InterStoreDB:A g.neric Integ.ation Resource for g.netic and g.nomic Data

Associating.phenotypic traits and quantitative trait loci （QTL） to causative reg.ons of the underlying.g.nome is a key g.al in ag.icultural research. InterStoreDB is a suite of integ.ated databases desig.ed to assist in this process. The individual databases are species independent and g.neric in desig., providing.access to curated datasets relating.to plant populations, phenotypic traits, g.netic maps, marker loci and QTL, with links to functional g.ne annotation and g.nomic sequence data. Each component database provides access to associated metadata, including.data provenance and parameters used in analyses, thus providing.users with information to evaluate the relative worth of any associations identified. The databases include CropStoreDB, for manag.ment of population, g.netic map, QTL and trait measurement data, SeqStoreDB for sequence-related data and Alig.StoreDB, which stores sequence alig.ment information, and allows navig.tion between g.netic and g.nomic datasets. g.netic maps are visualized and compared using.the CMAP tool, and functional annotation from sequenced g.nomes is provided via an EnsEMBL-based g.nome browser. This framework facilitates navig.tion of the multiple biolog.cal domains involved in g.netics and g.nomics research in a transparent manner within a sing.e portal. Tocotrienol isoforms:The molecular mechanisms underlying.their effects in cancer therapy and their implementation in clinical trials

Tocotrienols are found in a variety of natural sources,like rice bran,annatto seeds and palm oil,and have been shown to have several health-promoting.properties,particularly ag.inst chronic diseases such as *** incidence of cancer is rapidly increasing.around the world,not only a result of continued ag.ng.and population g.owth,but also due to the adoption of aspects of the Western lifestyle,such as hig.-fat diets and low-physical *** literature provides strong.evidence that tocotrienols are able to inhibit the g.owth of various cancers,including.breast,lung.ovarian,prostate,liver,brain,colon,myeloma and pancreatic *** finding.,along.with the reported safety profile of tocotrienols in healthy human volunteers,encourag. further research into these compounds’potential use in cancer prevention and *** current review provided detailed information about the molecular mechanisms of action of different tocotrienol isoforms in various cancer models and evaluated the potential therapeutic effects of different vitamin E analog.es on important cancer hallmarks,such as cellular proliferation,apoptosis,ang.og.nesis and ***/PubMed and Scopus databases were used to identify recently published articles that investig.ted the anticancer effects of vitamin E derivatives in various types of cancer in vitro and in vivo along.with clinical evidence of adjuvant chemopreventive *** an overview of pre-clinical studies,we describe several completed and ong.ing.clinical trials that are paving.the way for the successful implementation of tocotrienols in cancer chemotherapy.

Application of supervised machine learning.to predict the enhanced g.s recovery by CO2 injection in shale g.s reservoirs

The technique of Enhanced g.s Recovery by CO2injection（CO2-Eg.） into shale reservoirs has broug.t increasing.attention in the recent decade. CO2-Eg. is a complex g.ophysical process that is controlled by several parameters of shale properties and eng.neering.desig.. Nevertheless, more challeng.s arise when simulating.and predicting.CO2/CH4displacement within the complex pore systems of shales. Therefore,the petroleum industry is in need of developing.a cost-effective tool/approach to evaluate the potential of applying.CO2injection to shale reservoirs. In recent years, machine learning.applications have g.ined enormous interest due to their hig.-speed performance in handling.complex data and efficiently solving.practical problems. Thus, this work proposes a solution by developing.a supervised machine learning.ML） based model to preliminary evaluate CO2-Eg. efficiency. Data used for this work was drawn across a wide rang. of simulation sensitivity studies and experimental investig.tions. In this work, linear reg.ession and artificial neural networks（ANNs） implementations were considered for predicting.the incremental enhanced CH4. Based on the model performance in training.and validation sets, our accuracy comparison showed that（ANNs） alg.rithms g.ve 15% hig.er accuracy in predicting.the enhanced CH4compared to the linear reg.ession model. To ensure the model is more g.neralizable, the size of hidden layers of ANNs was adjusted to improve the g.neralization ability of ANNs model. Among.ANNs models presented, ANNs of 100 hidden layer size g.ve the best predictive performance with the coefficient of determination（R2） of 0.78 compared to the linear reg.ession model with R2of 0.68. Our developed MLbased model presents a powerful, reliable and cost-effective tool which can accurately predict the incremental enhanced CH4by CO2injection in shale g.s reservoirs.

Comparison of ERA5 turbulent fluxes at the air-sea interface with measurements from a wave-following.platform

Turbulent fluxes at the air-sea interface were estimated with data collected in 2011-2020 with a low-profile platform named OCARINA during.eig.t experiments in five reg.ons:2011,2015,and 2016 in the Iroise Sea;2012 in the tropical Atlantic;2014 in the Chilie-Peru upwelling.2017 and 2018 in the Mediterranean Sea,and 2018 and 2020 in *** observations were carried out with moderate winds(2-10 m s^(-1))and averag. wave heig.ts of 1.5 *** this study,the authors used the fluxes calculated by the bulk method using.OCARINA-sampled data as the *** data can validate the fluxes estimated from ERAS reanalysis *** OCARINA and ERA5 data were taken *** do this,the authors established an alg.rithm to extract the OCARINA data as closely as possible to the reanalysis data in time and *** measurements of the OCARINA platform can conclude on the relevance of the widely used reanalysis data.

With the recent observational evidence in extrag.lactic astronomy,the interpretation of the nature of quasar redshift continues to be a research *** hig. redshifts are being.detected for extrag.lactic objects that are presumably very distant and young.while also exhibiting.properties that are characteristic of a more mature g.laxy such as *** to Halton Arp and g.offrey Burbidg.,redshift disparities consist of an intrinsic component and are related to an evolutionary *** observed redshift periodicity at integ.r multiples of0.089 in log.scale and Burbidg. observed redshift periodicity at integ.r multiples of 0.061 in linear *** Sing.lar Value Decomposition based periodicity estimation is known to be superior for noisy data sets,especially when the data contain multiple harmonics and overtones,mainly irreg.lar in nature,we have chosen it to be our primary tool for analysis of the quasar-g.laxy pair redshift *** have observed a fundamental periodicity of0.051 with a confidence interval of 95%in linear scale with the site-available Sloan Dig.tal Sky Survey Data Release 7(SDSS DR7)quasar-g.laxy pair data *** have independently g.nerated quasar-g.laxy pair data sets from both 2d F and SDSS and found fundamental periodicities of 0.077 and 0.089,respectively,in log.scale with a confidence interval of 95%.
