Double-confined nanoheterostructure Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3)@Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@C toward ultra-stable li-/Na-ion batteries

Antimony-based materials with high capacities and moderate potentials are promising anodes for lithium-/-sodium-ion ***,their tremendous volume expansion and inferior conductivity lead to poor structural stability and sluggish reaction ***,a doubleconfined nanoheterostructure Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3)@Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@C has been fabricated through a solvothermal method followed by low-temperature heat *** dual protection of“MXene”and“carbon”can better accommodate the volume expansion of Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3).The strong covalent bond(Ti-S,Ti-O-Sb,C-O-Sb)can firmly integrate Sb-based material with Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)and carbon,which significantly improves the structure *** addition,the carbon layer can restrain the oxidation of MXenes,and the nano-Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3)can facilitate electron/ion transport and suppress the restacking of *** heterogeneous interface between Sb and Sb_(2)S_(3)can further promote interfacial charge *** MXene-Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3)@C-1 with the optimal Sb content shows high specific capacities,comparable rate properties and ultra-stable cycling performances(250 m Ah·g^(-1)after 2500 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)for sodium-ion batteries).Ex situ X-ray diffractometer(XRD)test reveals the storage mechanism including the conversion and alloying process of MXene-Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3)@*** voltammetry(CV)test results demonstrate that the pseudocapacitance behavior is dominant in MXene-Sb/Sb_(2)S_(3)@C-1,especially at large *** design paves the way for exploring high-performance alloy-based/conversion-type anode for energy storage devices.

The dissolution performance of black aluminum dross(BAD)in cryolite electrolyte is key to its recovery by molten salt *** stable operation of the electrolyzer depends mainly on the rapid dissolution of BAD in Na_(3)AlF_(6)-AlF_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)electrolyte *** this paper,the dissolution performance and behavior of BAD and its main components in the cryolite system were studied,and the saturation solubility of aluminum nitride in this system was *** dissolution performance of BAD in cryolite electrolyte before and after denitration was compared,and the effects of temperature,cryolite ratio,and the doping ratio of BAD and alumina on the dissolution rate were *** obtained results showed that aluminum nitride was the main factor affecting the dissolution performance of BAD in the *** nitride was partly converted toα-Al_(2)O_(3)after addition to the electrolyte,and the convertedα-Al_(2)O_(3)was partially dissolved in the cryolite electrolyte,while the remaining precipitated and accumulated at the bottom with aluminum *** nitride was almost insoluble in the cryolite electrolyte,with 0.0022%solubility.A higher proportion ofα-Al_(2)O_(3)in BAD was negatively influenced its solubility in the cryolite *** dissolution rate of BAD in cryolite electrolytes was effectively improved by mixing BAD withγ-Al_(2)O_(3).

Research on the preparation of amorphous diamond nanorod arrays and their excellent field emitting properties

Amorphous diamond nanorod arrays with excellent field emitting have been fabricated firstly on the AAO template by the filtered cathodic arc plasma technique. Microscopic analysis has displayed that the nanorods are very uniformly distributed, and the density is very high up to ～109 cm-2. The nanorod arrays are found to have an extremely low turn-on field of 0.16 V/μm, which is lower than other reported materials, and a high- emission current density of 180 mA/cm2 under an applied field of 2 V/μm can also be obtained. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and filed emitting tester are employed to characterize the nanorod arrays. The field emission mechanism of the nanorod arrays is also discussed.

The Cysteine Pairs in CLV2 are Not Necessary for Sensing the CLV3 Peptide in Shoot and Root Meristems

Receptor-like proteins （RLPs） are involved in both plant defense and developmental processes. Previous genetic and biochemical studies show that the leucine-rich repeat （LRR） receptor-like protein CLAVATA2 （CLV2） functions together with CLAVATA1 （CLV1） and CORYNE （CRN） in Arabidopsis to limit the stem cell number in shoot apical meristem, while in root it acts with CRN to trigger a premature differentiation of the stem cells after sensing the exogenously applied peptides of CLV3p, CLE19p or CLE40p. It has been proposed that disulfide bonds might be formed through two cysteine pairs in the extracellular LRR domains of CLV1 and CLV2 to stabilize the receptor complex. Here we tested the hypothesis by replacing these cysteines with alanines and showed that depletions of one or both of the cysteine pairs do not hamper the function of CLV2 in SAM maintenance. In vitro peptide assay also showed that removal of the cysteine pairs did not affect the perception of CLV3 peptides in roots. These observations allow us to conclude that the formation of disulfide bonds is not needed for the function of CLV2.

The advantages of a cloud computing service are cost advantages,availability,scalability,ﬂexibility,reduced time to market,and dynamic access to computing *** can improve the successful adoption rate of cloud computing services if they understand the critical ***ﬁnd critical factors,this studyﬁrst reviewed the literature and established a three-layer hierarch-ical factor table for adopting a cloud computing service based on the Technology-Organization-Environment ***,a hybrid method that combines two multi-criteria decision-making tools—called the Fuzzy Analytic Network Process method and the concept of VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje acceptable advantage—was used to objectively identify critical factors for the adop-tion of a cloud computing service,replacing the subjective decision of the *** results of this study determinedﬁve critical factors,namely data access secur-ity,information transmission security,senior management support,fallback cloud management,and employee ***,the paper presents theﬁndings and implications of the study.

