Ferricyanide-promoted oxidative activation of Nacylatedα-aminothioacids for amide bond formation withα-aminonitriles was recently shown to be a plausible pathway for prebiotic peptide *** we describe the finding that by adding sodium azide and thiols,ferricyanide oxidation can elicit highly efficient and clean conversion of fully unprotected peptide or protein thioacids in neutral aqueous media to the corresponding *** transformation enables the development of ferricyanide-promoted thioacid-based native chemical ligation(NCL)as a new redox-based method for chemical protein synthesis,which does not need to change pH and is therefore operationally easy for ligation at small *** effectiveness of the ferricyanide-promoted thioacid-based NCL was illustrated by synthesis of an ISG15-modified MDA5 segment under nondenaturing conditions and synthesis of an acetylated ubiquitin(Ub)-modified histone H2A through an N-to-C sequential *** work broadens the concept of on-demand oxidative activation strategy for protein ligation and provides a new useful supplement to the repertoire of methods for chemical protein synthesis,particularly for studies on proteins carrying Ub family modifications.

Tensile reliability analysis for gravity dam foundation surface based on FEM and response surface method

In this study, the limit state equation for tensile reliability analysis of the foundation surface of a gravity dam was established. The possible crack length was set as the action effect and allowable crack length was set as the resistance in the limit state. The nonlinear FEM was used to obtain the crack length of the foundation surface of the gravity dam, and the linear response surface method based on the orthogonal test design method was used to calculate the reliability, providing a reasonable and simple method for calculating the reliability of the serviceability limit state. The Longtan RCC gravity dam was chosen as an example. An orthogonal test, including eleven factors and two levels, was conducted, and the tensile reliability was calculated. The analysis shows that this method is reasonable.

Soil undergoes both elastic and plastic deformations under different loading conditions. A relatively accurate constitutive model of soil behaviors should be capable of predicting the elastic and plastic deformations properly. Among a large number of elastoplastic constitutive models developed over the last several decades, constitutive models based on generalized plasticity have been successfully utilized in modeling the mechanical behavior of various soils. This paper attempts to present a review of the most recent developments of generalized plasticity models for geotechnical problems. After a brief review of generalized plasticity theories and constitutive models, limitations of the original Pastor-Zienkiewicz model in practical application are summarized. Afterwards, recent achievements in the generalized plasticity models for both saturated and unsaturated soils and their applicability are analyzed, and a general approach for modification of generalized plasticity models is highlighted.

Effect of Sonic hedgehog gene-modified bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on graft-induced retinal gliosis and retinal ganglion cells survival in diabetic mice

RARRES2 regulates lipid metabolic reprogramming to mediate the development of brain metastasis in triple negative breast cancer

A highly sensitive multiple-mode optical thermometer designed in Eu^(2+/3+)and li^(+)co-doped polymorphism compound LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4)

Noncontact optical thermometers have attracted widespread attention,but existing problems such as single-mode and low-sensitivity thermometers still urgently need to be ***,a novel multiple-mode thermometer was designed for the polymorphism LaSc_(3)(BO_(3))_(4):Eu^(2+/3+),li^(+).X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns revealed a slight transition betweenα-andβ-phases with the concentrations of the dopants,which is further proved by structure refinements and first-principles *** coexistence of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)in the phosphors and their relative percentages were confirmed by X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)*** from appropriate emissions from Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)without obvious energy transfer and their opposite changing trends with temperatures under 307 nm excitation,a triple-mode optical thermometer is obtained for this material within the temperature range of 150–450 *** highest sensitivities of 27.65,14.05,and 7.68%·K^(−1)are achieved based on two fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)modes of Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)(5d–4f/^(5)D_(0)–^(7)F_(2,4))and the fluorescence lifetime(FL)mode of Eu^(2+),*** the best of our knowledge,the former is almost the highest in Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)co-doped *** results indicate that this material may be used as an excellent multiple-mode optical thermometer.

This work uses thermal polymerization of urea nitrate,oxyacetic acid and urea as the raw material to prepare ultra-thin porous carbon nitride with carbon defects and C-O band(OA-UN-CN).Density functional theory(DFT)calculations showed OA-UN-CN had narrower band gap,faster electron transport and a new internal construction electric ***,the prepared OA-UN-CN significantly enhanced photocatalytic activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)due to enhanced light absorption performance and faster electron *** the result,the OA-UN-CN/PMS could entirely degrade bisphenol A(BPA)within 30 min,where the photodegradation rate was 81.8 and 7.9 times higher than that of g-C_(3)N_(4)and OA-UN-CN,***,the OA-UN-CN/PMS could likewise degrade other bisphenol pollutants and sodium lignosulfonate *** suggested possible photocatalytic degradation pathways accordingly and explored the toxicity of its degradation *** work provides a new idea on the development of advanced photocatalytic oxidation processes for the treatment of bisphenol pollutants and lignin derivatives,via a metal-free photothermal-catalyst.
