Seasonal Characteristics of Forecasting Uncertainties in Surface PM_(2.5)Concentration Associated with Forecast Lead Time over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

Forecasting uncertainties among meteorological fields have long been recognized as the main limitation on the accuracy and predictability of air quality forecasts.However,the particular impact of meteorological forecasting uncertainties on air quality forecasts specific to different seasons is still not well known.In this study,a series of forecasts with different forecast lead times for January,April,July,and October of 2018 are conducted over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region and the impacts of meteorological forecasting uncertainties on surface PM_(2.5)concentration forecasts with each lead time are investigated.With increased lead time,the forecasted PM_(2.5)concentrations significantly change and demonstrate obvious seasonal variations.In general,the forecasting uncertainties in monthly mean surface PM_(2.5)concentrations in the BTH region due to lead time are the largest(80%)in spring,followed by autumn(~50%),summer(~40%),and winter(20%).In winter,the forecasting uncertainties in total surface PM_(2.5)mass due to lead time are mainly due to the uncertainties in PBL heights and hence the PBL mixing of anthropogenic primary particles.In spring,the forecasting uncertainties are mainly from the impacts of lead time on lower-tropospheric northwesterly winds,thereby further enhancing the condensation production of anthropogenic secondary particles by the long-range transport of natural dust.In summer,the forecasting uncertainties result mainly from the decrease in dry and wet deposition rates,which are associated with the reduction of near-surface wind speed and precipitation rate.In autumn,the forecasting uncertainties arise mainly from the change in the transport of remote natural dust and anthropogenic particles,which is associated with changes in the large-scale circulation.

Transition metal oxides have attracted intense interest owing to their abundant physical and chemical properties.The controlled preparation of large-area,high-quality two-dimensional crystals is essential for revealing their inherent properties and realizing high-performance devices.However,fabricating two-dimensional(2D)transition metal oxides using a general approach still presents substantial challenges.Herein,we successfully achieve highly crystalline nickel oxide(NiO)flakes with a thickness as thin as 3.3 nm through the salt-assisted vapor-liquid-solid(VLS)growth method,which demonstrated exceptional stability under ambient conditions.To explore the great potential of the NiO crystal in this work,an artificial synapse based on the NiO-flake resistive switching(RS)layer is investigated.Short-term and long-term synaptic behaviors are obtained with external stimuli.The artificial synaptic performance provides the foundation of the neuromorphic application,including handwriting number recognition based on artificial neuron network(ANN)and the virtually unsupervised learning capability based on generative adversarial network(GAN).This pioneering work not only paves new paths for the synthesis of 2D oxides in the future but also demonstrates the substantial potential of oxides in the field of neuromorphic computing.

In this article,we consider the long-time behavior of extensible beams with nonlocal weak damping:ε(t)u_(tt)+Δ^(2)u-m(‖▽u‖^(2))Δu+‖u_(t)‖^(p_(u_(t)))+f(u)=h,whereε(t)is a decreasing function vanishing at infinity.Within the theory of process on time-dependent spaces,we investigate the existence of the time-dependent attractor by using the Condition(C_(t))method and more detailed estimates.The results obtained essentially improve and complete some previous works.

A high-performance lithium anode based on N-doped composite graphene

Lithium(Li)metal is the most promising electrode for next-gene ration rechargeable batteries.In order to push the commercialization of the lithium metal batteries,a kind of nitrogen(N)-doped composite graphene(NCG)adopted as the Li plating host was prepared to regulate Li metal nucleation and suppress dendrite growth.Furthermore,a new kind of sandwich-type composite lithium metal(STCL)electrode was developed to improve its application.The STCL electrode can be used as convenient as a piece of Li foil but no dendrite growth.In a symmetric battery,the STCL electrode cycled for more than 4500 h with the overpotential of less than 40 mV.And due to the creative design,the STCL promises the Li-S battery with a prolonged cycling lifespan.

