In isogeometric analysis,it is frequently required to handle the geometric models enclosed by four-sided or non-four-sided boundary patches,such as trimmed *** this paper,we develop a Gregory solid based method to parameterize those ***,we extend the Gregory patch representation to the trivariate Gregory solid ***,the trivariate Gregory solid representation is employed to interpolate the boundary patches of a geometric model,thus generating the polyhedral volume *** improve the regularity of the polyhedral volume parametrization,we formulate the construction of the trivariate Gregory solid as a sparse optimization problem,where the optimization objective function is a linear combination of some terms,including a sparse term aiming to reduce the negative Jacobian area of the Gregory ***,the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)is used to solve the sparse optimization *** of experimental examples illustrated in this paper demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the developed method.

As one of the most serious threats to human being,cancer is hard to be treated when metastasis ***’s worse,there are few identified targets of metastasis for drug ***,it is important to develop strategies to prevent metastasis or treat existed *** review focuses on the procedure of metastasis,and first summarizes the targeting delivery strategies,including primary tumor targeting drug delivery,tumor metastasis targeting drug delivery and hijacking circulation ***,as a promising treatment,the application of immunotherapy in tumor metastasis treatment is introduced,and strategies that stimulating immune response are reviewed,including chemotherapy,photothermal therapy,photodynamic therapy,ferroptosis,sonodynamic therapy,and ***,the challenges and perspective about nanoparticle-enabled tumor metastasis treatment are discussed.

Lithium(Li)metal is an ideal anode for the next generation high-energy-density ***,it suffers from dendrite growth,side reactions,and infinite relative volume *** strategies are using porous carbons or surface modification carbons to guide Li deposition into their *** the Li deposition behavior is still ***,we systematically determine their deposition behavior in various surface-modified carbons and in different electrolytes via optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy *** is found that Li will not spontaneously deposit into the carbon pores,which is significantly dependent on the carbon surface,current density,areal capacity,and ***,a“lithiophilic”modified commercial hard carbon with Ag is developed as a stable“host”and efficient surface protection derived from the localized high-concentration electrolyte exhibits a pretty low volume change(5.3%)during cycling at a current density of 2 mA·cm^(−2)and an areal capacity of 2 mAh·cm^(−2).This strategy addresses the volume change and dendrite problems by rationally designed host and electrolyte,providing a broad perspective for realizing Li-metal anode.

Experimental Investigation on Performance of Pulse Detonation Rocket Engine Model

The PDRE test model used in these experiments utilized kerosene as the fuel, oxygen as oxidizer, and nitrogen as purge gas. The solenoid valves were employed to control intermittent supplies of kerosene, oxygen and purge gas. PDRE test model was 50 mm in inner diameter by 1.2 m long. The DDT （deflagration to detonation transition） enhancement device Shchelkin spiral was used in the test model. The effects of detonation frequency on its time-averaged thrust and specific impulse were experimentally investigated. The obtained results showes that the time-averaged thrust of PDRE test model was approximately proportional to the detonation frequency. For the detonation frequency 20 Hz, the time-averaged thrust was around 107 N, and the specific impulse was around 125 s. The nozzle experiments were conducted using PDRE test model with three traditional nozzles. The experimental results obtained demonstrated that all of those nozzles could augment the thrust and specific impulse. Among those three nozzles, the convergent nozzle had the largest increased augmentation, which was approximately 18%, under the specific condition of the experiment.

Although progress has been indeed made by nanomedicines, their efficacies for cancer treatment remain low, consequently leading to failures in translation to clinic. To improve the drug delivery efficiency,nanoparticles need to change size so as to fully utilize the enhanced permeability and retention(EPR) effect of solid tumor, which is the golden principle of nanoparticles used for cancer treatment. Herein, we employed cationic small-sized red emission bovine serum albumin(BSA) protected gold nanocluster(Au NC@CBSA,21.06 nm) to both load indocyanine green(ICG) and act as imaging probe to realize theranostic. Then Au NC@CBSA-ICG was fabricated with negatively charged hyaluronic acid(HA) to form Au NC@CBSAICG@HA, which was about 200 nm to easily retain at tumor site and could be degraded by tumor-specific hyaluronidase into small nanoparticles for deep tumor penetration. The HA shell also endowed Au NC@CBSA-ICG@HA with actively targeting ability and hyaluronidase-dependent drug release. Furthermore, the quenching and recovery of fluorescence revealed the interaction between ICG and carrier, which was essential for the investigation of pharmacokinetic profiles. No matter in vitro or in vivo, Au NC@CBSAICG@HA showed markedly anti-tumor effect, and could suppress 95.0% of tumor growth on mice breast cancer model. All results demonstrated Au NC@CBSA-ICG@HA was potential for breast cancer therapy.

Accumulation of lactate in tumor has been linked to poor prognosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), but the underlying mechanism remained largely uncertain. Previous studies have suggested that presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs) closely correlated with cellular malignancy of OSCC. Here, using 3D organoid culture model, we investigated whether lactate promoted CSCs phenotype in primary OSCC cells. We generated organoids using fresh OSCC specimens and verified that organoids recapitulated histopathology and cellular heterogeneity of parental tumor;Organoids were then transfected with a Wnt reporter to visualize Wnt activity. The sphere forming assay demonstrated that high Wnt activity functionally designated CSCs population in OSCC cells. Further investigations indicated that lactate treatment promoted Wnt activity and increased the expression of CSCs (i.e. CD133^+ cells) in organoids. Moreover, silencing monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1), the prominent path for lactate uptake in human tumor with siRNA significantly impaired organoid forming capacity of OSCC cells. Together, our study demonstrated that lactate can promote CSCs phenotype of OSCC,and MCT1 may be a therapeutic target against OSCC growth.

Background:Data on the incidence,mortality,and other burden of oral cancer as well as their secular trends are necessary to provide policy-makers with the information needed to allocate resources *** purpose of this study was to use the Global Burden of Disease(GBD)2017 results to estimate the incidence,mortality,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)for oral cancer from 1990 to ***:We collected detailed data on oral cancer from 1990 to 2017 from the GBD *** global incidence,mortality,and DALYs attributable to oral cancer as well as the corresponding age-standardized rates(ASRs)were *** estimated annual percentage changes in the ASRs of incidence(ASRI)and mortality(ASRM)and age-standardized DALYs of oral cancer were also calculated according to regions and countries to quantify the secular trends in these ***:We tracked the incidence,mortality,and DALYs of oral cancer in 195 countries/territories over 28 ***,the incidence,mortality,and DALYs of oral cancer increased by about 1.0-fold from 1990 to *** ASRI of oral cancer showed a similar trend,increasing from 4.41 to 4.84 per 100,000 person-years during the study *** ASRM remained approximately stable at about 2.4 per 100,000 from 1990 to 2017,as did the age-standardized DALYs,at about 64.0 per 100,000 *** was highest in Pakistan(27.03/100,000,95%CI=22.13-32.75/100,000),followed by Taiwan China,and lowest in Iraq(0.96/100,000,95%CI=0.86-1.06/100,000).ASRM was highest in Pakistan(16.85/100,000,95%CI=13.92-20.17/100,000)and lowest in Kuwait(0.51/100,000,95%CI=0.45-0.58/100,000).Conclusions:The ASRI of oral cancer has increased slightly worldwide,while the ASRM and age-standardized DALY have remained ***,these characteristics vary between countries,suggesting that current prevention strategies should be reoriented,and much more targeted and specific strategies should be established in some countries to forestall the incre
