the Kortewegde Vries(KdV)equation represents the propagation of long waves in dispersive media,whereas the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger(CNLS)equation depicts the dynamics of narrow-bandwidth wave packets consisting of short dispersive waves.A model that couples these two equations seems in-triguing for simulating the interaction of long and short waves,which is important in many domains of applied sciences and engineering,and such a system has been investigated in recent *** work uses a modified Sardar sub-equation procedure to secure the soliton-type solutions of the generalized cubic nonlinear Schrödinger-Korteweg-de Vries system of *** various selections of arbitrary parameters in these solutions,the dynamic properties of some acquired solutions are represented graph-ically and *** particular,the dynamics of the bright solitons,dark solitons,mixed bright-dark solitons,W-shaped solitons,M-shaped solitons,periodic waves,and other soliton-type *** re-sults demonstrated that the proposed technique is highly efficient and effective for the aforementioned problems,as well as other nonlinear problems that may arise in the fields of mathematical physics and engineering.

Clustered organization of biosynthetic non-homologous genes is emerging as a characteristic feature of plant *** co-regulation of clustered genes seems to largely depend on epigenetic reprogram-ming and three-dimensional chromatin *** this study,we identified the long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)MARneral Silencing(MARS),localized inside the Arabidopsis marneral cluster,which con-trols the local epigenetic activation of its surrounding region in response to abscisic acid(ABA).MARS modulates the POLYCOMB REPRESSIVE COMPLEX 1(PRC1)component LIKE HEtEROCHROMAtIN PROtEIN 1(LHP1)binding throughout the cluster in a dose-dependent manner,determining H3K27me3 deposition and chromatin *** response to ABA,MARS decoys LHP1 away from the cluster and promotes the formation of a chromatin loop bringing together the MARNERAL SYNtHASE 1(MRN1)locus and a distal ABA-responsive *** enrichment of co-regulated lncRNAs in clustered meta-bolic genes in Arabidopsis suggests that the acquisition of novel non-coding transcriptional units may constitute an additional regulatory layer driving the evolution of biosynthetic pathways.

Aims: Previous studies indicate that low cholesterol levels are associated with adverse prognosis in heart failure patients, because elevated lipoprotein levels may negate bacterial endotoxin load induced by gastrointestinal congestion. Methods and results: We examined the prognostic significance of lipid levels in a cohort of 422 patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy(iDCM) [50± 12 years, 342 males, 80 females, left ventricular ejection fraction(LV-EF): 31.6± 10.6% ]. During 42 months of follow-up, 86 patients(20.3% ) died or received a heart transplant. In univariate Cox regression analysis, reduced LV-EF, high New York Heart Association(NYHA) class, and increased LV end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD) were strong risk factors associated with that endpoint, whereas decreased total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and apoprotein I levels were identified as weak risk predictors. After step-wise multivariable analysis, only LVEDD, NYHA class, and LV-EF emerged as parameters independently contributing to the model predicting risk for death or heart transplantation(Pterol levels were positively associated with LV-EF and negatively associated with LVEDD(Pting sCD14 levels, a marker of endotoxin exposure, were related to cholesterol levels(Pterol levels do not independently predict adverse prognosis in patients with iDCM. Our findings indicate that low cholesterol levels are dependent on the severity of cardiac disease.

