This review intends to present a. overview of methods currently under development for the specific a.d sensitive detection of pa.hogenic ba.teria.tha. exist in a.va.iety of huma. environments. Ba.teria.continue to be a.ma.or hea.th threa. in genera., a.d much effort is being deployed to countera.t this problem. In a.first insta.ce, current a.d efficient techniques in use for the detection of ba.teria.a.e described. In a.second insta.ce, this review serves to compa.e the more conventiona. techniques to emerging technologies for the direct (non-la.elled) detection of ba.teria.(referred to a. “biosensors”). These a.proa.hes a.e ma.nly optica., piezoelectric, a.d electro-chemica. in na.ure. They a.e cost-effective, quite sensitive, a.d potentia.ly porta.le for ra.id on-site/rea.-time detection, a.d ra.id prevention. These devices a.e comprised of specific chemica./ biochemica. probes immobilized onto physica. tra.sducers. This work a.so presents compa.isons between the efficiencies (a.sa. time a.d sensitivity) of va.ious techniques being employed.

Biochips of corruga.ed gold a.d silver displa.ing surfa.e pla.mon resona.ce a. different energies a.e fa.rica.ed to determine the na.ure of the mecha.ism responsible for the surfa.e-enha.ced chemiluminescence (SECL) of *** Full Pa.er proves tha.,wherea. silver possesses the strongest resona.ce a.d the grea.est pla.mon overla. with luminol emission,silver is a.so the meta. tha. induces the lowest CL enha.cement(two orders of ma.nitude less tha. gold).Therefore,the enha.cement mecha.ism is not rela.ed to pla.mon-a.sisted processes but ra.her origina.es from ca.a.ytic properties induced by corruga.ion of the meta. film.
