Resonant Beam Communications:A New Design Paradigm and Challenges

Resonant beam communications (RBCom), which adopts oscillating photons between two separate retroreflectors for information transmission, exhibits potential advantages over other types of wireless optical communications (WOC). However, echo interference generated by the modulated beam reflected from the receiver affects the transmission of the desired information. To tackle this challenge, a synchronization-based point-to-point RBCom system is proposed to eliminate the echo interference, and the design for the transmitter and receiver is discussed. Subsequently,the performance of the proposed RBCom is evaluated and compared with that of visible light communications(VLC)and free space optical communications (FOC). Finally, future research directions are outlined and several implementation challenges of RBCom systems are highlighted.

The Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas have a long and complex tectonic evolutionary *** and blocks,such as northern India,Lhasa,Qiangtang,Qaidam and Central Qilian,and their in-between orogenic belts constitute the main part of the Qinghai-Tibetan *** the Cambrian Period,most of these cratons and blocks were on the northwestern periphery of Gondwana,and were associated with the surrounding blocks,***,Central Iran,Afghanistan,Tarim,Alxa,North China,South China and Sibumasu through the Proto-Tethys *** Cambrian stratigraphic sequences on these stable blocks are composed of mixed siliciclastic and carbonate rocks deposited in the shallow-water marine environments,and contain the trilobite assemblages of shelf *** Cambrian stratigraphic sequences in the Qilian tectonic belts,however,are characterized by the intermediate-basic igneous rocks and silicates formed in the Proto-Tethys Ocean,and contain the trilobite assemblages of deep-water slope *** with previous data,field observations and newly discovered fossils through funding by the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research,the general characteristics of the Cambrian strata in different tectonic units of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas have been summarized in this ***,efforts have been made to subdivide and correlate the Cambrian strata across these areas by utilizing available biostratigraphic and geochronological *** a result,a comprehensive litho-and biostratigraphy chart has been ***,from the biogeographic perspective,this paper also provides a brief overview of the Cambrian paleogeographical reconstruction of the major tectonic blocks,and discusses the problems associated with the evolution of the ProtoTethys tectonic belt.

In this editorial,we comment on the article published in the recent issue of the World Journal of *** liver failure(ALF)is a fatal disease that causes uncontrolled massive hepatocyte death and rapid loss of liver *** and pyroptosis,cell death forms that can be initiated or blocked concurrently,can play significant roles in developing inflammation and various ***,their roles in ALF remain *** article discovered the positive feedback between ferroptosis and pyroptosis in the progression of ALF,and revealed that the silent information regulator sirtuin 1(SIRT1)inhibits both pathways through p53,dramatically reducing inflammation and protecting *** suggests the potential use of SIRT1 and its downstream molecules as therapeutics for ***,we will discuss the role of ferroptosis and pyroptosis in ALF and the crosstalk between these cell death ***,we address potential treatments that could alleviate ALF by simultaneously inhibiting both cell death pathways,as well as examples of SIRT1 activators being used as disease treatment strategies,providing new insights into the therapy of ALF.

BACKGROUND lipid metabolism reprogramming is suspected to exist in pre-cancerous lesions,including colorectal *** colonoscopy frequently reveals chicken skin mucosa(CSM;white or yellow-white speckled mucosa)surrounding colo-rectal polyps,caused by macrophages engulfing and accumulating the lipids decomposed by colon cells or adjacent ***-positive colorectal polyps are associated with various diseases;however,their prognosis varies *** snare polypectomy is commonly used to resect lesions up to 10 to 15 mm in diameter without signs of submucosal invasion but is controversial for CSM-positive colorectal *** imaging is required to diagnose and treat CSM-positive colorectal *** This retrospective cohort study included 177 patients with CSM-positive colorectal polyps diagnosed using *** patient-related information was extracted from the Goldisc soft-clinic DICOM system or electronic medical record *** on the pathological results,patients were classified as non-neoplastic polyps(five juvenile polyps),neoplastic polyps,non-invasive high-grade neoplasia(NHGN),or submucosal invasive carcinoma(SM stage cancer).We analyzed and compared the clinical features,suspected risk factors for malignant transformation of neoplastic polyps,and early infiltration of sub-mucosal *** The diameters of NHGN and SM polyps were much smaller than those of neoplastic *** NHGN polyps had a deeper red mucosal *** logistic regression analyses,diameter and deeper red mucosal color were independent risk factors for malignant transformation of neoplastic *** 1 CSM was more common in high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and SM;type 2 CSM was more common in neoplastic *** regression analyses revealed no significant differences in the malignant transformation of neoplastic polyps or early submucosal invasion of CSM-positive colorectal *** in the CSM mucosa surrounding neoplastic

