Aquatic Species Dominate Organic Matter in Qinghai Lake during the Holocene:evidence from eolian Deposits around the Lake

Total organic carbon（TOC） in lake sediments and its stable carbon isotope（δ（13）C（org）） are widely applied to investigate paleoenvironmental changes even though their implications are complicated and multi-explanatory. Organic geochemistry studies of lake sediments from Qinghai Lake have been investigated, but some interpretations are controversial. In this study, TOC of one Holocene eolian section and δ（13）C（org） of three eolian sections were studied around Qinghai Lake. Results indicate that the TOC content in eolian deposits was low during the early Holocene, and gradually increased to high values during the Middle and Late Holocene. The variation in TOC content of eolian deposits is different from that in the lacustrine sequence from Qinghai Lake during the Holocene. The δ（13）C（org） values in the eolian sections were relatively stable, with oscillation amplitudes of 4‰（ranging from-25.8‰ to-22.1‰）, in contrast to 10‰ variation s in δ（13）C（org） values（varying from-30‰ to-20‰） in lacustrine sediments. Through comparison of TOC and δ（13）C（org） values between eolian deposits and lacustrine sediments, we can confirm indications that the organic matter in Qinghai Lake sediments during the Holocene was primarily a contribution of the aquatic species in the lake. This is significant for understanding the origin of organic matter in lake sediments on the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and for paleoenvironmental inferences using such proxies.

Pastoralism is considered a crucial factor in the eventual year-round occupation of high-altitude regions(>3000 m asl)of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,and the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(Ne-QTP)was an important corridor for early human occupation.We analyzed fossil fungal spore records for the last 8500 years from a high resolution aeolian section at Langgeri(LGR)on the Ne-QTP.Thirty-two fungal spore types were identified in the LGR section,including seven coprophilous types.We combined analysis of coprophilous fungal spores,Cyperaceae,Artemisia,and Hippophae pollen,and the charcoal>50µm fraction to explore the timing and controls of pastoralism on the Ne-QTP since the middle Holocene.Pastoralism commenced at LGR shortly before ca.5.5 ka and gradually increased between ca.5.5–3.5 ka,but markedly intensified after ca.2.2 ka,with three periods of growth at ca.2.1–1.9,1.4–1.2,and 0.6–0 ka,and a decline at ca.1.1–0.6 ka.The timing of changes in pastoral activity on the Ne-QTP based on the coprophilous fungal spore record is supported by regional archeology and historical documents.Technological and political developments,rather than climate change,played key roles in the long-term fluctuations of regional pastoralism on the Ne-QTP in the late Holocene.

研究横向磁场中矩形薄板在外激励作用下的超谐波共振和1∶3内共振的联合共振问题。针对一边固定三边简支的矩形薄板,利用Galerkin积分法得到两自由度非线性振动微分方程组。采用多尺度法求解,得到前两阶模态的幅频响应方程组。通过算例,得到系统发生超谐-内联合共振时前两阶响应幅值与各参数关系的曲线图,讨论了外激励幅值、磁场强度等参数对系统振动的影响。结果表明,考虑内共振时高阶模态被间接激发,系统存在着能量的交换,调节磁场强度可控制系统的共振。

Spinal cord injury results in significant sensorimotor deficits,currently,there is no curative treatment for the symptoms induced by spinal cord injury.Basic and pre-clinical research on spinal cord injury relies on the development and characterization of appropriate animal models.These models should replicate the symptoms observed in human,allowing for the exploration of functional deficits and investigation into various aspects of physiopathology of spinal cord injury.Non-human primates,due to their close phylogenetic association with humans,share more neuroanatomical,genetic,and physiological similarities with humans than rodents.Therefore,the responses to spinal cord injury in nonhuman primates most likely resemble the responses to traumatism in humans.In this review,we will discuss nonhuman primate models of spinal cord injury,focusing on in vivo assessments,including behavioral tests,magnetic resonance imaging,and electrical activity recordings,as well as ex vivo histological analyses.Additionally,we will present therapeutic strategies developed in non-human primates and discuss the unique specificities of non-human primate models of spinal cord injury.

