-language publications in Pub Med and Web of Science databases from inception to December 31, 2023. This article primarily reviewed 32 papers on the use of CHMs and its active compounds in the treatment of BPH, covering animal and cell experiments, and identified relevant mechanisms of action. The results suggest that the mechanisms of action of CHMs in treating BPH may involve the regulation of sex hormones,downregulation of cell growth factors, anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects, inhibition of cell proliferation, and promotion of apoptosis. CHMs also exhibit α-blocker-like effects, with the potential to relax urethral smooth muscle and alleviate LUTS. Additionally, we also reviewed 4 clinical trials and meta-analyses of CHMs for the treatment of BPH patients, which provided initial evidence of the safety and effectiveness of CHMs treatment. CHMs treatment for BPH shows advantages as a multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway therapy, which can mitigate the severity of the disease, improve LUTS, and may become a reliable treatment option in the future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the hypoglycemic effect and mechanism of D endrobium officinale polysaccharide(DOP)on type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)mice established by high-fat diet and *** results showed that DOP improved glycolipid metabolism and serum inflammation levels,and inhibited intestinal-derived lipopolysaccharide(LPS)translocation,suggesting that inhibiting LPS-mediated intestinal barrier damage may be a key target for DOP to alleviate ***,the study found that DOP reduced intestinal inflammation and oxidative stress levels,significantly up-regulated the mRNA expression of tight junction proteins Claudin-1,Occludin and zonula occluden-1(ZO-1),and ameliorated intestinal epithelial *** addition,DOP strongly inhibited the intestinal pathogenic bacteria and LPS-producing bacteria Helicobacter,Enterococcus and Desulfovibrio with a reduction rate of 95%,73% and 9%,respectively,and promoted the proliferation of anti-inflammatory bacteria Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus by 139% and 8%,*** together,the hypoglycemic effect of DOP was related to the protection of intestinal mucosal barrier,and its underlying mechanism lied in its excellent anti-inflammatory and gut microbiotamodulatory effects,providing a theoretical basis for developing DOP as a novel prebiotic in functional food for diabetes.

Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of Juan Bi Pill(JBP)in treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods:From February 2017 to may 2018,115 participants from 4 centers were randomly divided into JBP group(57 cases)and placebo group(58 cases)in a 1:1 ratio using a random number table *** received a dose of JBP(4 g,twice a day,orally)combined with methotrexate(MTX,10 mg per week)or placebo(4 g,twice a day,orally)combined with MTX for 12 *** were required with follow-up visits at 24 and 48 weeks,attending 7 assessment *** were undergo disease activity assessment 7 times(at baseline and 2,4,8,12,24,48 weeks)and safety assessments 6 times(at baseline and 4,8,12,24,48 weeks).The primary endpoint was 28-joint Disease Activity Score(DAS28-ESR and DAS28-CRP).The secondary endpoints included American College of Rheumatology(ACR)criteria for 20%and 50%improvement(ACR20/50),Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index(HAQ-DI),clinical disease activity index(CDAI),visual analog scale(VAS),Short Form-36(SF-36)score,Medial Outcomes Study(MOS)sleep scale score,serum erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP),tender joint count,swollen joint count,and morning *** adverse reactions were observed during the ***:After 12 weeks of treatment,DAS28-ESR and DAS28-CRP scores in both groups were lower than before treatment(both P<0.01),while the remission rate of DAS28-ESR and DAS28-CRP and low disease activity of JBP group were higher than those in the placebo group(both P<0.01).JBP demonstrated better efficacy on ACR20 and ACR50 compliance rate at 12 and 48 weeks comparing to placebo(all P<0.05).The CDAI and HAQ-DI score,pain VAS and global VAS change of RA patients and physicians,the serum ESR and CRP levels,and the number of tenderness and swelling joints were lower than before treatment at 4,8,12,24,48 weeks in both groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01),while the reduction of above indices in
