New measurement of thick target yield for narrow resonance at Ex= 9.17 MeV in the 13C（p, γ）14N reaction

High energy γ-rays can be used in many fields, such as nuclear waste transmutation, flash photographics, and astrophysics. The13 C(p, γ)14 N resonance reaction was used to generate high energy and mono-energetic γ-rays in this work. The thick-target yield of the 9.17-MeV γ-ray from the resonance in this reaction was determined to be(4.7±0.4)×10-9γ/proton,which was measured by a HPGe detector. Meanwhile, the angular distribution of 9.17-MeV γ-ray was also *** absolute efficiency of HPGe detector was calibrated using56 Co and152 Eu sources with known radioactive activities and calculated by GEANT4 simulation.

AIM:To evaluate the outcome of non-malignant and non-cirrhotic patients with portal cavernoma and to determine the predictors for ***:Between July 2002 and June 2010,we retrospectively enrolled all consecutive patients admitted to our department with a diagnosis of portal cavernoma without abdominal malignancy or liver *** primary endpoint of this observational study was death and cause of *** predictors of survival were identified using the Cox regression ***:A total of 64 patients were enrolled in the *** a mean follow-up period of 18±2.41mo,7 patients *** of death were pulmonary embolism(n=1),acute leukemia(n=1),massive esophageal variceal hemorrhage(n=1),progressive liver failure(n=2),severe systemic infection secondary to multiple liver abscesses(n=1)and accident(n=1).The cumulative 6-,12-and 36-mo survival rates were 94.9%,86%and 86%,*** Cox regression analysis demonstrated that the presence of ascites(HR=10.729,95%CI:1.209-95.183,P=0.033)and elevated white blood cell count(HR=1.072,95%CI:1.014-1.133,P=0.015)were independent prognostic factors of non-malignant and non-cirrhotic patients with portal *** cumulative 6-,12-and 36-mo survival rates were significantly different between patients with and without ascites(90%,61.5%and 61.5%vs 97.3%,97.3%and 97.3%,respectively,P=0.0008).CONCLUSION:The presence of ascites and elevated white blood cell count were significantly associated with poor prognosis in non-malignant and non-cirrhotic patients with portal cavernoma.

Collinear laser spectroscopy is a powerful tool for studying the nuclear spins,electromagnetic moments,and charge radii of exotic *** study the nuclear properties of unstable nuclei at the Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility(BRIF)and the future High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility(HIAF),we developed a collinear laser spectroscopy apparatus integrated with an offline laser ablation ion source and a laser *** overall performance of this state-of-the-art technique was evaluated,and the system was commissioned using a bunched stable ion *** high-resolution optical spectra for the 4s ^(2)S_(1/2)→4p^(2)P_(3/2)(D2)ionic transition of ^(40;42;44;48)Ca isotopes were successfully *** extracted isotope shifts relative to ^(40)Ca showed excellent agreement with the literature *** system is now ready for use at radioactive ion beam facilities such as the BRIF and paves the way for the further development of higher-sensitivity collinear resonance ionization spectroscopy techniques.

A control and data acquisition system was implemented for the recently developed collinear laser spectroscopy *** system is dedicated to data recording,storage,processing,monitoring of the beam intensity and energy,and visualization of various *** comparison to the conventional resonance nuclear reaction system,the key technique is the precise synchronization of the detected counts with the actual scanning voltage(or probing laser frequency).The functions of the system were tested by measuring the hyperfine structure spectra of stable calcium(e.g.,^(40)Ca^(+))and radioactive potassium(e.g.,^(38)K)in the bunched and continuous modes,*** system will be routinely applied and further improved in subsequent laser spectroscopy experiments on unstable isotopes at the Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility(BRIF).

Excited states of ^(206)Rn have been examined via the 197 Au(^(14)N,5n)^(206)Rn fusion reaction at a beam energy of 78 MeV.A number of transitions and levels are identified by the γ-γ coincidence measurement,further enriching the level scheme of ^(206)*** fullconfiguration shell model and nucleon-pair approximation(NPA)were utilized to investigate the single-particle configurations and seniority structures in ^(206)*** results of these two calculations suggest that 2_(1)^(+) and 4_(1)^(+) states exhibit only a 50%component of a seniority-two state associated with a broken neutron *** collectivity of these two states primarily arises from configuration mixing due to residual proton-neutron ***,6_(1)^(+) and 8_(1)^(+) states are predominantly characterized by a seniority-two state marked by a broken proton pair.
