A novel hollow carbon derived from biomass lotus-root has been prepared by a one-step carbonization *** carbon anode obtained at 900℃ showed the best electrochemical performance,corresponding to a high specific capacity of 445 mA·h/g at 0.1 C,as well as excellent cycling stability after 500 *** investigation exhibits that the lithium storage of hollow carbon involves Li^(+) adsorption in the defect sites and Li^(+) *** results showed that the intrinsic structure of lotus root can inspire us to prepare biomass carbon with a hollow structure as an excellent anode for lithium-ion batteries.

Niobates are promising all-climate Li^(+)-storage anode material due to their fast charge transport,large specific capacities,and resistance to electrolyte ***,their moderate unit-cellvolume expansion(generally 5%–10%)during Li^(+)storage causes unsatisfactory long-term ***,“zero-strain”NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers are explored as a new anode material with comprehensively good electrochemical *** Li^(+)storage,the expansion of electrochemical inactive NiO_(6) octahedra almost fully offsets the shrinkage of active NbO_(6) octahedra through reversible O *** superior volume-accommodation capability of the NiO_(6) layers guarantees the“zero-strain”behavior of NiNb_(2)O_(6) in a broad temperature range(0.53%//0.51%//0.74%at 25//−10//60℃),leading to the excellent cyclability of the NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers(92.8%//99.2%//91.1%capacity retention after 1000//2000//1000 cycles at 10C and 25//−10//60℃).This NiNb_(2)O_(6) material further exhibits a large reversible capacity(300//184//318 mah g−1 at 0.1C and 25//−10//60℃)and outstanding rate performance(10 to 0.5C capacity percentage of 64.3%//50.0%//65.4%at 25//−10//60℃).Therefore,the NiNb_(2)O_(6) fibers are especially suitable for large-capacity,fast-charging,long-life,and all-climate lithium-ion batteries.

The waste gas evolved from biodegradation of animal urine contains ammonia causing environmental concerns. A new and effective method for removing ammonia from such waste gas using reactive adsorption is presented. In the process, activated carbon impregnated with H2SO4（H2SO4/C） is employed. Ammonia in the waste gas reacts with H2SO4 on the adsorbent instantaneously and completely to form （NIL）2SO4. The H2SO4/C adsorbent is high in NH3 adsorption capacity and regenerable. The NH3 removal capacity of this regenerable adsorbent is more than 30 times that of the adsorbents used normally in the industry. The spent H2SO4/C is regenerated by flowing low-pressure steam through the adsorbent bed to remove the （NH4）2SO4 from the adsorbent. The regeneration by-product is concentrated （NH4）2SO4 solution, which is a perfect liquid fertilizer for local use. Re-soaking the activated carbon with H2SO4 solution rejuvenates the activity of the adsorbent. Thus the H2SOJC can be reused repeatedly. In the mechanism of this reactive adsorption process, trace of H20 in the waste gas is a required, which lends itself to treating ammonia gas saturated with moisture from biodegradation of animal urine.

Electron diffraction was used to study the local atomic structure of Cu49Hf42Al9 metallic glasses (MGs). The amorphous nature of the MG was fully retained after the compression test. The partial radial distribution functions (PRDFs) of the MG structure obtained from the atomic model using reverse Monte Carlo and density functional theory optimization display that the peaks of the first nearest-neighbour distances for Cu-Cu, Hf-Cu and Hf-Hf atomic pairs were located at 2.56 A, 2.78 A and 3.23 A, respectively. The wide distribution of PRDF for Hf-Hf atomic pair explained the high plasticity of the material.

The effect of Ce on the structure of MoVNbCeO multi-metal oxide catalysts and the performance of ethane selective oxidation was *** multi-metal oxide catalysts with superior oxidizability exhibit high catalytic activity,and vanadium acts as the active center for ethane oxidation *** improved catalytic activity is related to the increased V^(5+) content on the catalyst surface,which results from the enhanced transformation of the electrons between V and ***,Ce effectively promotes oxygen adsorption,activation,and *** the presence of Ce can also prevent MoO_(3) formation and stabilize the Mo_(5)O_(14)-like *** addition,the catalyst with a moderate amount of Ce exhibits outstanding catalytic ***,the MVN-Ce catalyst with a Ce/V ratio of 0.1 exhibits the best performance:the total selectivity of the catalyst toward C_(2)H_(4) and CH_(3) COOH is the highest(72%) at the ethane conversion of 31%.Therefore,MoVNbCeO multi-metal oxides are promising candidates for selective oxidation.

