Enhanced the photoelectrochemical performance of Bi_(2)XO_6(X = W, Mo) for detecting hexavalent chromium by modification of CuS

In this work, Bi2XO6(X = W, Mo) are synthesized at different temperatures. The results of tests find the optimal temperatures of Bi_(2)WO_(6) and Bi_(2)MoO_(6) are 180 and 160 °C(BW-180, BM-160). Then, BW-180 and BM-160 are further compounded with different contents of CuS. The results of photoelectrochemical(PEC) tests show that CuS can improve the PEC performance of semiconductor materials, and it has better performance when CuS mass fraction is 5%. These maybe the photoelectron potentials generated by Cu S/Bi_(2)XO_(6)(X = Mo, W) heterojunction reduce the combination of photogenerated electrons and holes. When the PEC sensor based on 5%-CuS/BW-180 detects Cr(VI), it has a linear range of 1–80 μmol/L with detection limit of 0.95 μmol/L, while the PEC sensor based on 5%-CuS/BM-160 detects Cr(VI) has a linear range of 0.5–230 μmol/L and a detection limit of 0.12 μmol/L. Thus, 5%-CuS/Bi_(2)XO_(6) has potential application in hexavalent chromium detection.

The evolving views of hematopoiesis:from embryo to adulthood and from in vivo to in vitro

The hematopoietic system composed of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells(HSPCs)and their differentiated lineages serves as an ideal model to uncover generic principles of cell fate transitions.From gastrulation onwards,there successively emerge primitive hematopoiesis(that produces specialized he-matopoietic cells),pro-definitive hematopoiesis(that produces lineage-restricted progenitor cells),and definitive hematopoiesis(that produces multipotent HSPCs).These nascent lineages develop in several transient hematopoietic sites and finally colonize into lifelong hematopoietic sites.The development and maintenance of hematopoietic lineages are orchestrated by cell-intrinsic gene regulatory networks and cell-extrinsic microenvironmental cues.Owing to the progressive methodology(e.g.,high-throughput lineage tracing and single-cell functional and omics analyses),our understanding of the developmental origin of hematopoietic lineages and functional properties of certain hematopoietic organs has been updated;meanwhile,new paradigms to characterize rare cell types,cell heterogeneity and its causes,and comprehensive regulatory landscapes have been provided.Here,we review the evolving views of HSPC biology during developmental and postnatal hematopoiesis.Moreover,we discuss recent advances in the in vitro induction and expansion of HSPCs,with a focus on the implications for clinical applications.

Derivation of Expanded Isospectral-Nonisospectral Integrable Hierarchies via the Column-vector Loop Algebra

A scheme for generating nonisospectral integrable hierarchies is introduced.Based on the method,we deduce a nonisospectral hierarchy of soliton equations by considering a linear spectral problem.It follows that the corresponding expanded isospectral and nonisospectral integrable hierarchies are deduced based on a 6 dimensional complex linear space ■.By reducing these integrable hierarchies,we obtain the expanded isospectral and nonisospectral derivative nonlinear Schr?dinger equation.By using the trace identity,the biHamiltonian structure of these two hierarchies are also obtained.Moreover,some symmetries and conserved quantities of the resulting hierarchy are discussed.

Carbon-based materials with combined functions of thermal management and electromagnetic protection: Preparation, mechanisms, properties, and applications

The proliferation of high-power,highly informationized,and highly integrated electronic devices and weapons equipment has given rise to increasingly conspicuous issues about electromagnetic(EM)pollution and thermal accumulation.These issues,in turn,impose constraints on the performance of such equipment and jeopardize personnel safety.Carbon materials,owing to their diverse and modifiable structures,offer adjustable thermal and electric conductivity,rendering them highly promising for applications in fields such as thermal management and EM protection which have garnered extensive research and review.The pursuit of integrated device and equipment development has elevated the demand for multifunctional materials,prompting significant research into carbon-based composite materials that include both thermal management and EM protection functionalities.Notably,there are no relevant reviews on this topic at present.Consequently,this work consolidates research findings from recent years on carbon matrix composites exhibiting dual attributes of thermal management and EM protection.These attributes include thermally conductive electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials,thermally insulating EMI shielding materials,thermally conductive EM wave(EMW)absorbing materials,and thermally insulating EMW absorbing materials.The paper elucidates the fundamental principles underpinning thermal conduction,thermal insulation,EMW absorbing,and EMI shielding.Additionally,it engages in discussions surrounding areas of contention,design strategies,and the functional properties of various material designs.Ultimately,the paper concludes by presenting the challenges encountered and potential research strategies about composites endowed with both thermal management and EM protection functionalities,while also envisaging the development of novel multifunctional EM protection materials.

Design and identification of a double-acting piezoelectric-hydraulic hybrid actuator

Traditional single-acting piezoelectric-hydraulic hybrid actuators usually have the problem of inertial force caused by flow pulsation of the liquid,which degrades their output performance.To suppress or solve the associated inertial force and enhance its output capabilities,this paper proposes a new type of double-acting piezoelectric-hydraulic hybrid actuator with four check valves acting as mechanical diodes.The new hybrid actuator was fabricated and its output performance was tested.When the voltage is 700 Vp-pand the bias pressure is 2 MPa,the pulsation ratesδof the new actuator at 400 Hz,500 Hz and 600 Hz are 2.29,2.08 and 1.78,respectively,whileδof the single-acting hybrid actuator under the same conditions are 10.98,11.05 and 17.12.Therefore,the liquid pulsation rate of the new hybrid actuator is significantly reduced,which is beneficial for improving the flow uniformity and weakening the influence of inertial force on the hybrid actuator.This strategy ultimately leads to a maximum no-load velocity of 168.1 mm/s at 600 Hz and a maximum blocking force of 141 N at 450 Hz for the new hybrid actuator.In addition,this strategy has the potential to be used in other electrohydrostatic actuators to improve their performance.

