DEAR editor,Big cats,such as Amur tigers(Panthera tigris altaica)and Amur leopards(P.pardus orientalis),are apex predator and have evolved specialized traits for hunting and carnivory(Moya et al.,2022),thus playing a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem integrity by regulating prey-predator dynamics.However,human-induced pressures,habitat fragmentation,and environmental alterations have restricted these species in small and isolated populations.Currently,all extant big cats are categorized as endangered or threatened according to their conservation status.Amur tigers and Amur leopards share overlapping geographic ranges,habitats,and certain prey species in the forests of Northeast Asia(Jiang et al.,2015).To reduce interspecies conflict,these carnivores exhibit differentiated dietary and temporal niches.Amur tigers predominantly prey on large ungulates,while Amur leopards hunt small to medium-sized animals(Sugimoto et al.,2016).Additionally,they occupy different temporal niches,with tigers being active at night and leopards more active during the day.Despite spatial and temporal niche partitioning,interspecific competition between these two species is inevitable.Tigers,benefiting from their greater size,have a competitive advantage over leopards,which can manifest in occasional leopard predation by tigers and declines in leopard populations with increasing tiger density(Jiang et al.,2015).Tigers also displace leopards from marginal habitats in nature reserves where they coexist.

针对图像序列中多目标检测和跟踪算法结构复杂、计算量大、性能降低等问题,提出一种基于代价参考粒子滤波器组的多目标检测前跟踪(Cost-reference particle filter bank based multi-target track-before-detect, CRPFB-MTBD)算法,将多目标跟踪问题转换为序贯地检测和跟踪多个单目标的问题.首先,采用代价参考粒子滤波器组序贯地估计所有可能单目标状态序列;其次,基于所有可能单目标状态序列的欧氏距离和累积代价确定目标数量;最后,根据累积代价判断每个目标出现和消失的具体时刻.仿真实验验证了CRPFB-MTBD的优良性能,与基于传统粒子滤波的多目标检测前跟踪算法(Particle filter based multi-target track-before-detect, PF-MTBD)、基于概率假设密度的检测前跟踪算法(Probability hypothesis density based track-before-detect, phd-TBD)和基于伯努利滤波的检测前跟踪算法(Bernoulli based track-before-detect, Bernoulli-TBD)相比, CRPFB-MTBD的目标状态序列和数量估计结果最佳,且平均单次运行时间极短.

The 2011 jipb editorial Board Meeting, which coincided with the 2011 International Symposium on Integrative Plant Biology, was held at Lanzhou University, China, on August 26, 2011. Over thirty editors were in attendance for this extremely productive event （Figure 1）. The symposium, jointly organized by jipb, Lanzhou University and four Chinese societies involved in plant science research, the Chinese Society for Cell Biology, Botanical Society of China, Genetics Society of China, and Chinese Society for Plant Physiology, drew nearly 400 participants from all over China and abroad.

Benefited from the speedy development of omic tools and the use of model plants, such as rice, Arabidopsis and Medicargo, plant biologists have recently made tremendous breakthroughs in understanding plant growth, development, and response to environmental changes. Many fundamental questions, such as flower initiation, light signal transduction, intercellular communication, genomic composition and epigenetic regulation, etc,, have been resolved during the past two decades, Several dedicated plant science journals, such as The Plant Cell, The Plant Journal and Plant ＆ Cell Biology contributed to this progress through the publication of seminal articles that allowed scientists in the community to communicate with each other, to share their expertise and experimental materials.

The annual editorial board meeting of jipb, which this year coincided with the 2009 Integrative Plant Biology Symposium in the seaside town of Yantai, China, was recently concluded. Twenty-four editors attended the very constructive meeting （Figure 1）. The symposium, partially sponsored by jipb, attracted more than 300 participants from Chinese universities and research organizations.

In 1952, when botany was still regarded as a ＂new science＂ in China, a quarterly journal named Acta Botanica Sinica （ABS） was established by the Botanical Society of China. Dr. Shih- Wei Loo received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology （CIT） in 1945, and was appointed as the journal＇s first editor-in-chief for his achievements in plant biology （Tang and Loo 1940; Loo and Wang 1943）. Since then, the journal has continuously nourished the growth of many Chinese botanists, except for a 5-year hiatus during the arduous Cultural Revolu- tion period between 1967 and 1972. By 1989, the journal began publishing monthly.

Dear editor,While most of the patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)cleared the virus within a few weeks of infection,some people have a persistent infection or persistent shedding viral RNA in the long term.The persistent detection of viral RNA in clinical specimens is unlikely to reflect either relapse or reinfection in most cases because the replication-competent virus is generally not recoverable after ten days following symptom onset in mild to moderate cases of COVID-191 and after 20 days in severe or immunocompromised cases.
