Mapping the high burden areas of cholera in Nepal for potential use of oral cholera vaccine: An analysis of data from publications and routine surveillance systems

Objective:To assess the extent of existing published evidence on cholera and to characterize the epidemiologic data of cholera in ***:We conducted a literature scoping review by summarizing published literature reporting on cholera in Nepal from January 1946 to March 2019 in online databases:MEDLINE,Embase,Cochrane,and Global ***,we reviewed national surveillance data on clinically diagnosed and laboratory confirmed cholera reported by the Ministry of Health and ***:Most of the published studies were conducted predominantly in Kathmandu Valley during the rainy season;however,outbreaks have been reported in other parts of Nepal including Terai,Hilly and Mountain *** literature review exhibited that all age groups were affected by cholera,but particularly children and young adults were at-risk age groups in *** cholerae serogroup O1,biotype El Tor,serotype Ogawa has been predominantly isolated with an emergence of resistant strains since *** mass vaccination campaigns using oral cholera vaccines were conducted:Rautahat district in 2014 and Banke district in ***:Capacity building for a nation wide systematic cholera surveillance with rapid and reliable diagnosis is needed to better estimate the burden of cholera and identify geographically at-risk areas associated with the disease in *** is essential for developing an adequate policy on oral cholera vaccine introduction and effective water,sanitation and hygiene interventions.

In Decentralized Machine Learning(DML)systems,system participants contribute their resources to assist others in developing machine learning *** malicious contributions in DML systems is challenging,which has led to the exploration of blockchain *** leverages its transparency and immutability to record the provenance and reliability of training ***,storing massive datasets or implementing model evaluation processes on smart contracts incurs high computational ***,current research on preventing malicious contributions in DML systems primarily focuses on protecting models from being exploited by workers who contribute incorrect or misleading ***,less attention has been paid to the scenario where malicious requesters intentionally manipulate test data during evaluation to gain an unfair *** paper proposes a transparent and accountable training data sharing method that securely shares data among potentially malicious system ***,we introduce a blockchain-based DML system architecture that supports secure training data sharing through the IPFS ***,we design a blockchain smart contract to transparently split training datasets into training and test datasets,respectively,without involving system *** the system,transparent and accountable training data sharing can be achieved with attribute-based proxy *** demonstrate the security analysis for the system,and conduct experiments on the Ethereum and IPFS platforms to show the feasibility and practicality of the system.

Supposition of graphene stacks to estimate the contact resistance and conductivity of nanocomposites

In this study,the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously *** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are modeled by several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are ***,the contact resistance is primarily dependent on the polymer tunnel resistivity,contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly influence the conductivity,which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Oxygen vacancy engineering for tuning the catalytic activity of LaCoO_(3) perovskite

Herein, we attempted to engineer oxygen vacancies on the surface of LaCoO_(3) perovskite through simple post-treatments(acid or reductive thermal treatments). Acid treatment induces oxygen vacancies through the selective etching of the La cations, whereas thermal treatment in a reducing atmosphere generates oxygen vacancies by directly removing lattice oxygen. The characterization results confirm that the number of surface oxygen vacancies, which are crucial in various catalytic oxidation reactions,considerably increases in the LaCoO_(3) catalysts treated with acid or reducing gas. Acid treatment enriches the oxygen vacancies while maintaining the structure of the LaCoO_(3) catalysts, which can not be achieved through reductive thermal treatment. Therefore, the acid treatment is considered a promising technique for oxygen vacancy engineering of perovskite catalysts for tuning their catalytic activities. Furthermore,the catalytic activities of the posttreated LaCoO_(3) catalysts for CO oxidation were evaluated and are noted to be considerably better than those of the pristine LaCoO_(3) catalyst due to their abundant oxygen vacancies. Consequently, we conclude that the oxygen vacancies of perovskite catalysts can be effectively engineered via two simple methods and play a significant role in CO oxidation.

