m.rcury(Hg)is extrem.ly toxic,and continues to cause m.jor threats to aquatic life,hum.n health and the ***^2+m.inly derives from.seawater as a product of atm.spheric deposition,therefore there is great dem.nd for sensing approaches that can detect Hg^2+in seawater ***,we dem.nstrate that the peroxidase-m.m.cking activity of gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)or so-called nanozym.s,can be exploited for the detection of Hg^2+ions in various water *** a high electrolyte environm.nt,the catalytic activity for the oxidation of 3,3’,5,5’-tetram.thylbenzidine(Tm.)was significantly dim.nished due to poor stability of the *** activity was reduced by-73.7%when the NaCl concentration was higher than 1.168%,which is m.ch lower than that of seawater(-3.5%),thus presenting its unsuitability for detecting Hg^2+in harsh water *** overcom. this lim.tation,AuNPs were first functionalized with oligo-ethylene glycol(OEG),of which their colloidal form.presented high stability in NaCl concentrations up to 20%and across a wide range of pHs from.***,the catalytic activity of OEG-AuNPs for the oxidation of Tm. was strongly suppressed by the coating,but enhanced upon form.tion of Au-Hg *** novel finding underlies a straightforward,sensitive,and highly selective detection platform.for Hg^2+in water *** approach could detect the exposure lim.t level for Hg^2+in drinking water(i.e.,2 ppb for tap and bottled water)as set by the United States Environm.ntal Protection Agency(EPA)and the World Health Organization(WHO).When Hg^2+was spiked into a 3.5%saline solution and a coastal seawater certified reference m.terial(CRm.,the detection lim.ts were found to be 10 ancm.3 ppb,respectively,which exceed the Hg^2+concentrations com.only found within seawater(-60-80 ppb).The whole procedure takes less than 45 m.n to conduct,providing a highly innovative,rapid and low-cost approach for detecting Hg^2+in com.lex water m.trices.

The Addition of High Intensity Interval Training Reduces Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors and Enhances Strength in Active, Healthy Adults

The guidelines for cardiovascular exercise intensity are not clear with respect to the optim.l training protocols to reduce cardiovascular disease risk (CVD) as well as to enhance strength. At this tim., it is im.ossible to deduce the independent effects of vigorous-intensity exercise from.past studies as the volum. of either physical activity duration or energy expended differed in com.arison to m.derate-intensity exercise. Our goal was to augm.nt the literature focused on the potential benefits of high intensity training with novel m.thodology that includes trained adults in a group fitness environm.nt. Vigorous intensity training m.y be a critical com.onent of the physical activity prescription if active adults dem.nstrate decreases in CVD risk factors and increases in strength. We hypothesize that a 6-week high intensity group fitness intervention will produce beneficial effects on CVD risk factors by reducing body m.ss, total cholesterol, LDL-C, triglyceride concentration, and by enhancing lean body m.ss percentage, HDL-C, glucose tolerance, and m.xim.l oxygen consum.tion as well as both upper and lower body strength. Eighty-four healthy adults, 50 wom.n and 34 m.n, com.leted the 6-week intervention. Participants were random.y assigned to one of two groups;the first was a high intensity interval-training (GRIT) program. while the second was a m.derate intensity-training (FIT) program. All participants com.leted 5 hours of fitness classes per week. We collected m.sculoskeletal and physiological data at the start and finish of the study. In support of our hypotheses, the GRIT group significantly reduced body m.ss, triglyceride concentration and enhanced lean body percentage, glucose tolerance, and m.xim.l oxygen consum.tion in addition to all of the strength m.asures. These results illustrate a novel finding that individuals who already participate in the recom.ended physical activity guidelines can im.rove their health, fitness and strength with the addition of

墙体的蓄热保温性能决定了日光温室在室外环境作用下的温度变化。该文建立了单一材料墙体的温度变化估算模型,对黏土砖墙、砾石墙、加草黏土墙及夯土墙的温度变化进行了预测;采用CFD方法分析了墙体总厚度相同(0.60 m.和总厚度不同(0.60和0.72m.情况下,复合墙体各方案中蓄热材料层的温度变化特点。单一材料墙体温度变化预测结果显示,导温系数较大的砾石墙内部温度变化较其他墙体传播快;温度波动厚度还与墙内表面温度振幅有关,黏土砖墙内表面振幅从5℃增加到15℃,墙体内部振幅达到0.1℃时的波动厚度从0.42 m.加到0.54 m.此外,由预测的墙体温度变化可以确定单一材料墙体蓄放热层厚度。模型估算的夯土墙温度变化及蓄放热层厚度与已有文献测试值比较,吻合较好。复合墙体温度CFD模拟分析表明,墙总厚度0.60 m.变,蓄热材料层越厚内部温度衰减越快;蓄热材料层厚保持0.36 m.墙总厚度从0.60 m.加到0.72 m.,蓄热材料层温度均值最大升高1.7℃。研究还发现,复合墙体较厚的蓄热材料层比同材料单一材料墙体同厚度处温度衰减快,复合墙体蓄放热层厚度的确定取决于隔热层的位置。单一材料墙体及复合墙体蓄热材料层温度模拟模型可以为日光温室墙体的厚度及组成设计提供理论参考。

The m.tam.rphic core of the Him.laya is com.osed of Indian cratonic rocks with two distinct crustal affinities that are defined by radiogenic isotopic geochem.stry and detrital zircon age spectra. One is derived predom.nantly from.the Paleoproterozoic and Archean rocks of the Indian cratonic interior and is either represented as m.tam.rphosed sedim.ntary rocks of the Lesser Him.layan Sequence(LHS) or as slices of the distal cratonic m.rgin. The other is the Greater Him.layan Sequence(GHS) whose provenance is less clear and has an enigm.tic affinity. Here we present new detrital zircon Hf analyses from.LHS and GHS sam.les spanning over 1000 km.along the orogen that respectively show a striking sim.larity in age spectra and Hf isotope ratios. Within the GHS, the zircon age populations at 2800-2500 m.,1800 m., 1000 m. and 500 m. can be ascribed to various Gondwanan source regions; however, a pervasive and dom.nant Tonianage population(～860-800 m.) with a variably enriched radiogenic Hf isotope signature(eHf = 10 to-20) has not been identified from.Gondwana or peripheral accreted terranes. We suggest this detrital zircon age population was derived from.a crustal province that was subsequently rem.ved by tectonic erosion. Substantial geologic evidence exists from.previous studies across the Him.laya supporting the Cam.ro-Ordovician Kurgiakh Orogeny. We propose the tectonic rem.val of Tonian lithosphere occurred prior to or during this Cam.ro-Ordovician episode of orogenesis in a sim.lar scenario as is seen in the m.dern Andean and Indonesian orogenies, wherein tectonic processes have rem.ved significant portions of the continental lithosphere in a relatively short am.unt of tim.. This m.del described herein of the pre-Him.layan northern m.rgin of Greater India highlights the paucity of the geologic record associated with the growth of continental crust.
