polar magnets are technically of great interests for multiferroic and magnetoelectric applications in spintronic devices but difficult to *** we report a successful synthesis of a new LiNbO-type ZnFeNbO at high pressure and *** crystal structure of ZnFeNbO consists of B/B’-site Fe/Nb elemental gathering (short-range ordering) and about 11%A-site Zn-splitting as established by electron diffraction and refinements of the synchrotron x-ray diffraction data,and can be explained as two LiNbO-type subcells (ZnFeNbO)0.11-(Zn2FeNbO6)*0.89 ZnFeNbO demonstrates similar magnetic (TN～21 K)and dielectric behavior with the parent Ta-analog but lacks of any ferroelectric behavior given the high estimated spontaneous polarization (～72.3μC/cm),probably owing to the Zn-displacement and Fe/Nb shortrange *** findings suggest possible phase transition to double perovskite at higher pressure in ZnFeNbOand thus worthy of further in situ high pressure and temperature studies.

In the present work, we used five different versions of the quark-meson coupling(QMC) model to compute astrophysical quantities related to the GW170817 event and the neutron star cooling process. Two of the models are based on the original bag potential structure and three versions consider a harmonic oscillator potential to confine quarks. The bag-like models also incorporate the pasta phase used to describe the inner crust of neutron stars. With a simple method studied in the present work, we show that the pasta phase does not play a significant role. Moreover, the QMC model that satisfies the GW170817 constraints with the lowest slope of the symmetry energy exhibits a cooling profile compatible with observational data.

类异常双钙钛矿ABB’O型氧化物是一类A位为较小小离子半径离子(其半径通常小于高自旋Mn的半径)占据的化合物。相比于经典钙钛矿结构,ABB’O型氧化物因为A、B位均为小半径离子,不仅可以发生结构畸变,从而产生较大的自发极化强度;而且能使过渡金属离子同时占据A、B位,为强磁耦合作用的产生提供更大的可能性,因而是潜在的新型多功能磁电材料。ABB’O型氧化物的结构多样,如异常双钙钛矿型、有序钛铁矿(Ordered Ilmenite,OIL,R3)型、NiTe O(NTO,R3)型、LiTi TeO(LTTO,pnn2)型等等。在一定的实验条件下,部分化合物能在这些结构之间相互转换,从而可以通过结构转变来实现样品的磁、电性能调控。目前报导的具有OIL和LTTO型结构的化合物种类很少,且尚无这两种结构之间的相互转换的报导。本文采用高温/高压固相法分别合成了常压相和高压相的LiGeTeO。X射线粉末衍射结构精修表明,常压相LiGeTeO属于三方晶系,为OIL型结构(R-LGTO,R3,a=5.0038(1)?,c=14.3269(5)?,V=310.66(20)?,Z=6),高压相的LiGeTeO属于正交晶系,为LTTO型结构(O-LGTO,pnn2,a=4.9944(1)?,b=4.8064(1)?,c=8.2092(1)?,V=197.06(4)?,Z=2)。R-LGTO在3-5 Gpa的压力和800°C的温度下可转化为O-LGTO,而O-LGTO在常压下加热到750°C即可转变为R-LGTO。两种结构的LGTO都进行了电滞回线(p-E图)、不同频率下的介电温谱、倍频效应(second harmonic generation,SHG)等测试。在铁电和SHG测试中未能观测到铁电反转现象,仅在结构分析和SHG中确认了电极性结构及极性的变化。为了进一步探究两种晶型LGTO铁电性缺失的原因,需要制备单晶或者薄膜样品以进行进一步测试,并结合理论计算预测机理。上述工作首次发现了热/压条件下ABB’O型氧化物在OIL和LTTO型结构之间的相变,丰富了该体系的结构相变信息。

purpose: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the gold standard in visualizing brain tumors and their effects on adjacent structures. However, no reliable information concerning different tumor components and borders between perifocal edema and infiltration areas can be received. The aim of the study was to establish and evaluate a multimodal imaging concept, in order to differentiate different biological tumor components and to determine tumor borders. Materials and Methods: 12 patients with cerebral gliomas (four low and eight high grade) received a “morphological” MRI, a 3D MR spectroscopy and a T2* MR perfusion examination prior to surgery. Data was evaluated by defining different tumor components, which were entitled based upon their multimodal characteristics and histological data. Results: In high grade gliomas different components can be differentiated, which were described as: “true edema”, “cellular proliferation”, “vascular proliferation”, “cellular infiltration”, “tumor” and “necrosis”. In low grade gliomas, four different tumor components were found: “true edema”, “cellular infiltration”, “cellular proliferation” and “tumor”. Conclusion: With the applied multimodal imaging and a novel evaluation concept, it was possible to detect different tumor components, which could be helpful in detecting the optimal sites for tumor biopsy. Especially in morphological “edema appearing” sites, this knowledge could be important for the adaption of tumor resection borders and the planning of radiation therapy. Further studies with more patients and histological correlation are needed.