Background:Transmembrane 4 L six family member 5(TM4SF5)translocates subcellularly and functions metabolically,although it is unclear how intracellu-lar TM4SF5 translocation is linked to metabolic *** is thus of interests to understand how the traffic dynamics of TM4SF5 to subcellular endosomal membranes are correlated to regulatory roles of ***:Here,we explored the metabolic significance of TM4SF5 localization at mitochondria-lysosome contact sites(MLCSs),using in vitro cells and in vivo animal systems,via approaches by immunofluorescence,proximity labelling based proteomics analysis,organelle reconstitution ***:Upon extracellular glucose repletion following depletion,TM4SF5 became enriched at MLCSs via an interaction between mitochondrial FK506-binding protein 8(FKBP8)and lysosomal *** labeling showed molecular clustering of phospho-dynamic-related protein I(DRP1)and certain mitophagy receptors at TM4SF5-enriched MLCSs,leading to mitochondrial fis-sion and ***4SF5 bound NPC intracellular cholesterol transporter 1(NPC1)and free cholesterol,and mediated export of lysosomal cholesterol to mitochondria,leading to impaired oxidative phosphorylation but intact tri-carboxylic acid(TCA)cycle andβ-*** mouse models,hepatocyte Tm4sf5 promoted mitophagy and cholesterol transport to mitochondria,both with positive relations to liver ***:Our findings suggested that TM4SF5-enriched MLCSs regu-late glucose catabolism by facilitating cholesterol export for mitochondrial reprogramming,presumably while hepatocellular carcinogenesis,recapitulating aspects for hepatocellular carcinoma metabolism with mitochondrial repro-gramming to support biomolecule synthesis in addition to glycolytic energetics.

Chosen-Ciphertext Attack Secure Public-Key Encryption with Keyword Search

As the use of cloud storage for various services increases,the amount of private personal information along with data stored in the cloud storage is also *** remotely use the data stored on the cloud storage,the data to be stored needs to be encrypted for this ***“searchable encryption”is enable to search on the encrypted data without any decryption,it is one of convenient solutions for secure data management.A public key encryption with keyword search(for short,PEKS)is one of searchable *** et *** defined IND-CCA security for PEKS to enhance it’s security and proposed consistent IND-CCA secure PEKS based on the“robust”ANO-CCA secure identity-based encryption(IBE).In this paper,we propose two generic constructions of consistent IND-CCA secure PEKS combining(1)a hierarchical identity based encryption(for short,HIBE)and a signature scheme or(2)a HIBE,an encapsulation,and a message authentication code(for short,MAC)*** generic constructions identify that HIBE requires the security of a signature or a MAC as well as the weaker“ANO-CPA security(resp.,IND-CPA security)”of HIBE than“ANOCCA security(resp.,IND-CCA security)”of IBE required in for achieving IND-CCA secure(resp.,consistent)***,we prove that our generic constructions satisfy IND-CCA security and consistency under the security models.

The roles of polymer-graphene interface and contact resistance among nanosheets in the effective conductivity of nanocomposites

The effective conductivity of graphene-based nanocomposites is suggested by the characteristics of polymer-filler interfacial areas as well as the contact resistance between the neighboring *** interfacial properties are expressed by the effective levels of the inverse aspect ratio and the filler volume ***,the resistances of components in the contact regions are used to define the contact resistance,which inversely affects the effective *** obtained model is utilized to predict the effective conductivity for some *** discrepancy of the effective conductivity at various ranks of all factors is *** interfacial conductivity directly controls the effective conductivity,while the filler conductivity plays a dissimilar role in the effective conductivity,due to the incomplete interfacial adhesion.A high operative conductivity is also achieved by small contact distances and high interfacial ***,big contact diameters and little tunnel resistivity decrease the contact resistance,thus enhancing the effective conductivity.

Overview of Ultra-Wideband Transceivers——System Architectures and Applications

The Ultra-WideBand(UWB) technique, which offers good energy efficiency, flexible data rate, and high ranging accuracy, has recently been recognized as a revived wireless technology for short distance *** paper presents a brief overview of two UWB techniques, covering Impulse-Radio UWB(IR-UWB) and FrequencyModulation UWB(FM-UWB) methods. The link margin enhancement technique, Very-WideBand(VWB), and power consumption reducing technique, chirp UWB, are also introduced. Then, several potential applications of IR-UWB with transceiver architectures are addressed, including high data rate proximity communication and secure wireless connectivity. With fine-ranging and energy-efficient communication features, the UWB wireless technology is highly promising for secure mobile Internet of Things(IoT) applications.
