An analysis of the experimental results obtained by laser two focus anemometry in the rotor-stator inter-row region of a high-speed high-pressure centrifugal compressor is presented with the aim of quantifying the unsteady effects of the rotor-stator interaction. Two complementary methods are used. First, the results are analyzed in terms of the time-averaging procedure developed by Adamczyk. The purely time dependent correlations of the velocity components are quantified. They show that the unsteady interaction is mainly due to the splitter wake-vane interaction. Then, it is shown that the rotor-stator interaction produces spatial harmonics which are identified as spinning modes by means of Fourier series.

The dynamic biogeography of glacial refugia may cause complex patterns of genetic admixture between parapatric taxa,which in turn can mislead their systematics,diversity,and *** investigated this issue for green toads(Bufotes)inhabiting the circum-Aegean region,a biodiversity hotspot of the Eastern Mediterranean.A previous phylogeographic study based on mitochondrial and microsatellite loci identified the hybrid zone between the European(viridis)and Anatolian(sitibundus)lineages of *** all over the Balkan Peninsula,but subsequent range-wide genomic analyses(>1000 SNPs)located this transition in Turkey,a thousand kilometers *** order to clarify the diversity and taxonomy of the circum-Aegean populations,we reconciled these conflicting findings by integrating previous data with pure sitibundus *** results confirmed that the viridis/sitibundus hybrid zone extends in Western Anatolia,but that southeastern European populations feature cytonuclear discordances and a high and structured microsatellite *** remarkable situation may stem from a massive geographic displacement of the hybrid zone during the last glacial fluctuations,an underappreciated yet seemingly common feature among the herpetofauna of the *** study thus contributes to the rising view that mitochondrial DNA can be a poor predictor of current phylogeographic structure,hence the need for genomic data,especially for narrowly distributed ***,the analyses unambiguously support the distinction of a micro-endemic clade of green toads unique to some Cyclades islands,for which we provide a formal taxonomic description.

Accurate travel time prediction is undoubtedlyof importance to both traffic managers and travelers. Inhighly-urbanized areas, trip-oriented travel time prediction（TOTTP） is valuable to travelers rather than trafficmanagers as the former usually expect to know the traveltime of a trip which may cross over multiple road *** are two obstacles to the development of TOTTP,including traffic complexity and traffic data coverage. Withlarge scale historical vehicle trajectory data and meteorol-ogy data, this research develops a BPNN-based approachthrough integrating multiple factors affecting trip traveltime into a BPNN model to predict trip-oriented travel timefor OD pairs in urban network. Results of experimentsdemonstrate that it helps discover the dominate trends oftravel time changes daily and weekly, and the impact ofweather conditions is non-trivial.

We evidence and study the differences in turbulence statistics in ocean dynamics carried by wind forcing at the air-sea interface. Surface currents at the air-sea interaction are of crucial importance because they transport heat from low to high latitudes. At first order, oceanic currents are generated by the balance of the Coriolis and pressure gradient forces(geostrophic current) and the balance of the Coriolis and the frictional forces dominated by wind stress(Ekman current) in the surface ocean layers. The study was conducted by computing statistical moments on the shapes of spectra computed within the framework of microcanonical multi-fractal formalism. Remotely sensed daily datasets derived from one year of altimetry and wind data were used in this study, allowing for the computation of two kinds of vector fields: geostrophy with and geostrophy without wind stress forcing. We explore the statistical properties of singularity spectra computed from velocity norms and vorticity data, notably in relation with kurtosis information to underline the differences in the turbulent regimes associated with both kinds of velocity fields.

An initial exploration was conducted using mathematical and statistical methods to obtain relevant information about the determination of the physicochemical parameters capable of controlling As uptake by ryegrass grown on contaminated *** of As in the soils were from 10 to 47 mg/kg,mainly in the As（V） form（57%–73%）.Concentrations of As in water extracts were very low（61–700 μg/kg）.It was suggested that As（Ⅲ） was mainly in the uncharged species and As（V） in the charged *** methods revealed that the values of the ratio As（Ⅲ）/As（V） depended on the assimilated-phosphorus,the pseudo-total and water-extractable Fe contents and the soil p *** concentrations measured in ryegrass shoots ranged from 119 to 1602 μg/*** linear correlations were obtained between As in ryegrass shoots and water *** transfer coefficient of As correlated well with the ratio assimilated-phosphorus/***（Ⅲ）uptake by the shoot of ryegrass was controlled by the organic matter and Fe-oxide contents.

Evasion of immune surveillance is an important fea-ture of cancer,which expresses certain molecules that affect immune functions such as immune checkpoints[1].Among the molecules that impact the interactions between cancer and immune cells,PD-L1(programmed death-ligand 1)and CTLA-4(cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4)are well-known to modulate the immune system and play important roles in cancer *** tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 9(TNFRSF9),also known as CD137 or 4-1BB,is another important immune-modulating molecule known to be expressed on the surface of certain immune ***137 was originally discovered in 1989 and reported as a cell surface protein mainly located on activated T cells[2].Interaction of CD137 with its ligand(CD137L,also known as TNFSF9 or 4-1BBL)on activated anti-gen-presenting cells(APCs)could lead to bidirectional activation that promotes immunity against cancer[3].For instance,it has been shown that signals through the CD137 receptor could lead to T cell activation and sur-vival[3].Reversely,engaged CD137L could impact its expressing cells,such as dendritic cells,leading to their activation and maturation[4].Hence,the use of agonistic CD137 antibodies such as urelumab and utomilumab is considered as a promising immunotherapeutic approach to treat various types of tumors[5].