Impact of different anastomosis methods on post-recurrence after intestinal resection for Crohn's disease:A meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Crohn's disease(CD)is a chronic inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract,often requiring intestinal resection as a common treatment.However,recurrence after surgery is common.The anastomotic configuration after bowel resection appears to be associated with the recurrence of CD.Previous studies have suggested that the Kono-S anastomosis may help to reduce the recurrence rate.However,the results remain controversial.Therefore,evidence-based evidence is needed to prove the advantages of Kono-S anastomosis.AIM To measure the influence of anastomosis techniques on the long-term relapse rate of CD by conducting a meta-analysis.METHODS PubMed,Scopus,and Cochrane Library were searched until October 8,2023.Patients who underwent intestinal resection due to CD were included.The intervention measures included Kono-S anastomosis,whereas the control group received traditional anastomosis such as end-to-end,end-to-side,and side-to-side anastomosis.Only randomized clinical trials and observational studies were included.The primary outcome measures were hospital stay post-surgery,overall postoperative complication incidence,the proportion of Clavien-Dindo grade IIIa or higher,overall postoperative recurrence rate,and Rutgeerts score.RESULTS From 2011 to 2023,six articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.The results indicated that Kono-S anastomosis can reduce the hospital stay post-surgery of patients with CD[MD=-0.26,95%CI:-0.42 to-0.10,P=0.002]than other traditional anastomosis methods.Compared to other traditional anastomosis methods,Kono-S anastomosis can significantly reduce the total recurrence rate[MD=0.40,95%CI:0.17 to 0.98,P=0.05]and postoperative Rutgeerts score[MD=-0.81,95%CI:-0.96 to-0.66,P<0.001]in patients with CD.However,there is no significant disparity in the overall occurrence of postoperative complications and the proportion of Clavien-Dindo≥IIIa.CONCLUSION Kono-S anastomosis has the potential to expedite the recuperation of CD and diminish relapse hazards;however,additional larger

Effect of Mn content on microstructure and properties of AlCrCuFeMnx high-entropy alloy

AlCrCuFeMnx(x=0,0.5,1,1.5,and 2)high-entropy alloys were prepared using the vacuum arc melting technology.The microstructure and mechanical properties of AlCrCuFeMnxwere analyzed and tested by XRD,SEM,TEM,nanoindentation,and electronic universal testing.The results indicate that the AlCrCuFeMnxhigh-entropy alloy exhibits a dendritic structure,consisting of dendrites with a BCC structure,interdendrite regions with an FCC structure,and precipitates with an ordered BCC structure that form within the dendrite.Manganese(Mn)has a strong affinity for dendritic,interdendritic,and precipitate structures,allowing it to easily enter these areas.With an increase in Mn content,the size of the precipitated nanoparticles in the dendritic region initially increases and then decreases.Similarly,the area fraction initially decreases and then increases.Additionally,the alloy’s strength and wear resistance decrease,while its plasticity increases.The Al Cr Cu Fe Mn1.5alloy boasts excellent mechanical properties,including a hardness of 360 HV and a wear rate of 2.4×10^(-5)mm^(3)·N^(-1)·mm^(-1).It also exhibits impressive yield strength,compressive strength,and deformation rates of 960 MPa,1,700 MPa,and 27.5%,respectively.

Electrocatalytic Performance of Carbon Layer and Spherical Carbon/Carbon Cloth Composites Towards Hydrogen Evolution from the Direct Electrolysis of Bunsen Reaction Product

A composite material comprising a carbon layer and spherical carbon/carbon cloth(C-SC/CC)was fabricated using a hydrothermal-pyrolysis method,employing carbon cloth as the substrate and glucose as the carbon source.The C-SC/CC electrode was evaluated as an electrocatalytic electrode for hydrogen production by electrolysis of Bunsen reaction products.The electrode prepared with 4 g of glucose and annealed at 800°C showed excellent electrocatalytic activity.It requires only a potential of 185 mV(vs.SCE)to achieve a current density of 10 mA/cm2.Furthermore,the electrode demonstrated good stability with a 6%loss in current density after 1000 cycles of scanning from 0.2 V to 1.2 V.These results indicate the potential of the SC/CC electrode as an efficient and durable electrocatalyst for the electrolysis of H2SO4 and HI.

