High-temperature compressive properties of TiC–TiB_2/Cu composites prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis

TiC-TiB2/Cu composites were prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis with pseudo hot isostatic pressing using Ti, B4C, and Cu powders. The compressive deformation of the composites at high tem- perature was investigated. It is found that the maximum compressive strength decreases with the increase of tem- perature and Cu content. The deformation of the composites includes the steps of elastic, stable theology, and inaction. The maximum strain is in the range of 5 %-10 %. Before fracture, TiC-TiB2/40Cu becomes drum-shaped at 1123 K; however, TiC-TiB2/20Cu only has a brittle frac- ture along the axial direction of 45~. The results show that the compressive strength of TiC-TiB2/Cu decreases from 823 to 1223 K. However, the maximum compressive strength of TiC-TiB2/20Cu reaches 1850 MPa at 823 K, which predicts that this series of composites could be applied to high-temperature compressive materials.

Ti_(3)AIC_(2)ceramics were heat treated at the temperature from 1050 to 1450℃.Vickers hardness,fracture toughness,flexural strength and compressive strength of Ti_(3)AlC_(2)were tested and calculated before and after heat treatment,***_(3)AIC_(2)content,fracture toughness,flexural strength and compressive strength of Ti_(3)AIC_(2)first increase and then decrease,while Vickers hardness is just the opposite with the increase in temperature from 1050 to 1450℃*** heat treatment at1250℃,Ti_(3)AIC_(2)content reaches the highest level of94.2 wt%,and fracture toughness,flexural strength and compressive strength reach the maximum values,which are6.4 MPa·m^(1/2),318 MPa and 662 MPa,*** hardness reduces to the lowest value of 2.9 *** treatment does improve the strength and Ti_(3)AlC_(2)content,but reduces the hardness and optimizes the mechanical properties of Ti_(3)AlC_(2).

Anthranilic diamides are fasting growing class insecticides in modern crop protection for their high activity, low ecotoxicity, and broad insecticidal spectra. However. the bioactive conformations of anthranilic diamides are still unclear until now. In the present study, DFT-based potential energy surface scanning was used to detect the low energy conformations of chlorantraniliprole, then were used respectively in the structure alignment for a series of anthranilic diamide compounds followed by detailed CoMFA and CoMSIA analyses. Finally, the bioactive conformations of anthranilic diamide insecticides were revealed from a series of low energy conformations, which might provide some clues for future insecticide design.

In this paper, phase composition of the Mn＋l- AXn phases by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis （SHS） was determined using Ti, Cr, A1, and carbon black as raw materials. And, phase composition and micro- structures of the Mn＋1AXn phases-contained bulk by SHS with the pseudo-hot isostatic pressing （SHS/PHIP） were investigated in Ti-Cr-AI-C systems raw materials. Riet- veld XRD refinement was introduced to study the lattice parameters and phase composition of the resultant phases from the SHSed and SHS/PHIPed samples. Ti2A1Cx, Ti3A1C2, and Cr2A1Cx by SHS were detected in the Ti-Cr- A1-C systems, as well as the binary carbide of TiC and intermetallics. The mechanical properties of the synthe- sized bulk samples were determined, exhibiting a high strength and toughness compared with the typical mono- lithic Mn＋1AXn phase ceramics. It is indicated that the samples prepared by SHS/PHIP are identified to be a strategy for improving the mechanical properties of monolithic Mn＋1AXn phase.

In this paper, Ti–Cr–Al–C materials were investigated by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis（SHS） according to the experimental study and numerical simulation results. The highest adiabatic combustion temperature Tadof 2,467.45 K indicates that the2Ti–0Cr–Al–C is the highest exothermic reaction system in the Ti–Cr–Al–C system. The adiabatic combustion temperature decreases with the increase of the Cr content. And a higher exothermal reaction would result in higher porosity which is induced by the high temperature and pressure of C reducing atmosphere and Al vapor. Combustion characterization of the products shows that the geometrical alternating layers result in the high exothermal reaction and flame-front propagating velocity. The higher the Tadis, the thinner the layer is. To demonstrate the process of the microscopic characterization and show the detailed combustion process closed to the experimental observations, the flame-front propagating velocity and temperature distribution were simulated numerically.

Electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction(NO3RR)to ammonia is a promising approach to address excess Ncontamination in aqueous environment but suffers from a limited ammonia yield and selectivity due to the low concentration and sluggish *** work reports a three-dimensional porous electrode with binary Co_(2)Cu_(1)hydroxy phosphate embedded into the surface of Ni_(3)Co_(1)oxy/hydroxides(CoCu-PH@NiCo/Ni,“PH”means phosphate-hydroxide),which delivers a yield of 4.13 mg·h^(-1)·cm^(-2)with a high Faraday efficiency of 92.6%under a low nitrate concentration of 40 mM and provide an impressive *** embedded structure of the as-prepared catalyst exhibits unique metal coordination ligands and valence states different from the unitary *** electrochemical in situ infrared spectra and theoretical calculations revealed that the Co sites with the ability to dissociate water molecular to form adsorbed OH*can effectively provide the required protons for the deoxygenation and hydrogenation steps during NO3-conversion,thereby,effectively reducing the energy barrier of the key transition states in the NO3RR process to improve the intrinsic *** demonstrate that the rational design of binary components with the appropriate ability to activate water molecules as well as the threedimensional porous skeletal structure are expected to promote effectively the low-concentration nitrates conversion to ammonia.

Garnet electrolytes with high ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability are widely used as fillers to fabricate composite solid electrolytes(CPEs)within polymer ***,the performance of CPEs is significantly influenced by the surface characteristics of the garnet ***,the impact of garnet surface characteristics on CPEs was systematically investigated and a conversion from a typically unstable and Lewis basic surface to a more stable Lewis acidic surface was realized,which is shown to be more conductive to the improved performance of *** simultaneously removing the Li_(2)CO_(3)layer and applying a Li-Al-O coating,the influence of surface characteristics on CPEs was *** Lewis acid Li-Al-O surface coating not only promotes lithium salt dissociation,improving the ionic conductivity and ionic transfer number,but also prevents the reformation of the passive Lewis basic Li_(2)CO_(3)*** to garnet with a Lewis basic Li_(2)CO_(3)surface,the garnet modified with a Lewis acid Li-Al-O coating enhances CPEs,which exhibit an improved critical current density of 1.0 mA·cm^(-2)and highly stable lithium symmetric cell cycling for 400 h at 0.2 mA·cm^(-2).This research highlights the importance of surface chemistry in the design of high-performance solid-state batteries and presents a strategic modification approach for garnetbased CPEs.