In order to enhance the ionic conductivity of solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)and their structural rigidity against lithium dendrite during lithium-ion battery(liB)cycling,we propose porous garnet li6.4La3Zr2Al0.2O12(LLZO),as the filler to *** porous LLZO with interlinked grains was synthesized via a resol-assisted cationic coordinative co-assembly *** porous structure of LLZO with high specific surface area facilitates the interaction between polymer and filler and provides sufficient entrance for li^(+)migration into the LLZO ***,the interconnection of LLZO grains forms continuous inorganic pathways for fast li^(+)migration,which avoid the multiple diffusion for li^(+)in *** a result,the SPEs with porous LLZO(SPE-PL)show a high ionic conductive of 0.73 mS·cm^(-1) at 30℃ and lithium-ion transference number of *** porous LLZO with uniformly dispersed pores also acts as an ion distributor to regulate ionic *** lithium-symmetrical batteries assembled with SPE-PL show a highly stable li plating/stripping cycling for nearly 3000 h at 0.1 mA·cm^(-2).The corresponding li/liFePO_(4) batteries also exhibit excellent cyclic performance with capacity retention of 75%after nearly 500 *** work brings new insights into the design of conductive fillers and the optimization of SPEs.

Insufficient intratumoral retention of nanomedicines remains the major challenge for broad implementation in clinical ***,we proposed a legumain-triggered aggregable gold nanoparticle(GNP)delivery platform(GNPs-A&C).GNPs-A&C could form intratumoral or intracellular aggregates in response to the overexpressed *** aggregates with size increase not only could reduce back-flow from interstitial space to peripheral bloodstream but also could restrict the cellular exocytosis,leading to enhanced intratumoral *** vitro studies demonstrated that GNPs-A&C possessed an excellent legumain responsiveness and the increased size was closely relevant with legumain *** vivo studies demonstrated GNPs-A&C possessed slower clearance rate and much higher intratumoral retention within legumain-overexpressed tumor compared to non-aggregable NPs,regardless of intravenous or intratumoral *** importantly,this delivery platform significantly improved the chemotherapeutic effect of doxorubicin(DOX)towards subcutaneous xenograft C6 *** effectiveness of this stimulus-responsive aggregable delivery system provides a thinking for designing more intelligent size-tunable nanomedicine that can substantially improve intratumoral retention.

BACKGROUND The nutritional status is closely related to the prognosis of liver transplant re-cipients,but few studies have reported the role of preoperative objective nutri-tional indices in predicting liver transplant *** To compare the predictive value of various preoperative objective nutritional indicators for determining 30-d mortality and complications following liver transplantation(LT).METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on 162 recipients who underwent LT at our institution from December 2019 to June *** This study identified several independent risk factors associated with 30-d mor-tality,including blood loss,the prognostic nutritional index(PNI),the nutritional risk index(NRI),and the control nutritional *** 30-d mortality rate was 8.6%.Blood loss,the NRI,and the PNI were found to be independent risk factors for the occurrence of severe postoperative *** NRI achieved the highest prediction values for 30-d mortality[area under the curve(AUC)=0.861,Plications(AUC=0.643,P=0.011).Compared to those in the high NRI group,the low patients in the NRI group had lower preoperative body mass index and prealbumin and albumin levels,as well as higher alanine aminotransferase and total bilirubin levels,Model for End-stage liver Disease scores and prothrombin time(Plity and severe complications following *** NRI could be an effective tool for transplant surgeons to evaluate perioperative nutritional risk and develop relevant nutritional therapy.

1 Introduction Under real-world haze conditions,the existence of haze particles in the atmosphere reduces the visibility of captured ***,the noise is inevitably introduced into the degraded image,which further deteriorates the visual quality of the *** enhance the visibility and quality of outdoor real-world hazy images,numerous algorithms have been proposed to remove haze from a single input *** existing methods are broadly lumped into two categories:prior-based methods[1,2]and learning-based methods[3–6].Unfortunately,the widely used atmospheric scattering model and the corresponding haze removal methods fail to take the noise interference into account,which may result in poor visibility restoration performance.
