The objective of the present study is to propose a risk evaluation statistical model for a given vulnerability by examining the Vulnerability Life Cycle and the CVSS score. Having a better understanding of the behavior of vulnerability with respect to time will give us a great advantage. Such understanding will help us to avoid exploitations and introduce patches for a particular vulnerability before the attacker takes the advantage. Utilizing the proposed model one can identify the risk factor of a specific vulnerability being exploited as a function of time. measuring of the risk factor of a given vulnerability will also help to improve the security level of software and to make appropriate decisions to patch the vulnerability before an exploitation takes place.

Any computer system with known vulnerabilities can be presented using attack graphs. An attacker generally has a mission to reach a goal state that he expects to achieve. Expected Path Length (EPL) [1] in the context of an attack graph describes the length or number of steps that the attacker has to take in achieving the goal state. However, EPL varies and it is based on the “state of vulnerabilities” [2] [3] in a given computer system. Any vulnerability throughout its life cycle passes through several stages that we identify as “states of the vulnerability life cycle” [2] [3]. In our previous studies we have developed mathematical models using markovian theory to estimate the probability of a given vulnerability being in a particular state of its life cycle. There, we have considered a typical model of a computer network system with two computers subject to three vulnerabilities, and developed a method driven by an algorithm to estimate the EPL of this network system as a function of time. This approach is important because it allows us to monitor a computer system during the process of being exploited. Proposed non-homogeneous model in this study estimates the behavior of the EPL as a function of time and therefore act as an index of the risk associated with the network system getting exploited.

The objective of this paper is to find the stationary distribution of a certain class of markov chains arising in a biological population involved in a specific type of evolutionary conflict, known as Parker’s model. In a population of such players, the result of repeated, infrequent, attempted invasions using strategies from{0,1,2,…,m-1}, is a markov chain. The stationary distributions of this class of chains, for m ε {3,4,…,∞} are derived in terms of previously known integer sequences. The asymptotic distribution (for m →∞) is derived.

AIm: To determine patient and process of care factors associated with performance of timely laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis. mETHODS: A retrospective medical record review of 88 consecutive patients with acute cholecystitis was conducted. Data collected included demographic data, co-morbidities, symptoms and physical findings at presentation, laboratory and radiological investigations, length of stay, complications, and admission service (medical or surgical). Patients not undergoing cholecystectomy during this hospitalization were excluded from analysis. Hierarchical generalized linear models were constructed to assess the association of pre-operative diagnostic procedures, presenting signs, and admitting service with time to ***: Seventy cases met inclusion and exclusion criteria, among which 12 were admitted to the medical service and 58 to the surgical service. mean ± SD time to surgery was 39.3 ± 43 h, with 87% of operations performed within 72 h of hospital arrival. In the adjusted models, longer time to surgery was associated with number of diagnostic studies and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP, P = 0.01) as well with admission to medical service without adjustment for ERCP (P magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (mRCP) and computed tomography (CT) scans experienced the longest waits for surgery. Patients admitted to the surgical versus medical service underwent surgery earlier (30.4 ± 34.9 vs 82.7 ± 55.1 h, P mplications (12% vs 58%, P mission to the medical service and performance of numerous diagnostic procedures, ERCP, or mRCP combined with CT scan were associated with longer time to surgery. Rainfall forecasts for the summer monsoon season in the Yangtze River basin(YRB) allow decision-makers to plan for possible flooding, which can affect the lives and livelihoods of millions of people. A trial climate service was developed in 2016, producing a prototype seasonal forecast product for use by stakeholders in the region, based on rainfall forecasts directly from a dynamical model. Here, we describe an improved service based on a simple statistical downscaling approach. Through using dynamical forecast of an East Asian summer monsoon(EASm) index, seasonal mean rainfall for the upper and middle/lower reaches of YRB can be forecast separately by use of the statistical downscaling, with significant skills for lead times of up to at least three months. The skill in different sub-basin regions of YRB varies with the target season. The rainfall forecast skill in the middle/lower reaches of YRB is significant in may–June–July(mJJ), and the forecast skill for rainfall in the upper reaches of YRB is significant in June–July–August(JJA). The mean rainfall for the basin as a whole can be skillfully forecast in both mJJ and JJA. The forecasts issued in 2019 gave good guidance for the enhanced rainfall in the mJJ period and the near-average conditions in JJA. Initial feedback from users in the basin suggests that the improved forecasts better meet their needs and will enable more robust decision-making.

土地利用/覆盖分类是研究海岸带动态变化过程、理解滨海社会-生态系统作用机制和支持可持续发展的重要基础.中国海岸带土地覆盖复杂多样,以往全国海岸带土地覆盖遥感制图产品严重依赖人工目视解译,缺乏涵盖中国重要海岸带地物类型的标准化自动制图产品.结合多套中国海岸带地区公开发表的遥感数据产品,本研究建立了包含12个类型的中国海岸带土地覆盖样本库,基于谷歌地球引擎平台,采用2019~2021年哨兵主被动遥感数据构建光谱特征和纹理特征,联合基于像素和面向对象的分类方法得到10米分辨率的中国海岸带土地覆盖产品.分析结果表明,2020年中国海岸带土地覆盖遥感自动制图结果的总体精度达到79.3%,制图产品涵盖重要的中国滨海湿地类型且优于同期全球土地覆盖分类数据.本数据产品将为海岸带环境评估和监测提供重要依据,为中国海岸带综合保护和规划提供科学支持.
