In the twin-roll strip casting process,molten steel solidifies by losing heat through its interface with the casting rollers.The heat extraction along this interface has an effect on the quality of the strips and should be affected by coating,rolls’material,and cooling water flow rate.It is necessary to understand the effect of these casting parameters on the solidification structure of twin-roll strip casting.A three-dimensional computational domain is set up to simulate the solidification process of molten steel and heat exchange between steel strip/air,coating,rolls,and cooling water in the channel of roll sleeves.The effect of the cooling water intensity and flow intensity of molten steel in the pool on the solidification structures is studied during the thermal cycle of rolls in the twin-roll strip casting.These predicted results are helpful to optimize casting parameters and improve the strip quality in the twin-roll strip casting process.

Shockwaves from fuel-air explosive(FAE)cloud explosions may cause significant casualties.The ground overpressure field is usually used to evaluate the damage range of explosion shockwaves.In this paper,a finite element model of multi-sources FAE explosion is established to simulate the process of multiple shockwaves propagation and interaction.The model is verified with the experimental data of a fourfoldsource FAE explosion,with the total fuel mass of 340 kg.Simulation results show that the overpressure fields of multi-sources FAE explosions are different from that of the single-source.In the case of multisources,the overpressure fields are influenced significantly by source scattering distance and source number.Subsequently,damage ranges of overpressure under three different levels are calculated.Within a suitable source scattering distance,the damage range of multi-sources situation is greater than that of the single-source,under the same amount of total fuel mass.This research provides a basis for personnel shockwave protection from multi-sources FAE explosion.

Skeletal muscle regeneration is a complex process where various cell types and cytokines are involved.Single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) provides the opportunity to deconvolute heterogeneous tissue into individual cells based on their transcriptomic profiles.Recent scRNA-seq studies on mouse muscle regeneration have provided insights to understand the transcriptional dynamics that underpin muscle regeneration.However,a database to investigate gene expression profiling during skeletal muscle regeneration at the single-cell level is lacking.Here,we collected over 105 000 cells at 7 key regenerative time-points and non-injured muscles and developed a database,the Singlecell Skeletal Muscle Regeneration Database (SCSMRD).SCSMRD allows users to search the dynamic expression profiles of genes of interest across different cell types during the skeletal muscle regeneration process.It also provides a network to show the activity of regulons in different cell types at different time points.Pesudotime analysis showed the state changes trajectory of muscle stem cells (MuSCs) during skeletal muscle regeneration.This database is freely available at https://***.

Uncovering Microstructure-Property Relationship in Ni-Alloyed Fe-Mn-Al-C Low-Density Steel Treated by Hot-Rolling and Air-Cooling Process

This paper focuses on the relationship between the microstructure and tensile properties of Fe-Mn-Al-C low-density high-strength steel processes by hot-rolling and air-cooling process. The microstructure analysis reveals that the combination of hot-rolling and air-cooling results in the formation of heterogeneous structures comprising different-sized γ and B_(2) phases in the low-density steel with the addition of nickel (Ni). The addition of Ni promotes the formation of the B_(2) phase and induces the pinning of B_(2) phase particles at the γ grain boundaries. This pinning effect effectively hinders the growth of the γ grains, leading to grain refinement. The tensile test results demonstrate that LDS-5Ni (low-density steel, LDS) exhibits excellent high strength and ductility combination, e.g., a tensile strength of 1535 MPa, yield strength of 1482 MPa, and elongation of 23.3%. These remarkable mechanical properties are primarily attributed to the combined strengthening contributions of grain refinement and duplex nano-sized second-phase precipitation hardening.

Regulative effect of Mg/Si ratio on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of cast Al-Li-Mg-Si alloys