FPGA-based edge computing: Task modeling for cloud-edge collaboration

With the development of the Internet of Things and devices continuing to scale,using cloud computing resources to process data in real-time is challenging.Edge computing technologies can improve real-time performance in processing data.By introducing the FPGA into the computing node and using the dynamic reconfigurability of the FPGA,the FPGA-based edge node can increase the edge node capability.In this paper,a task-based collaborative method for an FPGA-based edge computing system is proposed in order to meet the collaboration among FPGA-based edge nodes,edge nodes,and the cloud.The modeling of the task includes two parts,task information and task-dependent file.Task information is used to describe the running information and dependency infor-mation required for the task execution.Task-dependent file contains the configuration bit-stream of FPGA in running of the task.By analyzing the task behavior,this paper builds four basic behaviors,analyzes the critical attributes of each behavior,and summa-rizes the task model suitable for FPGA-based edge nodes.Tasks with specific functions can be created by modifying different attributes of model nodes.Finally,the availability of the model and the task-based collaborative method are verified by simulation exper-iments.The experimental results that the task model proposed in this paper can meet cloud-edge collaboration in the FPGA-based edge computing environment.

Is tumor necrosis factor-α monoclonal therapy with proactive therapeutic drug monitoring optimized for inflammatory bowel disease? Network meta-analysis

BACKGROUND The efficacy and safety of anti-tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)monoclonal antibody therapy[adalimumab(ADA)and infliximab(IFX)]with therapeutic drug monitoring(TDM),which has been proposed for inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)patients,are still controversial.AIM To determine the efficacy and safety of anti-TNF-αmonoclonal antibody therapy with proactive TDM in patients with IBD and to determine which subtype of IBD patients is most suitable for proactive TDM interventions.METHODS As of July 2023,we searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)and observa-tional studies in PubMed,Embase,and the Cochrane Library to compare anti-TNF-αmonoclonal antibody therapy with proactive TDM with therapy with reactive TDM or empiric therapy.Pairwise and network meta-analyses were used to determine the IBD patient subtype that achieved clinical remission and to determine the need for surgery.RESULTS This systematic review and meta-analysis yielded 13 studies after exclusion,and the baseline indicators were balanced.We found a significant increase in the number of patients who achieved clinical remission in the ADA[odds ratio(OR)=1.416,95%confidence interval(CI):1.196-1.676]and RCT(OR=1.393,95%CI:1.182-1.641)subgroups and a significant decrease in the number of patients who needed surgery in the proactive vs reactive(OR=0.237,95%CI:0.101-0.558)and IFX+ADA(OR=0.137,95%CI:0.032-0.588)subgroups,and the overall risk of adverse events was reduced(OR=0.579,95%CI:0.391-0.858)according to the pairwise meta-analysis.Moreover,the network meta-analysis results suggested that patients with IBD treated with ADA(OR=1.39,95%CI:1.19-1.63)were more likely to undergo TDM,especially in comparison with patients with reactive TDM(OR=1.38,95%CI:1.07-1.77).CONCLUSION Proactive TDM is more suitable for IBD patients treated with ADA and has obvious advantages over reactive TDM.We recommend proactive TDM in IBD patients who are treated with ADA.

Mode-localized accelerometer in the nonlinear Duffing regime with 75 ng bias instability and 95 ng/√Hz noise floor

Mode-localized sensors have attracted attention because of their high parametric sensitivity and first-order common-mode rejection to temperature drift.The high-fidelity detection of resonator amplitude is critical to determining the resolution of mode-localized sensors where the measured amplitude ratio in a system of coupled resonators represents the output metric.Operation at specific bifurcation points in a nonlinear regime can potentially improve the amplitude bias stability;however,the amplitude ratio scale factor to the input measurand in a nonlinear regime has not been fully investigated.This paper theoretically and experimentally elucidates the operation of mode-localized sensors with respect to stiffness perturbations(or an external acceleration field)in a nonlinear Duffing regime.The operation of a mode-localized accelerometer is optimized with the benefit of the insights gained from theoretical analysis with operation in the nonlinear regime close to the top critical bifurcation point.The phase portraits of the amplitudes of the two resonators under different drive forces are recorded to support the experimentally observed improvements for velocity random walk.Employing temperature control to suppress the phase and amplitude variations induced by the temperature drift,1/f noise at the operation frequency is significantly reduced.A prototype accelerometer device demonstrates a noise floor of 95 ng/√Hz and a bias instability of 75 ng,establishing a new benchmark for accelerometers employing vibration mode localization as a sensing paradigm.A mode-localized accelerometer is first employed to record microseismic noise in a university laboratory environment.
