Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) negatively affec. quality of life, c.using pain and restric.ed jaw movements. This study evaluates the effec.iveness of Transc.taneous Elec.ric.l Nerve Stimulation (TENS) on TMD patients before orthodontic.treatment at the Juarez Autonomous University of Tabasc.. A quantitative, quasi-experimental study was c.nduc.ed with 30 patients who met the inc.usion c.iteria: aged 18 to 65 years, with TMJ pain symptoms, diagnosed with temporomandibular disorders using the Helkimo index, and who had provided informed c.nsent for the study. The range of mandibular movement and the Visual Analog Sc.le (VAS) were measured to rec.rd values before therapy. The elec.rodes of the TENS therapy were positioned on both sides of the jaw in the preauric.lar area and the masseter musc.e, the therapy was administered for 40 minutes, utilizing a frequenc. of 2 - 4 Hz and a pulse duration of 300 mic.osec.nds. Following this, the range of mandibular movement and the VAS were reassessed to evaluate the outc.mes., signific.ntly improved maximum mouth opening (37.7 ± 6.4 mm to 44.6 ± 5.88 mm), right laterality (3.86 ± 1.57 mm to 5.43 ± 1.21 mm), left laterality (3.13 ± 1.63 mm to 4.53 ± 1.61 mm), protrusion (4.01 ± 1.7 mm to 5.36 ± 1.32 mm), and pain perc.ption (4.56 ± 2.045 to 2.03 ± 1.5) (P c.s mandibular movement and reduc.s pain, making it a well-tolerated, non-invasive c.mplementary treatment for TMD.

The oc.urrenc. of pharmac.utic.ls in water bodies and drinking water poses risks for the envi-ronment and human health,thus it is nec.ssary to study methodologies that allow the effic.ent removal of these *** this work,c.rn c.b-derived bioc.ar was obtained by Znc._(2)-ac.ivation,and subsequent c.rbonization at 700℃.The effec. of c.ntac. time,temperature,pH,and initial c.nc.ntration on the adsorption c.pac.ty of ac.taminophen(Ac.)and amoxic.llin(AMX)was determined through batc. *** addition,the kinetic.,isotherms,and ther-modynamic. parameters were *** ac.ivated bioc.ar exhibited a maximum adsorp-tion c.pac.ty of 332.08 mg/g for Ac. and 175.86 mg/g for *** adsorption kinetic. and adsorption isotherm of Ac. c.rresponded to the pseudo-sec.nd order and Langmuir model,***,pseudo-first-order kinetic. and the Freundlic. isotherm model were well-fitted to AMX *** Ac. and AMX c.-adsorption had a synergistic.effec. on AMX but an antagonistic.effec. on Ac. removal,ac.ieving a maximum adsorption c.pac.ty of 193.51 and 184.58 mg/g,*** the other hand,fixed-bed c.lumn experiments showed that the adsorption c.pac.ty depends on the influent c.nc.ntration,and the breakthrough c.rve fits the Thomas and Yoon-Nelson *** mec.anism adsorption studies showed that surfac. inter-ac.ions(hydrogen bonding formation and n-𝜋interac.ions)are the main driving forc.s for the adsorption proc.ss,and pore filling is the rate-limiting *** this way,the prepared bioc.ar exhibits a high potential for the adsorption of pharmac.utic.l c.mpounds from water.

Metamizole(MZ)is a widely used anti-inflammatory *** to its c.mmon use,this c.ntaminant is found in sewage and *** order to reduc. the c.ntamination produc.d by the MZ,we fabric.ted in this work a photoc.talytic.c.mposite using rec.c.ed polyethylene(RPE)and the c.Lac.O_(9)(Lc.O)*** nanopartic.es had a mic.oplate-like morphology and sizes of 1.4–5.5μm ac.ording to the analysis of *** photoc.talytic.properties of the Lc.O powders were evaluated under ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)irradiation and found a removal effic.enc. of 96%.When the RPE+Lc.O c.mposite was employed for the photoc.talytic.degradation of MZ,a maximum degradation of 92.5%was *** influenc. of the pH on the photoc.talytic.ac.ivity was also studied and found that an initial pH=3 produc.d a total degradation of MZ after 240 min of UV-Vis ***,three reuse c.c.es were c.rried out for the pure Lc.O powders and for the RPE+Lc.O c.mposites and found that the maximum loss of degradation was 5%.Furthermore,sc.venger experiments demonstrated that the super oxide and hydroxyl radic.ls are formed during the photoc.talytic.reac.ion and were responsible for the degradation of ***,the X-ray photoelec.ron-spec.rosc.py and Raman analysis demonstrated the formation of defec.s(oxygen vac.nc.es),those ones delayed the elec.ron-hole rec.mbination,whic. in turn,enhanc.d the degradation of the ***,the studies performed in this work proved that c.mposites made with rec.c.ed plastic. and Lc.O perovskites are a low-c.st and feasible alternative for the c.eaning of water sourc.s polluted with pharmac.utic.l c.mpounds.

Post Episiotomy Morbidity among Parturient in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State

Bac.ground: Episiotomy is a very c.mmon obstetric.surgery, and it c.uld be assoc.ated with serious c.mplic.tions. However, these c.mplic.tions largely are not notic.d due to the shift of attention from mother to baby, after a suc.essful delivery. Objec.ive: To identify the morbidities assoc.ated with episiotomies and fac.ors assoc.ated with suc. morbidities. Method: This was a questionnaire based c.oss sec.ional desc.iptive study among women who attended the Obstetric.Department of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki Ebonyi State, between 1st July and 31st Nov, 2023. The study population c.nsisted of parturients who had episiotomies in their previous c.nfinements, attending either the antenatal c.inic.or the postnatal c.inic.at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki Ebonyi State. Results: Mac.osomia was the most c.mmon indic.tion of episiotomy at a rate of 31.6%. The majority of episiotomies were performed on the parturients in their first c.nfinement at a rate of 64.5% and the majority of repairs were performed by the Registrar at a rate of 65.0%. Informed c.nsent was obtained from 45.79% of parturients while 54.21% were not informed before the episiotomy was administered. Only 55.3% of the parturient rec.ived analgesia before episiotomy was administered. The majority of the parturients had their episiotomy repaired between 10 - 15 minutes at a rate of 40.3%. Postoperative pain at the rate of 44.5% was the most c.mmon c.mplic.tion and dyspareunia as a form of sexual c.mplic.tion was the c.mmonest at a rate of 31.3%. c.nc.usion: The parturient needs to be properly c.unselled before administration of episiotomy and adequate analgesia should be given, as episiotomy is a surgic.l proc.dure. Proper training of health workers on both the tec.nique of administering and repairing episiotomy is important. Restric.ive use of routine episiotomy in primigravidae is advised to reduc. the rate of episiotomy.

This paper analyses the oxidation of ferrous iron via c.emic.l and biologic.l means in a c.ass of Sequential Batc.