Relevance of Dried Meat product （Kundi）, an Intermediate Moisture Meat, for Food Security

The main goal of food security is for individual to be able to obtain adequate and quality food needed at all times, and to utilise the food to meet the body needs. Kundi is a relish Intermediate Moisture Meat （dried meat） product, produced in the Northern part of Nigeria. 2-3 years old male Camelus dromedarius and White Fulani animals were used for this study, 2 kg of semimembranous muscles from each animal were used, and trimmed of all external fat, connective tissues and bones. Meat samples were cut in sizeable pieces of weight ranges 70-90 grams of 6-8 cm and kept in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Fresh meat cuts were boiled for 20 minutes at 100 ~C, seasoned and oven dried for 3 hours at 170 ~C. This study assessed the proximate composition of fresh and dried meat （Kundi） products and their sensory evaluation in a completely randomized design. The results showed that fresh camel meat had 74.55% and 21.96% significantly （p 〈 0.05） higher in moisture and protein content than 72.69% and 18.96% of fresh beef, while fresh beef had higher （p 〈 0.05） ether extract （6.34%） than fresh camel meat （2.39%）. Laboratory prepared Beef Kundi （LpBK） had the highest （p 〈 0.05） value in moisture content 35.09% followed by Laboratory prepared Camel ＇Kundi＇（LpCK） with 33.21% while Commercial Kundi （CK） had the least. protein obtained was inversely proportionally to moisture content. Ether extract for LpCK and LpBK were statistically similar （p 〉 0.05） and both were lower （p 〈 0.05） than value obtained for CK. The results obtained for sensory evaluation showed that the panelist rated seasoned Kundi to have the highest significant （p 〈 0.05） valve for tenderness, flavour, colour, juiciness, texture and acceptability with values 6.50, 5.30, 6.50, 6.53, 6.30 and 7.00 respectively. Study showed that dry meat products （Kundi） is of high nutritional qualities, and could be of a great relevance; to food security.

Study of Magnetite Crystal Structure Extracted from Local Sands of Tegal Lenga Beach

Magnetite (Fe3O4) crystals have been synthesized from the natural iron sands of Tegal Lenga Beach with HCl (37%) as a solvent. Tegal Lenga Beach is a stretch of beach located in Kalisada Village, Seririt District, Buleleng Regency, Bali province, Indonesia. Iron sand samples were obtained by extracting local natural sand from Tegal Lenga Beach by magnetic separation method. The iron sand sample was ground with agate mortar for 15 hours, then washed and rinsed with deionized water (DI water). Furthermore, the fine powder sample of iron sand was dried on a hotplate at a temperature of 80˚C until all the water had evaporated. Eighty grams of fine iron sand powder dissolved in 200 mL HCl (37%) while stirring with a hot plate magnetic stirrer at a temperature of 100˚C with a rotating speed of 600 rpm for 30 minutes. This solution was filtered through Wattman filter paper No. 42;then the filtrate was dried using a hot plate at a temperature of 100˚C to form a crust. This crust is then ground in an agate mortar until it becomes a fine powder of iron sand. Furthermore, the iron sand fine powder filtrate sample was divided into four equal parts which were then calcined at temperatures of 300˚C, 400˚C, 450˚C, and 500˚C for 30 minutes, respectively. It was found that the fine powder of iron sand from the natural sand of the Tegal Lenga Beach consisted mostly of 84.26% metal oxide magnetite. The synthesized magnetite crystal has a tetrahedral structure with lattice parameters of a = b = (5.927 ± 0.0180) Åand c = (16.774 ± 0.0145) Å. Magnetite crystals have granular and lumpy grains with an average grain size of (94,560 ± 10,1397) μm. In relation to the values obtained from the hysteresis curve, namely the remanent magnetization of 9.6672 emu/gr, saturation magnetization of 45.3491 emu/gr, coercive magnetic field strength of 0.0242 T, and saturation magnetic field strength of 0, 2938 T, then this magnetite crysta
