Numerous previous literature has attempted to apply machine learning techniques to analyze relationships between energy variables in energy ***,most machine learning methods are primarily used for prediction through complicated learning processes at the expense of *** methods have difficulties in evaluating the effect of energy variables on energy consumption and especially capturing their heterogeneous ***,to identify the energy consumption of the heterogeneous relationships in actual buildings,this study applies the MOdel-Based recursive partitioning(MOB)algorithm to the 2012 CBECS survey data,which would offer representative information about actual commercial building characteristics and energy *** resultant tree-structured subgroups,the MOB tree reveals the heterogeneous effect of energy variables and mutual influences on building energy *** results of this study would provide insights for architects and engineers to develop energy conservative design and retrofit in *** buildings.

AIM:To investigate atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) secretion from gastric mucosa and the relationship between the ANP/natriuretic peptide receptor type A (NPR-A)pathway and diabetic gastroparesis. METHODS:Male imprinting control region(ICR)mice (4 wk old)were divided into two groups:control mice, and streptozotocin-induced diabetic *** weeks after injection,spontaneous gastric contraction was recorded by using physiography in control and streptozotocin-induced diabetic *** ANP-positive cells in gastric mucosa and among dispersed gastric epithelial cells were detected by using immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry,*** and natriureticpeptide receptor type A(NPR-A)gene expression in gastric tissue was observed by using the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS:The frequency of spontaneous gastric contraction was reduced from 12.9±0.8 cycles/min in the control group to 8.4±0.6 cycles/min in the diabetic mice(n=8,P<0.05).However,the amplitude of contraction was not significantly affected in the diabetic *** depletion of interstitial cells of Cajal in the gastric muscle layer was observed in the diabetic ***-positive cells were distributed in the gastric mucosal layer and the density index of ANP-positive cells was increased from 20.9±2.2 cells/field in control mice to 51.8±2.9 cells/field in diabetic mice(n=8, P<0.05).The percentage of ANP-positive cells among the dispersed gastric epithelial cells was increased from 10.0%±0.9%in the control mice to 41.2%± 1.0%in the diabetic mice(n=3,P<0.05).ANP and NPR-A genes were both expressed in mouse stomach, and the expression was significantly increased in the diabetic mice. CONCLUSION:These results suggest that the ANP/ NPR-A signaling pathway is upregulated in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice,and contributes to the development of diabetic gastroparesis.

We have done consecutive studies to investigate the effects of impaired lipid metabolism on the contractile and re-laxation response of cavernous smooth muscles and to elucidate its pathogenesis: 1) incidence of hyperlipidemia in im-potent patients; 2) erection response to intracavemous injection of papaverine in impotent patients with hyperlipidemia;3) relaxation responses of isolated cavemosal smooth muscles to endothelium-independent and endothelium-dependentvasodilators in impotent patients with hypercholesterolemia or hypertriglyceridemia; 4) involvement of superoxide radi-cal in the impaired endothelium-dependent relaxation of cavemous smooth muscle in hypercholesterolemic rabbits; S)effects of isolated lipoproteins and triglyceride, combined oxidized LDL plus triglyceride, and combined oxidized LDLplus HDL on contractile and relaxation response of rabbit cavemous smooth muscles; 6) involvement of e-NOS in theimpaired endothelium-dependent relaxation of cavemous smooth muscle in hypercholesterolemic rabbit. Hypercholes-terolemia may cause impairment of endothelium-dependent relaxation. Oxidized LDL is the major causative cholesterolof the impaired relaxation response. A chain reaction, the production of superoxide radicals and functional impairmentof eNOS may be a major cause of the functional impairment in the early stages of hypercholesterolemia.

CrMnFeCoNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)exhibit an excellent combination of tensile strength and ductility at cryogenic *** study led to the introduction of a new method for the development of high-performance CrMnFeCoNi HEAs at cryogenic temperatures by jointly utilizing additive manufacturing(AM)and the addition of interstitial *** interstitial oxygen present in the powder feedstock was transformed into beneficial nano-sized oxides during AM *** HEA nanocomposite fabricated using laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)not only contains heterogeneous grains and substructures but also a high number density of nano-sized *** tensile results revealed that the L-PBF HEA nanocomposite has superior yield strengths of 0.77 GPa and 1.15 GPa,and tensile strengths of 0.92 GPa and 1.45 GPa at 298 K and 77 K,*** addition,the Charpy impact energies of the samples tested at 298 K and 77 K were measured as 176.2 J and 103.7 J,*** results indicate that the L-PBF HEA nanocomposite successfully overcomes the well-known strength-toughness *** tensile deformation microstructure contained a relatively large number of deformation twins(DTs)at cryogenic temperature,a possible consequence of the decrease in the stacking fault energy with decreasing *** the other hand,cracks were found to propagate along the grain boundaries at room temperature,whereas a transgranular crack was observed at cryogenic temperature in the specimens fractured as a result of the Charpy impact.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of hyper-eutectic Al-Si alloy fabricated by spray casting were in- vestigated and then these results were compared with those by squeeze *** spray-cast specimen was found to have finer Si particles （～5μm） compared to the squeeze-cast specimen （10-25μm）.The tensile strength and elongation of the spray-cast specimen are also higher than those of the squeeze cast *** was considered that the increased mechanical properties of the spray-cast specimen were mainly due to finer size of the Si particles distributed in Al matrix.