This article presents an event-triggered H_(∞) consensus control scheme using reinforcement learning (RL) for nonlinear second-order multi-agent systems (MASs) with control constraints. First, considering control constraints, the constrained H_(∞) consensus problem is transformed into a multi-player zero-sum game with non-quadratic performance functions. Then, an event-triggered control method is presented to conserve communication resources and a new triggering condition is developed for each agent to make the triggering threshold independent of the disturbance attenuation level. To derive the optimal controller that can minimize the cost function in the case of worst disturbance, a constrained Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation is defined. Since it is difficult to solve analytically due to its strongly non-linearity, reinforcement learning (RL) is implemented to obtain the optimal controller. In specific, the optimal performance function and the worst-case disturbance are approximated by a time-triggered critic network;meanwhile, the optimal controller is approximated by event-triggered actor network. After that, Lyapunov analysis is utilized to prove the uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) stability of the system and that the network weight errors are UUB. Finally, a simulation example is utilized to demonstrate the effectiveness of the control strategy provided.

Oxygen-containing species have been demonstrated to play a key role in facilitating electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction(CO_(2)RR),particularly in enhancing the selectivity towards multi-carbon(C2+)products.However,the underlying promotion mechanism is still under debate,which greatly limits the rational optimization of the catalytic performance of CO_(2)RR.Herein,taking CO_(2) and O_(2) co-electrolysis over Cu as the prototype,we successfully clarified how O_(2) boosts CO_(2)RR from a new perspective by employing comprehensive theoretical simulations.Our results demonstrated that O_(2) in feed gas can be rapidly reduced into^(*)OH,leading to the partial oxidation of Cu surface under reduction conditions.Surface^(*)OH accelerates the formation of quasi-specifically adsorbed K^(+)due to the electrostatic interaction between^(*)OH and K^(+)ions,which significantly increases the concentration of K^(+)near the Cu surface.These quasi-specifically adsorbed K+ions can not only lower the C-C coupling barriers but also promote the hydrogenation of CO_(2) to improve the CO yield rate,which are responsible for the remarkably enhanced efficiency of C^(2+)products.During the whole process,O_(2) co-electrolysis plays an indispensable role in stabilizing surface^(*)OH.This mechanism can be also adopted to understand the effect of high pH of electrolyte and residual O in oxide-derived Cu(OD-Cu)on the catalytic efficiency towards C^(2+)products.Therefore,our work provides new insights into strategies for improving C^(2+)products on the Cu-based catalysts,i.e.,maintaining partial oxidation of surface under reduction conditions.

This study discusses the effects of local sites and hazard amplification on the seismic vulnerability assessment of existing masonry buildings.In this context,a rapid seismic evaluation procedure was implemented on an old masonry building stock in the historical center Galata,located inİstanbul,to determine the seismic risk priority of the built heritage.Damage scenarios were generated for all soil classes,different moment magnitudes,and source-to-site distances to obtain more accurate results for the seismic vulnerability assessment of the studied building stock.Consequently,damage distributions estimated under nine different scenarios with/without site effects were compared and illustrated in maps to discuss changes in vulnerability owing to amplification effects.In this study,by re-examining the rapid seismic evaluation procedure by including geo-hazard-based assessment,the importance of site effects on the vulnerability and risk assessment of built heritage was underlined.The proposed framework integrating field data and local site effects is believed to advance the current applications for vulnerability assessment of masonry buildings and provide an improvement in the application of rapid seismic assessment procedures with more reliable results.

This is a survey of local and global classification results concerning Dupin hypersurfaces in S^(n)(or R^(n))that have been obtained in the context of Lie sphere geometry.The emphasis is on results that relate Dupin hypersurfaces to isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres.Along with these classification results,many important concepts from Lie sphere geometry,such as curvature spheres,Lie curvatures,and Legendre lifts of submanifolds of S^(n)(or R^(n)),are described in detail.The paper also contains several important constructions of Dupin hypersurfaces with certain special properties.
