Objective:Cymbopogon citratus(DC.)Stapf is a medicinal and edible herb that is widely used for the treatment of gastric,nervous and hypertensive *** this study,we investigated the cardioprotective effects and mechanisms of the essential oil,the main active ingredient of Cymbopogon citratus,on isoproterenol(ISO)-induced cardiomyocyte ***:The compositions of Cymbopogon citratus essential oil(CCEO)were determined by gas chromatography-mass *** were pretreated with 16.9µg/L CCEO for 1 h followed by 10µmol/L ISO for 24 *** hypertrophy-related indicators and NLRP3 inflammasome expression were ***,transcriptome sequencing(RNA-seq)and target verification were used to further explore the underlying ***:Our results showed that the CCEO mainly included citronellal(45.66%),geraniol(23.32%),and citronellol(10.37%).CCEO inhibited ISO-induced increases in cell surface area and protein content,as well as the upregulation of fetal gene ***,CCEO inhibited ISO-induced NLRP3 inflammasome expression,as evidenced by decreased lactate dehydrogenase content and downregulated mRNA levels of NLRP3,ASC,CASP1,GSDMD,and IL-1β,as well as reduced protein levels of NLRP3,ASC,pro-caspase-1,caspase-1(p20),GSDMD-FL,GSDMD-N,and pro-IL-1β.The RNA-seq results showed that CCEO inhibited the increase in the mRNA levels of 26 oxidative phosphorylation complex subunits in ISO-treated *** further experiments confirmed that CCEO suppressed ISO-induced upregulation of mt-Nd1,Sdhd,mt-Cytb,Uqcrq,and mt-Atp6 but had no obvious effects on mt-Col ***:CCEO inhibits ISO-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy through the suppression of NLRP3 inflammasome expression and the regulation of several oxidative phosphorylation complex subunits.

Engineering hydrogels that resemble biological tissues of various lengths via conventional fabrication techniques remains ***-dimensional(3D)bioprinting has emerged as an advanced approach for constructing complex biomimetic 3D architectures,which are currently restricted by the limited number of available bioinks with high printability,biomimicry,biocompatibility,and proper mechanical *** by ubiquitous coacervation phenomena in biology,we present a unique mineral-biopolymer coacervation strategy that enables the hierarchical assembly of nanoclay and recombinant human collagen(RHC).This system was observed to undergo a coacervation transition(liquid‒liquid phase separation)*** formed dense phase separated from its supernatant is the coacervate of clay-RHC-rich complexes,where polymer chains are sandwiched between silicate *** dynamics simulation was first used to verify and explore the coacervation ***,the coacervates were demonstrated to be potential bioinks that exhibited excellent self-supporting and shear-thinning viscoelastic *** extrusion-based printing,the versatility of the bioink was demonstrated by reconstructing the key features of several biological tissues,including multilayered lattice,vascular,nose,and ear-like structures,without the need for precrosslinking operations or support ***,the printed scaffolds were cytocompatible,elicited minimal inflammatory responses,and promoted bone regeneration in calvarial defects.

Fruit wart is an important appearance trait influencing consumer preferences of bitter gourd(Momordica charantia L.).The molecular genetic mechanisms underlying fruit wart formation in bitter gourd are largely *** this study,genetic analysis based on four generations showed that fruit wart formation in bitter gourd was controlled by a single dominant locus named as *** Fwa locus was initially mapped into a 4.82 Mb region on pseudochromosome 4 by BSA-seq analysis and subsequently narrowed down to a 286.30 kb region by linkage analysis.A large F2population consisting of 2360 individuals was used to screen recombinants,and the Fwa locus was finally fine mapped into a 22.70 kb region harboring four protein-coding genes through recombination ***04g1399,encoding an epidermal patterning factor 2-like protein,was proposed as the best candidate gene for Fwa via sequence variation and expression *** addition,a 1-bp insertion and deletion(InDel)variation within MC04g1399 was converted to a cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(CAPS)marker that could precisely distinguish between the warty and non-warty types with an accuracy rate of 100%among a wide panel of 126 bitter gourd germplasm *** results not only provide a scientific basis for deciphering the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit wart formation but also provide a powerful tool for efficient genetic improvement of fruit wart via marker-assisted selection.

Advanced oxidation via the synergy of C-defective/C-O band modified ultrathin porous g-C3N4 and PMS for efficient photothermal degradation of bisphenol pollutants and lignin derivatives

This work uses thermal polymerization of urea nitrate, oxyacetic acid and urea as the raw material to prepare ultra-thin porous carbon nitride with carbon defects and C-O band（OA-UN-CN）. Density functional theory（DFT） calculations showed OA-UN-CN had narrower band gap,faster electron transport and a new internal construction electric field. Additionally, the prepared OA-UN-CN significantly enhanced photocatalytic activation of peroxymonosulfate（PMS） due to enhanced light absorption performance and faster electron overflow. As the result, the OA-UN-CN/PMS could entirely degrade bisphenol A（BPA） within 30 min, where the photodegradation rate was 81.8 and 7.9 times higher than that of g-C3N4and OA-UN-CN, respectively. Beyond, the OA-UN-CN/PMS could likewise degrade other bisphenol pollutants and sodium lignosulfonate efficiently. We suggested possible photocatalytic degradation pathways accordingly and explored the toxicity of its degradation products. This work provides a new idea on the development of advanced photocatalytic oxidation processes for the treatment of bisphenol pollutants and lignin derivatives, via a metal-free photothermal-catalyst.

