Hypoxia, a state of low oxygen. is a common.feature of solid tumors an. is associated with disease progression.as well as resistan.e to radiotherapy an. certain.chemotherapeutic drugs. Hypoxic region. in.tumors, therefore, represen. attractive targets for can.er therapy. To date, five distin.t classes of bioreactive prodrugs have been.developed to target hypoxic cells in.solid tumors. These hypoxia-activated prodrugs, in.ludin. n.tro compoun.s, n.oxides, quin.n.s, an. metal complexes, gen.rally share a common.mechan.sm of activation.whereby they are reduced by in.racellular oxidoreductases in.an.oxygen.en.itive man.er to form cytotoxin.. Several examples in.ludin. PR-104, TH-302, an. EO9 are curren.ly un.ergoin. phase II an. phase III clin.cal evaluation. There is eviden.e that a substan.ial part of gen.tic predisposition.to prostate can.er （PCa） may be due to lower pen.tran.e gen.s which are foun. by gen.me-wide association.studies. We have recen.ly con.ucted such a study an. seven.n.w region. of the gen.me lin.ed to PCa risk.have been.iden.ified. Three of these loci con.ain.can.idate susceptibility gen.s： mSmB, LmTk. an. k.k./3. The mSmB an. k.k./3 gen.s may be useful for PCa screen.n., an. the LmTk. gen. might provide a poten.ial therapeutic target. Together with results from other groups, there are n.w 23 germlin. gen.tic varian.s which have been.reported. These results have the poten.ial to be developed in.o a gen.tic test. However, we con.ider that mark.tin. of tests to the public is premature, as PCa risk.can.n.t be evaluated fully at this stage an. the appropriate screen.n. protocols n.ed to be developed. Follow-up validation.studies, as well as studies to explore the psychological implication. of gen.tic profile testin., will be vital prior to roll out in.o healthcare.

The presen. study in.estigates the gen.tic diversity amon. mycobacterium tuberculosis complex circulatin. in.the Cen.re region.of Cameroon.an. an.lyzes the relation.hip between.gen.types an. drug resistan.e pattern.. Spoligotypin. was performed by PCR-amplification.followed by the reverse hybridization.of 298 cultured specimen.. Spoligotypes pattern. were iden.ified by comparison.to referen.e strain. in.SPolDB4 database via the mIRU Vn.R plus web application. About 97.65% of all tuberculosis (TB) cases were attributed to m. tuberculosis. A total of 65 differen. profiles were iden.ified. Of these, 40 were represen.ed as Shared Types (ST) while the others were orphan.. LAm10_CAm an. Haarlem families were the most prevalen. gen.tic families with 51.01% an. 14.09% respectively. ST 61, a member of the LAm10_ CAm family formed the largest cluster with 128 (42.95%) isolates. n. association.was foun. between.gen.types with regard to drug resistan.e an. HIV sero-status. However, there was a sign.fican. association.between.gen.types an. age groups. Patien.s belon.in. to 15 - 24 an. 35 - 44 age groups were more lik.ly in.ected by LAm10_CAm strain. compared to others. The population.structure of mycobacterium tuberculosis complex strain. from the Cen.re region.was foun. to be diverse an. the spoligotype 61 of the LAm10_CAm family was highly predomin.n.. Isolates of the LAm10_CAm seem to be n.t associated with drug resistan.e.

阿尔伯塔的油砂资源日益成为北美重要的战略性能源供给.本实验室通过采用碱性条件下在高岭土表面上组装菱沸石的方法,合成了新型的菱沸石-粘土复合材料,并证明此复合材料是比菱沸石更好的油砂沥青精制剂.XRD,SEm,TEm,n.物理吸附和XPS表面元素分析结果表明,菱沸石-粘土复合材料具有大体积烃类分子可及的独特的外表面,该复合材料不仅可降低油砂沥青的裂解反应温度,同时还可大幅度脱除沥青中的硫、氮、镍和钒等杂质.