Lithium(Li)-ion batteries have stimulated the societal transformation to clean energy *** carry-on electricity is revolutionizing how society communicates,functions,and evolves efficiently by enabling mobile electronics,zero-emission electric vehicles,and stationary energy *** preparation for the sustainable energy future,however,there are growing concerns about depleting critical elements used in the Li technology(e.g.,lithium,cobalt,and nickel),especially for large-scale applications that will accelerate the rate of elemental *** non-Li-based rechargeable batteries composed of earth-abundant elements,such as sodium,potassium,magnesium,and calcium,have been proposed and explored as alternative systems to promote sustainable development of energy *** this perspective,we discuss challenges in Li-ion batteries in the sustainability aspect and provide our opinions on the potential applications of non-Li-based *** also highlight the current status,important progress,and remaining challenges of the Li-alternative technologies.

Use of ultraporous nylon membrane is one of the most widely employed techniques for removal of hard and soft nanoparticles in the semiconductor industry, and the accurate determination of membrane pore size is necessary in order to avoid manufacturing defects caused by contamination. The gold nanoparticle has several benefits for the evaluation of polymeric membranes; however, the nanoparticles agglomerate easily on the nylon membrane and make it difficult to evaluate the membrane precisely. The properties of 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol(ADP) ligand in gold nanoparticle solution were systematically investigated, and ADP was utilized for improved evaluation of the nylon membranes. Nylon membrane used in this study was prepared by phase inversion techniques. Ultrathin dense layer on top of the membrane surface and Darcy structures in the microporous membrane support were observed. The gold particle rejection was carried out at various p H values from 4 to14 and higher rejection was observed at p H 4 and 8. The suppression of gold colloid agglomeration using ADP and monodispersity of gold colloids was also analyzed by confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). van der Waals interaction energy of the particles was reduced in the addition of ADP. The presence of ADP ligand in the gold solutions prevented the agglomeration of gold nanoparticles and reduced the adsorption of the particles on the nylon membrane surface,leading to precise evaluation of membrane pore sizes.

This study represents a well-dispersed gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)synthesis process via cellulose nanocrystals(CNC)which acts as both reducing and supporting *** synthesis process was ultrafast and completed in a few seconds using microwave *** entire synthesis process was cost-effective,sustainable and *** synthesized(AuNPs/CNC)nanocomposite was investigated by transmission electron microscopy,selected area electron diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,energy dispersive X-ray analysis,X-ray diffraction,and UV–vis *** obtained AuNPs were well accumulated on the CNC surface and had a uniform spherical shape with an average diameter of 8±5.3 *** diameter of AuNPs could be altered by tuning the concentration of CNC *** synthesized AuNPs/CNC nanocomposite film exhibited excellent degradation properties against various organic dyes,namely,Allura red,Congo red,Rhodamine B and *** ultrafast degradation reactions followed pseudo first order *** the catalytic degradation reaction,AuNPs/CNC was transmitting electrons from a donor(NaBH4)to an acceptor(a dye).

Impact of surgical volume on nationwide hospital mortality after pancreaticoduodenectomy

AIM:To evaluate the impact of surgical volume on nationwide hospital mortality after pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) for periampullary tumors in South ***:Periampullary cancer patients who underwent PD between 2005 and 2008 were analyzed from the database of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service of South Korea.A total of 126 hospitals were divided into 5 categories,each similar in terms of surgical volume for each *** used hospital mortality as a quality indicator,which was defined as death during the hospital stay for PD,and calculated adjusted mortality through multivariate logistic models using several confounder ***:A total of eligible 4975 patients were enrolled in this *** annual surgical volume of hospitals was markedly varied,ranging from 215 PDs in the very-high-volume hospital to < 10 PDs in the verylow-volume *** route,type of medical security,and type of operation were significantly different by surgical *** overall hospital mortality was 2.1% and the observed hospital mortality by surgical volume showed statistical *** volume,age,and type of operation were independent risk factors for hospital death,and adjusted hospital mortality showed a similar difference between hospitals with observed *** result of the HosmerLemeshow test was 5.76(P = 0.674),indicating an acceptable appropriateness of our regression ***:The higher-volume hospitals showed lower hospital mortality than the lower-volume hospitals after PD in South Korea,which were clarified through the nationwide database.

Several dynamic tests with vasoactive drags are available for evaluating penile vascular inflows and outflows,ranging from simple pharmacologic test to more invasive radiologic sets. However, there is still no perfect single testto reflect the penile vascular flow. All possible efforts should be exerted to get the greatest erectile effect to avoid anunderestimation of blood flow to the corpora due to incomplete relaxation of the trabecular smooth *** of the type and frequency of anatomical variations and potential collateral routes is important in interpretingpenile arterograms and in evaluating the hemodynamic significance of suspected arterial disease. Choice of the vasculartests should always depend on the purpose of testing.
