山体滑坡是山区最常见的地质灾害之一,与地形、降水和地质构造等密切相关。滑坡灾害严重影响区域生态环境和经济社会安全。素以“千丘之国”著称的卢旺达,位居东非大裂谷中段,境内地形崎岖、地质构造复杂活跃、旱季雨季交替明显,短时强降雨频率高、强度大。强降雨引起的滑坡灾害,使这个“世界最贫困之一”国家的生态和经济社会系统不堪重负。因此,研究短时强降雨对卢旺达滑坡灾害的影响及其规律,具有重要的理论和实践价值。当前基于XG-Boost、ANN和KNN模型等技术方法针对卢旺达滑坡敏感性的研究较少,难以充分厘清滑坡发生与短时强降雨之间的相关关系及其时空规律。因此,本文运用统计分析了方法分析卢旺达区域地理特征、强降雨、海拔高度、土地利用转型等诱发因素与滑坡之间相关关系,并基于16个滑坡条件因素结合各种机器学习模型评估了卢旺达滑坡敏感性时空格局,旨在为卢旺达滑坡风险预警和滑坡防治提供科学依据。本研究主要结论如下:(1)日最大降雨量与滑坡数量之间存在显著正相关关系(pp<0.01),林地、草地向耕地和居民地转变明显,是卢旺达中部和西南部地区从中、高滑坡风险区向极高滑坡风险区转变的主要原因。(3)依据滑坡危险度(低敏感、中敏感、高敏感和极高敏感)四个等级,卢旺达约50.26%的区域处于滑坡低敏感等级,18%的区域处于中等敏感,31%的区域具有高度或极高敏感等级。空间尺度上,西部和南部敏感性最高,中部和北部中等敏感,东部敏感性最低。卢旺达滑坡灾害很大程度上取决于暴雨和地形因素,考虑这些因素可使滑坡灾害预测准确率达85%。暴雨对卢旺达山体滑坡有重大影响,雨季日降水量可高达112 mm。(4)机器学习、数理统计和GIS技术相结合能够有效提高滑坡敏感性建模和预测制图的质量和准确性。XG-Boost、ANN和KNN模型等6种模型精度均很高,变化范围为90%(似然比模型)-98%(朴素贝叶斯模型),随机森林模型和朴素贝叶斯模型的AUC准确率分别为85%和99%。相比而言,朴素贝叶斯模型明显优于其他5个模型,朴素贝叶斯模型预测滑坡敏感性性能最好。综上所述,本研究可用于制定滑坡减灾方案和环境保护措施。定期进行滑坡敏感性调查与及时分享相关信息,对于灾害频发地区非常重要。

污水水质特性是决定生物脱氮除磷工艺处理效能的关键性影响因素,尤其是进水中可快速降解有机物(rbCOD)及挥发性脂肪酸(VFA)浓度与N、p浓度比值的高低,直接制约了N、p的去除效率,补加外部碳源往往成为污水处理厂迫不得已的选择,但是外部商业碳源会导致高昂的运行费用及其他运行问题。近十年来,充分挖掘优先利用污水处理厂内碳源技术在国外得到发展和应用。介绍了回流活性污泥(RAS)进行水解补充碳源的技术优势及工艺选择,就采用RAS侧流水解发酵在国内某厂实施技术示范项目进行了介绍,以期为国内在开发活性污泥可持续性利用技术方面提供借鉴。

Introduction: Mortality following cardiac arrest (CA) is extremely high, with rates as high as 91.5% after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and 76.1% after in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA). This study assessed the clinical profile and outcomes of a large cohort of patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pCI) for OHCA to determine its effect on clinical outcomes and mortality. Methods: 247,456 patients with OHCA due to acute coronary syndrome (ACS) were abstracted from the Nationwide Inpatient Sample database (2001-2011). Results: Among 247,456 OHCA patients, 11,111 (4.5%) had pCI while 236,345 (95.5%) did not. patients who underwent pCI were younger than those who did not receive pCI (64 vs. 66 years), p p p p 65 years, female gender, AA or Hispanic race, advanced cancer, and liver dysfunction as independent factors associated with increased mortality, while pCI conferred a survival advantage in OHCA, p Conclusion: Treatment with pCI was associated with a significant decrease in mortality. pCI was performed most often in Caucasians, males, patients > 50 years old, and those with Medicare. pCI significantly reduces mortality in OHCA patients and should be considered in all OHCA patients. Further investigation and development of methods to overcome the apparent socioeconomic barriers to pCI is required.