Here,a novel strategy is proposed targeting the volatility of A-site cations and the disordered arrangement of perovskite grains through employing Cs~+contained metal-organic frameworks In-aip(Cs)obtained by ion-exchange and crystalline *** forces between Cs-O atoms split the pore channels of the pristine In-aip,endowing In-aip(Cs)with multidimensional charge transport channels,In addition,the partially freed Cs~+in the interlayer compensates for the vacancy of A-site cations during the perovskite preparation *** In-aip(Cs)modified perovskite films have a flat morphology,large grains and excellent optoelectronic *** from the high-quality perovskite films and faster charge extraction,the In-aip(Cs)-modified PSCs achieved a champion PCE of 23.03%,superior to the In-aip-modified(22.29%)and control device(21.13%),More importantly,the unencapsulated PSCs modified with In-aip(Cs)exhibited outstanding humidity and thermal *** a period of almost 1000 h,the unencapsulated In-aip(Cs)-modified device retained 85%of its initial PCE after storing in a glove box at 85℃,and retained 87%of the primary PCE upon storage in ambient condition at 25℃under a humidity of 40%.

Triboelectric‘electrostatic tweezers'for manipulating droplets on lubricated slippery surfaces prepared by femtosecond laser processing

The use of‘Electrostatic tweezers'is a promising tool for droplet manipulation,but it faces many limitations in manipulating droplets on superhydrophobic ***,we achieve noncontact and multifunctional droplet manipulation on Nepenthes-inspired lubricated slippery surfaces via triboelectric electrostatic tweezers(TETs).The TET manipulation of droplets on a slippery surface has many advantages over electrostatic droplet manipulation on a superhydrophobic *** electrostatic field induces the redistribution of the charges inside the neutral droplet,which causes the triboelectric charged rod to drive the droplet to move forward under the electrostatic *** or negatively charged droplets can also be driven by TET based on electrostatic attraction and *** enables us to manipulate droplets under diverse conditions,including anti-gravity climb,suspended droplets,corrosive liquids,low-surface-tension liquids(*** with a surface tension of 22.3 mN·m^(-1)),different droplet volumes(from 100 nl to 0.5 ml),passing through narrow slits,sliding over damaged areas,on various solid substrates,and even droplets in an enclosed *** droplet-related applications,such as motion guidance,motion switching,droplet-based microreactions,surface cleaning,surface defogging,liquid sorting,and cell labeling,can be easily achieved with TETs.

Dielectric capacitors with a fast charging/discharging rate,high power density,and long-term stability are essential components in modern electrical ***,miniaturizing and integrating capacitors face a persistent challenge in improving their energy density(W_(rec))to satisfy the specifications of advanced electronic systems and *** this work,leveraging phase-field simulations,we judiciously designed a novel lead-free relaxor ferroelectric material for enhanced energy storage performance,featuring flexible distributed weakly polar endotaxial nanostructures(ENs)embedded within a strongly polar fluctuation *** matrix contributes to substantially enhanced polarization under an external electric field,and the randomly dispersed ENs effectively optimize breakdown phase proportion and provide a strong restoring force,which are advantageous in bolstering breakdown strength and minimizing ***,this relaxor ferroelectric system incorporating ENs achieves an exceptionally high W_(rec)value of 10.3 J/cm^(3),accompanied by a large energy storage efficiency(η)of 85.4%.This work introduces a promising avenue for designing new relaxor materials capable of capacitive energy storage with exceptional performance characteristics.

In recent years,researchers have become focused on the relationship between lipids and bone metabolism ***,many diseases related to lipid metabolism dis-orders,such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease,atherosclerosis,obesity,and menopause,are associated with osteoporotic *** has been clinically observed in humans that these lipid metabolism disorders promote changes in osteoporosis-related indicators bone mineral density and bone ***,similar osteoporotic phenotype changes were observed in high-fat and high-cholesterol-induced animal *** lipid metabolism(such as increased oxidized lipids and elevated plasma cholesterol)affects bone microenvironment ho-meostasis via cross-organ communication,promoting differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells to adipocytes,and inhibiting commitment towards ***,disturbances in lipid metabolism affect the bone metabolism balance by promoting the secretion of cyto-kines such as receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand by osteoblasts and stimulating the differentiation of ***,this review addresses the possible link be-tween lipid metabolism disorders and osteoporosis and elucidates the potential modulatory mechanisms and signaling pathways by which lipid metabolism affects bone metabolism *** also summarize the possible approaches and prospects of intervening lipid meta-bolismforosteoporosistreatment.