In order to contribute to the improvement of the knowledge on the valorization of biochar as a feed additive in livestock, three biochar made from cassava peelings, bean tops and cocoa pods were manufactured. After analyzing their mineral composition, they were incorporated into rations at a rate of 0.8% in order to evaluate their effects on the performance of reproduction and pre-weaning growth in cavy (Cavia porcellus). The trials were conducted in the Research Unit of Animal Production and Nutrition (URPRONAN) of the University of Dschang, on 96 adult local breed cavy (from the first generation), including 80 females and 16 males aged 4 months and with an average weight of 400 ± 0.25 g. After 2 weeks of adaptation in the rearing boxes at the farm, the females were put in reproduction for a period of 31 days, the animals were divided into 04 batches of 20 females and 4 males. The animals in the control lot were fed a compound feed without biochar (T) while the others were fed the compound feed containing 0.8% of cassava peel biochar (EM), 0.8% of bean tops biochar (FH) and 0.8% of cocoa pod husks biochar (CC) respectively. The results of this study showed that the ash content (26%) and macro-element concentration were higher in the bean husk charcoal compared to the other charcoals and the trace elements were more concentrated in the cassava peel charcoal. When caring for children who become suddenly and catastrophically ill, clinicians must simultaneously attend to a complex and rapidly evolving medical situation, as well as to the equally challenging demands of establishing compassionate relationships with family members and communicating well with colleagues. An 18- month- old toddler was brought to the hospital with severe head injury after being struck by a car. Over a period of hours, her condition evolved from prognostic uncertainty to the diagnosis of brain death and considerations of organ donation. Against this medical backdrop, the clinicians successfully established a trusting relationship with family members by careful attention to their emotional, informational, and care needs as they absorbed the devastating prognosis, took in the results of the brain death examination, and considered the option of organ donation. this case illustrates the importance of interdisciplinary communication, the vital role of social workers and other psychosocial providers with expertise in working with families, and the critical significance of mutual care and support for the clinicians who accompany families through these tragic life events.

Background-the ultrarapid outward current IKur is a major repolarizing current in human atrium and a potential target for treating atrial arrhythmias. the effects of selective block of IKur by low concentrations of 4-aminopyridine of or the biphenyl derivative AVE 0118 were investigated on right atrial action potentials (APs) in trabeculae from patients in sinus rhythm(SR) or chronic atrial fibrillation(AF). Methods and Results-AP duration at 90%repolarization (APD90)-was shorter in AF than in SR (300±16 ms, n=6, versus 414±10 ms, n=15), whereas APD 20 was longer (35±9 ms in AF versus 5±2 ms in SR, Pted the plateau to more positive potentials from-21±3 to-6±3 mV in SR and 0±3 to+12±3 mV in AF. 4-Aminopyridine reversibly shortened APD90 from 414±10 to 350±10 ms in SR but prolonged APD90 from 300±16 to 320±13 ms in AF. Similar results were obtained with AVE 0118 (6 μmol/L). Computer simulations of IKur block in human atrial APs predicted secondary increases in ICa.L and in the outward rectifiers IKr and IKs, with smaller changes in AF than SR. the indirect increase in ICa.L was supported by a positive inotropic effect of 4-aminopyridine without direct effects on ICa.L in atrial but not ventricular preparations. In accordance with the model predictions, block of IKr with E-4031 converted APD shortening effects of IKur block in SR into AP prolongation. Conclusions-Whether inhibition of IKur prolongs or shortens APD depends on the disease status of the atria and is determined by the level of electrical remodeling.

Plant disease diagnosis in Barbados is based mainly on traditional biochemical and microbiological cultural techniques with infrequent use of molecular diagnostic techniques. the main objective of this study was to provide a simple, rapid and accurate PCR strategy for identifying plant diseases in Barbados. We used rep-PCR a molecular diagnostic technique which can provide a barcode profile for many bacteria and some pathogenic fungi. Pseudomonas syringe pv. lachrymans was detected in both seed and leaf tissue from an infected field and commercial seed samples of cucumber in Barbados. Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans reference strains were identified by rep-PCR and compared to isolates from field and commercial varieties of cucumber. Leaf and seed isolates had similar molecular profiles to different reference strains of P. syringae pv. lachryrnans and displayed different rep-PCR profiles when compared to each other. Isolates from seed also showed more variation than leaf samples. While this represents the first scientific report of the pathogen on the island, the data suggest that the presence of P. syringae pv. lachrymans in Barbados may be due to both external and internal contamination through the use of imported seed or spread by endemic epiphytes respectively.