Let f(t,y,y')=∑ _(i=0)^(n )a_(i)(t,y)y'^(i)=0 be an irreducible first order ordinary differential equation with polynomial coefficients.Eremenko in 1998 proved that there exists a constant C such that every rational solution of f(t,y,y')=0 is of degree not greater than C.Examples show that this degree bound C depends not only on the degrees of f in t,y,y' but also on the coefficients of f viewed as the polynomial in t,y,y'.In this paper,the authors show that if f satisfies deg(f,y)0,then the degree bound C only depends on the degrees of f in t,y,y',and furthermore we present an explicit expression for C in terms of the degrees of f in t,y,y'.

Turbulence Statistics of Thermo-Buoyancy Supercritical Fuel Flow in a Regenerative Cooling Channel

Active regenerative cooling with supercritical hydrocarbon fuel is considered as the most promising thermal protection method.The existence of buoyancy force would lead to strongly anisotropic flow and thermal transport characteristics.It is closely related to the cooling performance of the engine.To elucidate the mechanisms of turbulent transport,the large eddy simulation(LES) was performed to assess turbulence statistics within different turbulence scales.The results indicated that the buoyancy and inertial force together dominated the change of turbulent structure.Moreover,the spatial thermal buoyancy effect significantly suppressed the vertical velocity fluctuation.This is due to the laminar motion caused by the buoyancy force,thereby weakening the thermal transport.For the statistics of velocity fluctuation,it was found that the buoyancy force and inertial force greatly weaken the vertical and streamwise velocity fluctuation,respectively.For the statistics of thermal transport,the results pointed out that the near-wall heat transport characteristics need to be paid more attention.The thickness of the temperature mixing boundary layer led to the attenuation of vertical heat flux,which inhibited vertical temperature diffusion and predisposed to extreme conditions of heat transfer deterioration.The results can enhance the academic understanding of the heat transfer mechanism of supercritical fluids,and give guidance for further applications of thermal protection.

Oxygen vacancy boosting Fenton reaction in bone scaffold towards fighting bacterial infection

Bacterial infection is a major issue after artificial bone transplantation due to the absence of antibacterial function of bone scaffold,which seriously causes the transplant failure and even amputation in severe cases.In this study,oxygen vacancy(OV)defects Fe-doped Ti O2(OV-FeTiO2)nanoparticles were synthesized by nano TiO2and Fe3O4via high-energy ball milling,which was then incorporated into polycaprolactone/polyglycolic acid(PCLGA)biodegradable polymer matrix to construct composite bone scaffold with good antibacterial activities by selective laser sintering.The results indicated that OV defects were introduced into the core/shell-structured OV-FeTiO2nanoparticles through multiple welding and breaking during the high-energy ball milling,which facilitated the adsorption of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)in the bacterial infection microenvironment at the bone transplant site.The accumulated H2O2could amplify the Fenton reaction efficiency to induce more hydroxyl radicals(·OH),thereby resulting in more bacterial deaths through·OH-mediated oxidative damage.This antibacterial strategy had more effective broad-spectrum antibacterial properties against Gram-negative Escherichia coli(E.coli)and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus).In addition,the PCLGA/OV-FeTiO2scaffold possessed mechanical properties that match those of human cancellous bone and good biocompatibility including cell attachment,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation.

The noise spectral characteristics and noise reduction schemes of screw air-source heat pump:A case study

The screw air-source heat pump can cause incessant high noise levels during operation,which might hinder adoption of this energy-efficient heat pump.First,acoustic measurements and comparison testing were performed in this research.The measurements revealed that the compressor is the main noise source of the heat pump,and it shows a multipeak frequency distribution and a wide frequency spectrum under different work conditions,with multiple peaks at 63,250,and 1000 Hz.Then,a compressor sound insulation cover with broadband absorption was proposed,and it was experimentally proven that the insulation cover can reduce the maximum sound pressure level of one unit from 89.8 dBA to 79.1 dBA.Third,we proposed several noise reduction strategies and compared their noise reduction effects using computer simulation.The results showed that the noise problem can be effectively improved through the rational design of the sound barrier and the layout and opening options of heat pump.The distance between the sound barrier and heat pump and the sound attenuation due to diffraction ALa exhibit a U-shaped relation.For buildings of different heights,the optimal heights of noise barrier are proposed.The 5.5-meter is the optimal height of the sound barrier for single-story buildings.The conclusions can be applied to other building projects for heat pump noise reduction.

Fast nuclear-spin gates and electrons−nuclei entanglement of neutral atoms in weak magnetic fields

We present a novel class of Rydberg-mediated nuclear-spin entanglement in divalent atoms with global laser pulses.First,we show a fast nuclear-spin controlled phase gate of an arbitrary phase realizable either with two laser pulses when assisted by Stark shifts,or with three pulses.Second,we propose to create an electrons−nuclei-entangled state,which is named a super bell state(SBS)for it mimics a large Bell state incorporating three small Bell states.Third,we show a protocol to create a three-atom electrons-nuclei entangled state which contains the three-body W and Greenberger−Horne−Zeilinger(GHZ)states simultaneously.These protocols possess high intrinsic fidelities,do not require single-site Rydberg addressing,and can be executed with large Rydberg Rabi frequencies in a weak,Gauss-scale magnetic field.The latter two protocols can enable measurement-based preparation of Bell,hyperentangled,and GHZ states,and,specifically,SBS can enable quantum dense coding where one can share three classical bits of information by sending one particle.