The effect of the Mg/Si ratio of Al-2.5Li-1Cu-0.8Mg-0.8Si,Al-2.5Li-1Cu-1.6Mg-0.8Si,and Al-2.5Li-1Cu-2.4Mg-0.8Si alloys on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties was investigated.The results show that the primary phases and their morphologies in the as-cast alloys are found to vary with the Mg/Si ratio.The improvement of Mg/Si ratio of as-cast alloys promotes the formation of Mg_(2)Si primary phase at the expense of the AlLiSi primary phase.Moreover,a tiny amount of T_(B)-Al_(7.5)Cu_(4)Li phase transforms into S-Al_(2)CuMg phase with the increase of Mg content.In addition,the increase of Mg/Si ratio also causes the Cu-rich intergranular phase distributed along crystal boundary to Si-rich intergranular phase.After ageing treatment,the precipitation sequence as a function of Mg/Si ratio is as follows:δ/δ'+AlLiSi(Mg/Si is~1)→δ/δ'+β'-Mg_(2)Si+AlLiSi(Mg/Si is~2)→δ/δ'+β'-Mg_(2)Si(Mg/Si is~3).A good combination of strength and ductility can be obtained in Al-2.5Li-1Cu-2.4Mg-0.8Si alloy after solution and ageing.The rod-likeβ'-Mg_(2)Si precipitate has a positive influence on the comprehensive mechanical properties of the alloy.

Background:Acute myeloid leukemia(AML)is a common type of hematological malignancy in elderly people.Geriatricians developed comprehensive geriatric assessment(CGA)methods for elderly patients;however,the tools used for CGA in AML are not uniform.Thus,we aimed to validate the instrumental activities of daily living(IADL)scales,age,comorbidities(Charlson Comorbidity Index),and albumin(IACA)index,which is a new tool for CGA,in elderly patients with AML.Methods:Patients aged>60 years who had been diagnosed with AML were screened for eligibility.Among the IACA low-,intermediate-,and high-risk groups,continuous variables were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test,and categorical variables were compared using/2 and Fisher exact tests.In addition,probabilities of overall survival(OS)were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method.Results:A total of 21,34,and 6 patients were categorized into IACA low-risk(0 point),intermediate-risk(1-2 points),and high-risk(>3 points)groups,respectively.The rates of relapse/progression-related mortality were 23.8%,58.8%,and 100.0%in the IACA low-,intermediate-,and high-risk groups,respectively(χ^2=12.81,P<0.001).The 2-year probabilities of OS were 47.7%(95%confidence interval[CI]22.8%-72.6%)and 20.2%(95%CI 5.9%-34.5%)in the IACA low-and intermediate-risk groups,respectively(χ^2=5.99,P=0.014),which were significantly higher than those in the high-risk group(low-risk[47.7%(95%CI 22.8%-72.6%)]vs.high-risk[0],/=20.80,P<0.001;intermediate-risk[20.2%(95%CI 5.9%-34.5%)]vs.high-risk[0],χ^2=7.56,P=0.006;respectively).In the IACA low-risk group,the 2-year probability of OS in patients receiving induction chemotherapy(50.8%[95%CI 24.1%-77.5%])was significantly higher than that in those receiving best supportive care(0,χ^2=25.74,P<0.001).Conclusion:We suggest that the IACA index might be a simple and effective tool for comprehensive geriatric assessment in elderly AML patients.

Rapid and large area acquisition of nitrogen(N)deficiency status is important for achieving the optimal fertilization of rice.Most existing studies,however,focus on the use of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)remote sensing to diagnose N nutrition in rice,while there are fewer studies on the quantitative description of the degree of N deficiency in rice,and the effects of the critical N concentration on the spectral changes in rice have rarely been explored.Therefore,based on the canopy spectral data obtained by remotely-sensed UAV hyperspectral images,the N content in rice was obtained through field sampling.The construction method of the rice curve for the northeastern critical N concentration was studied,and on this basis,N deficiency was determined.Taking the spectrum of the critical N concentration state as the standard spectrum,the spectral reflectivity data were transformed by the ratios and differences,and the feature extraction of the spectral data was carried out by the successive projections algorithm(SPA).Finally,by taking the characteristic band as the input variable and N deficiency as the output variable,a set of multivariate linear regression(MLR),long short-term memory(LSTM)inversion models based on extreme learning machine(ELM),and the nondominated sorting genetic algorithmⅢextreme learning machine(NSGA-Ⅲ-ELM)were constructed.The results showed two key aspects of this system:1)The correlation between the N deficiency data and original spectrum was poor,but the correlation between the N deficiency data and N deficiency could be improved by a difference change and ratio transformation;2)The inversion results based on the ratio spectrum and NSGA-Ⅲ-ELM algorithm were the best,as the R2values of the training set and validation set were 0.852 and 0.810,and the root mean square error(RMSE)values were 0.291 and 0.308,respectively.From the perspective of the spectral data,the inversion accuracy of the ratio spectrum was better than the accuracy of the original spectrum or difference spectrum.At the algorithm