The further improvement of methacrolein(MAL)selectivity from isobutene(IB)oxidation is crucial and *** this study,based on the typical Mo-Bi-Fe-Co-K-O mixed metal oxide,the rare earth element Gd-doped,Ce-doped and CeGd co-doped catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation strategy to increase the selectivity of MAL from 47.9%to 49.8%,64.2% and 68.6%,*** order to elucidate in-depth the promoting effect of Ce and/or Gd,various characterizations were utilized including X-ray diffraction patterns(XRD),Raman,X-ray fluorescence spectrometry(XRF),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),O_(2)-temperature programmed desorption(O_(2)-TPD),H2-temperature programmed reduction(H2-TPR),CO_(2)-temperature programmed desorption(CO_(2)-TPD),IB-temperature programmed desorption(i-C4-TPD)and in-situ IB-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(IB-FTIR).Both Ce and Gd finely regulate the bulk and surface structure of the catalyst,thus altering the redox ability,oxygen mobility and storage ability and *** with Ce,Gd addition slightly regulates the variation of Co^(2+)/Co^(3+)redox couples,greatly enhances the interaction among the components on the catalyst,thus only increases the content of surface oxygen species and has little effect on their *** Cecontaining catalyst performs stronger oxygen storage and migration ability,thus leading to the overproduction of surface Odefectspecies,which are proposed to be the active sites for the production of MAL and *** CeGd co-doped catalyst possesses the proper content of surface Odefectspecies,thus exhibits much higher MAL ***,the promoting mechanism of Ce and/or Gd over IB oxidation is ***,this work is helpful for understanding the influence of rare earth elements on the structure of mixed metal oxides and the olefin selective oxidation reaction.

Enhancement of La2O3 to Li-Mn/WO3/TiO2 for oxidative coupling of methane

A series of La2O3-promoted Li-Mn/WO3/TiO2 catalysts were prepared by varying the concentration of La2O3 *** effect of La2O3 promoter on its properties and catalytic performance for OCM was characterized with XRD,FT-IR,O2-TPD,Raman,CO2-TPD,H2-TPR,XPS and CH4-TPSR,The results show that all the La2O3-promoted Li-Mn/WO3/TiO2 catalysts possess a larger amount of strong basic sites and more abundant chemisorbed oxygen species in comparison with Li-Mn/WO3/TiO2,which is beneficial to OCM ***,La2O3 promoter can enhance the mobility of the oxygen species and the Mn species redox ability,which can also be favorable for the improvement of the catalytic performance for OCM,Due to the optimal synergistic interaction of these factors,5 wt%La2O3-Li-Mn/WO3/TiO2 exhibits the best performance among all the catalysts,on which the highest C2 yield of 19.2% is achieved at 750℃.

Effect of impregnation strategy on catalytic hydrogenation behavior of PtCo catalysts supported on La2O2CO3 nanorods

Small Pt and Pt-Co nanoparticles（NPs） stabilized on La2 O2 CO3 nanorods（LOC） were prepared by wet impregnation method,and probed in liquid-phase chemoselective hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde（CRAL） to crotyl alcohol（CROL）.It is found that incorporation of Co atoms into Pt catalyst significantly improves the hydrogenation activity and desired selectivity to CROL as it destroys the Pt-lanthanum interfaces and results into the formation of Pt-Co *** addition,a close examination of catalyst surface and reactive performance suggests that the impregnation sequence of Pt and Co exerts great influence on the physicochemical property and the catalytic hydrogenation behavior of PtCo/LOC *** a result of the interaction between Pt and Co species,high alloying degree of Pt-Co NPs is obtained in the co-impregnated catalyst（Pt-Co/LOC）,thus achieving the highest hydrogenation *** selective deposit of Co atoms onto the low-coordinated Pt sites leads to the smallest metal particle size and high dispersion of Pt-Co NPs over the Pt/Co/LOC,giving rise to the highest selectivity and yield to CROL.

To explain CP violation in Kaon system in the light of the recently measured b - lifetime within the framework of three generations of quarks, the top quark mass has to be greater than 50GeV if the current algebra value of the factor BK is adopted and | ε’/ε|< 0.01. In this letter a fourth generation of quark is considered which can fit the present experimental data on CP violation, and KL→ μ ^(+) μ^(- )decay rate for top quark mass is around 40GeV. The mass of the new charge 2/3 quark is predicted to be over 100Gev.