Introduction: Aortic dissection is a rare complication of percutaneous Coronary Intervention (pCI) for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), but is associated with mortality rates of up to 20%. This study assessed the demographic and clinical profile of a large cohort of patients undergoing pCI for ACS to assess patient and clinical risk factors that may predispose to the development of aortic dissection. Methods: The Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) database (2001-2011) was used to abstract admission data on patients undergoing pCI for ACS. Results: 777,595 patients underwent pCI and 380 (0.05%) developed aortic dissection. patients who developed aortic dissection were more often older (68 vs. 64 years), female (47.4% vs. 33.8%), insured through Medicare (56.2% vs. 50.7%), Medicaid (7.9% vs. 5.3%) or uninsured/self-pay (6.3% vs. 4.7%), p p Conclusion: Aortic dissection is a rare complication of pCI, which occurs more often in older patients with Medicare insurance status. Hispanics, females, uninsured patients and those with pVD are at the highest risk of aortic dissection. Clinicians should be more cognizant of patients at increased risk of developing pCI in order to institute earlier screening in high-risk patients.

Dry forests are dominant vegetation types in East Africa. The contribution of these resources to local livelihoods is poorly understood. This study was conducted to quantify the contribution of dry forest products to household income and to identify factors that influence forest income level in the northwestern and southern lowlands of Ethiopia. Data was collected using key informant interviews, focus group discussions and formal survey administered to 428 randomly selected households from representative districts in three regional states. Regression analysis, one way ANOVA, chi-square and t-tests were used to analyze the quantitative data. The major sources of household income are crop production, livestock farming, forest products, off- and non-farm activities, and remittances and aid, contributing respectively to 46.3%, 27.6%, 17.0%, 6.3% and 2.8% of the household income. There is a major transformation in gene expression between mature B cells （including follicular, marginal zone, and germinal center cells） and antibody secreting cells （ASCs）, i.e. , ASCs, （including plasma blasts, splenic plasma cells, and long-lived bone marrow plasma cells）. This signifcant change-over occurs to accommodate the massive amount of secretory-specific immunoglobulin that ASCs make and the export processes itself. It is well known that there is an up-regulation of a small number of ASC-specific transcription factors prdm1 （B-lymphocyte-induced maturation protein 1）, interferon regulatory factor 4, and Xbp1, and the reciprocal down-regulation of pax5, Bcl6 and Bach2, which maintain the B cell program. Less well appreciated are the major alterations in transcription elongation and RNA proce-ssing occurring between B cells and ASCs. The three ELL family members ELL1, 2 and 3 have different protein sequences and potentially distinct cellular roles in transcription elongation. ELL1 is involved in DNA repair and small RNAs while ELL3 was previously described as either testis or stem-cell specifc. After B cell stimulation to ASCs, ELL3 levels fall precipitously while ELL1 falls off slightly. ELL2 is induced at least 10-fold in ASCs relative to B cells. All of these changes cause the RNA polymerase Ⅱ in ASCs to acquire different properties, leading to differences in RNA processing and histone modifcations.

Is Caries in the Early Mixed Dentition Associated with Caries Development during Orthodontic Treatment?

Objective: To investigate if caries in the pre-treatment early mixed dentition is associated with caries development in the permanent dentition during orthodontic treatment. Material and Methods: We included 41 consecutive patients (29 girls, 12 boys) with a pre-treatment documentation in the mixed (mean age 9.4 years) and a post treatment documentation in the permanent dentition (age 14.9 years) (two-phased treatment time 4.5 (±1.6) years). The DMFT/S indices were calculated. High-risk and low-risk groups were defined according to dmfs + DMFS score before treatment. Results: Initial dmft/s + DMFT/S (SD) was 5.15 (3.60) and 8.32 (6.64);final DMFT/S was 2.76 (2.84) and 3.01 (3.20). The missing (because of decay) second deciduous molars were most powerfully associated with caries increment during treatment, showing significant correlations to second premolars (r = 0.47, p = 0.003), while fillings on second deciduous molars seem to influence the prevalence of fillings on permanent molars (r = 0.44, p = 0.001). The increment at surface level was 2.01 (2.61) in the whole sample and 2.60 (3.81) in the high-risk group (4 boys, 6 girls). Compared to the low-risk group (10 girls), post-treatment caries experience was significantly higher in the high-risk group (p = 0.029). Boys were more at risk than girls (p = 0.005). Conclusions: Children with elevated caries experience in the early mixed dentition are exposed to higher caries risk during orthodontic treatment. Thus, in prevision of treatment, caries should already be assessed in the mixed dentition, so that an extended prophylaxis program can be initiated.
