Undifferentiated high-grade pleomorphic sarcoma of the common bile duct:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma(UPS)is a rare malignant mesenchymal tumor with a poor *** mainly occurs in the extremities,trunk,head and neck,and retroperitoneum *** to the lack of specific clinical manifestations and imaging features,UPS diagnosis mainly depends on pathological and immunohistochemical examinations for exclusive *** we report an extremely rare case of high-grade UPS in the common bile duct(CBD).There are limited available data on such *** SUMMARY A 70-year-old woman was admitted to our department with yellow eyes and urine accompanied by upper abdominal distending pain for 2 *** laboratory data suggested significantly elevated hepatorenal function *** imaging data revealed calculous cholecystitis,intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile duct dilation with extrahepatic bile duct calculi,and a space-occupying lesion at the distal *** endoscopic biliary stenting and symptomatic support therapy,CBD exploration and biopsy were *** frozen section indicated malignant spindle cell tumor of the CBD mass,and further radical pancreaticoduodenectomy was ***,the neoplasm was diagnosed as a high-grade UPS combined with the light-microscopic morphology and immunohistochemical *** This extremely rare case highlighted the need for increasing physicians'vigilance,reducing the odds of misdiagnosis,and providing appropriate treatment strategies.

Fuzzy Adaptive Control of Stochastic Nonlinear Systems with Unknown Virtual Control Gain Function

The problem of track control is studied for a class of strict-feedback stochastic nonlinear systems in which unknown virtual control gain function is the main feature. First, the so-called stochastic LaSalle theory is extended to some extent, and accordingly, the results of global ultimate boundedness for stochastic nonlinear systems are developed. Next, a new design scheme of fuzzy adaptive control is proposed. The advantage of it is that it does not require priori knowledge of virtual control gain function sign, which is usually demanded in many designs. At the same time, the track performance of closed-loop systems is improved by adaptive modifying the estimated error upper bound. By theoretical analysis, the signals of closed-loop systems are globally ultimately bounded in probability and the track error converges to a small residual set around the origin in 4th-power expectation.

A series of new chelating resins with incorporating heterocyclic functional groups： pyridine, thiadizole, benzothizole into macroporous chloromethylated polystyrene were synthesized via hydrophilic spacer arm of polyethylene glycol containing sulfur. These chelating resins were found to show high adsorption capacities for Ag^＋, Hg^2＋, Au^3＋ and Pd^2＋, and the presence of spacer arm can enhance adsorption ability due to increase the hydrophilicity of the chelating resins.

Facile preparation of antibacterial polymer coatings via thiol-yne click photopolymerization

Novel antibacterial polymer coatings were prepared by a facile thiol-yne click photopolymerization of 1-propargyl-3-allYl-l,3-diazanyl-2,4-cyclopentadiene bromide （[PAIMIBr） and tetra（3-mercapto-pro- pionate）pentaerythritol （PETMP）（2：1 molar ratio） using 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone （DMPA） as initiator. The antibacterial activity of the coatings was tested against Staphylococcus aureus （ATCC 292130） and Escherichia coli （ATCC 25922） by the dynamic shake method. The evaluation results revealed the antibacterial polymer coatings exhibited excellent inhibitory activity against S. aureus and E. coil, especially for S. aureus.

Poly[（mercaptopropyl）methylsiloxane] （PMMS）-based antibacterial polymer coatings have been prepared through a two-step sequential thiol-ene click chemistry utilizing 1-allyl-3-decylimidazolium bromide （ADIm） as antibacterial monomer and triallyl cyanurate （TAC） as the crosslinker. These films with different content of ADIm were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis （TGA）, dynamic mechanical analysis （DMA） and pencil hardness. It was found that the mechanical and thermal properties of these films were largely influenced by the content of ADIm in the films. Films with imidazolium bromide groups displayed excellent antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus with 100% killing efficiency.

Optimal concentration of necrostatin-1 for protecting against hippocampal neuronal damage in mice with status epilepticus

Hippocampal neurons undergo various forms of cell death after status ***-1 specifically inhibits necroptosis mediated by receptor interacting protein kinase 1 (RIP1) and RIP3 ***,there are no reports of necroptosis in mouse models of status ***,in this study,we investigated the effects of necrostatin-1 on hippocampal neurons in mice with status epilepticus,and,furthermore,we tested different amounts of the compound to identify the optimal concentration for inhibiting necroptosis and apoptosis.A mouse model of status epilepticus was produced by intraperitoneal injection of kainic acid,12 mg/*** concentrations of necrostatin- 1 (10,20,40,and 80 μM) were administered into the lateral ventricle 15 minutes before kainic acid *** damage was assessed by hematoxylin-eosin staining 24 hours after the model was successfully *** deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling staining,western blot assay and immunohistochemistry were used to evaluate the expression of apoptosis-related and necroptosis-related ***-1 alleviated damage to hippocampal tissue in the mouse model of *** 40 μM concentration of necrostatin-1 significantly decreased the number of apoptotic cells in the hippocampal CA1 ***,necrostatin-1 significantly downregulated necroptosis-related proteins (MLKL,RIP1,and RIP3) and apoptosis-related proteins (cleaved-Caspase-3,Bax),and it upregulated the expression of anti-apoptotic protein *** together,our findings show that necrostatin-1 effectively inhibits necroptosis and apoptosis in mice with status epilepticus,with the 40 μM concentration of the compound having an optimal *** experiments were approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Fujian Medical University,China (approval No.2016-032) on November 9,2016.

The dynamics of a memristor-based Rulkov neuron with fractional-order difference

The exploration of the memristor model in the discrete domain is a fascinating *** electromagnetic induction on neurons has also begun to be simulated by some discrete ***,most of the current investigations are based on the integer-order discrete memristor,and there are relatively few studies on the form of fractional *** this paper,a new fractional-order discrete memristor model with prominent nonlinearity is constructed based on the Caputo fractional-order difference ***,the dynamical behaviors of the Rulkov neuron under electromagnetic radiation are simulated by introducing the proposed discrete *** integer-order and fractional-order peculiarities of the system are analyzed through the bifurcation graph,the Lyapunov exponential spectrum,and the iterative *** results demonstrate that the fractional-order system has more abundant dynamics than the integer one,such as hyper-chaos,multi-stable and transient *** addition,the complexity of the system in the fractional form is evaluated by the means of the spectral entropy complexity algorithm and consequences show that it is affected by the order of the fractional *** feature of fractional difference lays the foundation for further research and application of the discrete memristor and the neuron map in the future.