Segmented taper equations with crown ratio and stand density for Dahurian Larch (Larix gmelinii) in Northeastern China

Segmented taper equation was selected to model stem profile of Dahurian larch （Larix gmelinii Rupr.）. The data were based on stem analysis of 74 trees from Dailing Forest Bureau in Heilongjiang Province, Northeastern China. Two taper equations with crown ratio and stand basal area were derived from the Max and Burkhart’s （1976） taper equation. Three taper equations were evaluated：（1） the original equation, （2） the original equation with crown ratio, and （3） the original equation with basal area. SAS NliN and SYSNliN procedures were used to fit taper equations. Fit statistics and cross-validation were used to evaluate the accuracy and precision of these models. Parameter estimates showed that the original equation with inclusion of crown ratio and basal area variables provided significantly different parameter estimates with lower standard errors. Overall fit statistics indicated that the root mean square error （RMSE） for diameter outside and inside bark decreased respectively by 10% and 7% in the original model with crown ratio and by 12% and 7.2% in the original model with basal area. Cross-validation further confirmed that the original equation with inclusion of crown ratio and basal area variables provided more accurate predictions at the lower section （relative heights, 10%） and upper section （relative heights, 50%） for both outside and inside bark diameters.

Negativity of Wigner function and phase sensitivity of an SU(1,1) interferometer

Both the negativity of Wigner function and the phase sensitivity of an SU(1,1) interferometer are investigated in this paper. In the case that the even coherent state and squeezed vacuum state are input into the interferometer, the Heisenberg limit can be approached with parity detection. At the same time, the negativity volume of Wigner function of detection mode comes entirely from the input state and varies periodically with the encoding phase. In addition, the negativity volume of Wigner function is positively correlated with the phase sensitivity of the SU(1,1) interferometer. The positive correlation may mean that the non-classicality indicated by negative Wigner function is a kind of resource that can verify some related research results of phase estimation.

The miRNA let-7al inhibits the expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor （IGFIR） in prostate cancer PC-3 cells

Reduced microRNA （miRNA） let-7a expression and the activation of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor （IGFIR） signalling are both involved in prostate cancer and progression. In the present study, we demonstrated that the growth inhibitory effect of let-7al is directly related to targeting IGFIRgene expression in PC-3 cells. TargetScan predicted three potential target sites （T1, T2 and T3） of let-7a in the 3＇ untranslational region （3＇ UTR） of IGFIR mRNA. Real-time PCR, Western blot and luciferase reporter assays were used to detect the effects of let-7al overexpression or let-7al inhibitor on the IGFIRgene expression in PC-3 cells. The results indicated that let-7al could inhibit IGFIR expression by directly targeting the T1 and T2 sites in the 3＇ UTR of the IGFIR mRNA. We then used RT-PCR, luciferase reporter assays, 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide （MTT） assay, flow cytometry and Hoechst 33342 staining to examine whether let-7al-mediated inhibition of IGFIR expression also affects the IGFIR-mediated signalling events, including Elk1 activity and c-fos gene expression, proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle. We demonstrated that let-7al-mediated IGFIR downregulation was accompanied by attenuation of Elk1 activity and c-fos expression, inhibition of cell proliferation, enhanced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, and that loss function of let-7al via inhibition can upregulate IGF1R accompanied by an increase of Elk1 activity and c-fos expression, thereby enhancing cell proliferation. Altogether, these findings sueeest that let-7a mav be novel therapeutic candidate for Drostate cancer.

Anelasticity of twinned CuO nanowires

The mechanical behavior of CuO nanowires （NWs） was investigated by in situ transmission electron microscopy. During compression, the NWs exhibited high bending capabilities associated with high mechanical stress. Interestingly, anelasticity was consistently observed after stress release. Further investigations indicate that the anelasticity is intrinsic to the CuO NWs, although electron- beam irradiation was proved capable of accelerating the shape recovery. A mechanism based on the cooperative motion of twin-associated atoms is proposed to account for this phenomenon. The results provide insight into the mechanical properties of CuO NWs, which are promising materials for nanoscale damping systems.

Anomalous response to creep deformation from dislocation density during electrically assisted creep aging

Adding numerous dislocations into metallic materials before the forming stage significantly enhances their deformability. However, this beneficial effect of dislocation defects may not have a simple monotonic relationship with increased dislocation density during electroplastic deformation. This is due to the complex interactions among the drifting electrons, dislocations and solute atoms. This study explores the effect of diverse initial dislocation densities on creep deformation during electrically aided creep aging of an aluminum–lithium alloy. Surprisingly, we discovered a threshold value for the dislocation density that affects electroplastic creep, i.e., an enhanced effect from dislocations weakens when exceeding this density threshold(an anomalous response to creep). Microstructural data also reveal that such an anomalous response originates mainly from differences in various dislocation density-tailored configurations, which can influence the dislocation motions and precipitation kinetics of the strengthening T1precipitates under the same action of pulsed currents. This study provides important insights into the dislocation density-mediated electroplastic creep of an aluminum–lithium alloy.