The microwave treatment is commonly applied to flaxseed to release nutrients, inactivate enzymes, remove cyanogens,and intensify flavors. The current study aimed to explore the influences of microwave exposure on the antioxidant and interfacial properties of flaxseed protein isolates(FPI), focusing on the altering composition and molecular structure.The results showed that after microwave exposure(700 W, 1–5 min), more compact assembly of storage proteins and subsequent permeation by membrane fragments of oil bodies occurred for cold-pressing flaxseed flours. Moreover, the particle sizes of FPI was progressively reduced with the decrement ranged from 37.84 to 60.66%(P<0.05), whereas the zeta potential values initially decreased and then substantially recovered during 1–5 min of microwave exposure. The conformation unfolding, chain cross-linking, and depolymerization were sequentially induced for FPI based on the analysis of fluorescence emission spectra, secondary structure, and protein subunit profiles, thereby affecting the dispersion or aggregation properties between albumin and globulin fractions in FPI. Microwave exposure retained specific phenolic acids and superior in vitro antioxidant activities of FPI. The inferior gas–water interface absorption and the loose/porous assembly structure were observed for the foams prepared by FPI, concurrent with obviously shrinking foaming properties upon microwave exposure. Improving oil–water interface activities of FPI produced the emulsion droplets with descending sizes and dense interface coating, which were then mildly destabilized due to the lipid leakage and weakened rheological behavior with microwave exposure extended to 5 min. Our findings elucidated that microwave treatment could tailor the application functionality of protein fractions in flaxseed based on their in situ structural remodeling.

Objective: To identify the core targets of Rheum palmatum L. and Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge.,(Dahuang-Danshen, DH-DS) and the mechanism underlying its therapeutic efficacy in acute pancreatitis(AP)using a network pharmacology approach and validate the findings in animal experiments. Methods: Network pharmacology analysis was used to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of DH-DS in AP. The reliability of the results was verified by molecular docking simulation and molecular dynamics simulation.Finally, the results of network pharmacology enrichment analysis were verified by immunohistochemistry,Western blot analysis and real-time quantitative PCR, respectively. Results: Sixty-seven common targets of DH-DS in AP were identified and mitogen-activated protein kinase 3(MAPK3), Janus kinase 2(JAK2), signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3), protein c-Fos(FOS) were identified as core targets in the protein interaction(PPI) network analysis. Gene ontology analysis showed that cellular response to organic substance was the main functions of DH-DS in AP, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis showed that the main pathway included Th17 cell differentiation. Molecular docking simulation confirmed that DH-DS binds with strong affinity to MAPK3, STAT3 and FOS. Molecular dynamics simulation revealed that FOS-isotanshinone Ⅱ and STAT3-dan-shexinkum d had good binding capacity. Animal experiments indicated that compared with the AP model group, DH-DS treatment effectively alleviated AP by inhibiting the expression of interleukin-1β, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α, and blocking the activation of Th17 cell differentiation(P<0.01). Conclusion: DH-DS could inhibit the expression of inflammatory factors and protect pancreatic tissues,which would be functioned by regulating Th17 cell differentiation-related m RNA and protein expressions.

We present the first systematic hydrogeological analysis to grain insights on the evolution of the Gonghe Basin in North China. Two hundred and forty seven water samples were collected from the Gonghe East Basin, Gonghe West Basin and Chaka Basin. The three groundwater systems of Gonghe Basin from west to east display different geochemical signatures. Based on Na/Cl ratios and Langelier-Ludwig diagram, it is inferred that the groundwater recharge potential of the Gonghe East Basin is much prosperous than the other areas. The renewability of the aquifers in alluvial-proluvial fan of Wahonghe and Gonghe East Basin margin is much faster than in the other basins. The groundwater quality in Chaka Salt Lake,Shazhuyu and Qiabuqia River Valley plains is low due to strong evaporation and cation exchange. The groundwater quality of the phreatic aquifers in the Qiabuqia River Valley plain is further deteriorated by mixing of high-arsenic and high-mineralization water from the deep fault structures.
