Boosting thermal stability and crystallization of closed-loop-recyclable biodegradable poly(p-dioxanone) by end-group regulation

A chemically closed-loop-recyclable biodegradable polymer,poly(p-dioxanone)(PPDO),is one of the ideal candidates for single-use plastic products due to its suitability for different application ***,when PPDO wastes can be collected,its monomer p-dioxanone(PDO) will be obtained through chemical recycling of these wastes;when cannot be collected,the wastes are able to be biodegraded into harmless ***,unsatisfied thermal stability and low crystallization rate of PPDO restrict its wider ***,based on end-group regulation,we simultaneously realized the significant enhancement of thermal stability and crystallization of PPDO through the simple melt processing with tributyl phosphite(TBP) or triphenyl phosphite(TPP).The model reactions were conducted to investigate the reaction mechanism and theoretical products during the preparation of PPDO/phosphite *** kinds of phosphites were proved to act as the end-capped reagent and chain extender in the melt processing,while TBP presented better *** a result,the activation energy of thermal decomposition was largely elevated,and the unprecedented T_(5%)(the temperature at a weight loss of 5%) and Tmax(the temperature at a maximum rate of weight loss) of PPDO were obtained,i.e.,T_(5%)of ~330 ℃ and Tmaxof ~385 ℃ in N_(2) atmosphere,T_(5%)of ~240 ℃ and Tmaxof ~317 ℃ in air atmosphere,***,the increased crystallization rate,crystallinity,crystalline orderliness,and realizable monomer recovery(yield >90%,purity >99.9%) of PPDO/phosphite compounds were confirmed.

The associations of individual amino acid with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)risk remained *** present study aimed to investigate the associations between the two in the Chinese ***:A community-based health check-up program was conducted in Qingdao,*** was diagnosed by ultrasonography accompanied by epidemiological *** dietary intakes of amino acids were investigated with 3-day,24-h dietary records and calculated by Nutrition Calculator *** cubic spline model was used to evaluate a nonlinear relationship between amino acid intake and NAFLD ***:400 NAFLD subjects were identified,and 400 participants were randomly selected as controls and matched by gender and age(±3 years)Dose-response analysis showed that 1000 mg increment of aromatic amino acids(AAAs)was associated with reduced 16%risk of *** increments of 750 mg/d threonine,950 mg/d valine,or 1700 mg/d lysine were associated with a 20%reduction in the NAFLD risk(all P for linearityting against NAFLD in the elderly.

Stability Analysis of a Lignocellulose Degrading Microbial Consortium

An active mesophilic lignocellulose degrading microbial consortium, designated LZF-12, was bred from humus-rich soil by successive subcultivation under facultative aerobic static condition. Batch experiments were performed to investigate the structural and functional stability of lignocellulose degradation of rice straw of 10 g · L-1. The results showed that efficient degradation of rice straw(>70%) could be achieved and acetic acid concentration accounted for over 70% of total aqueous products from different generations by microbial consortium LZF-12 within 7 days. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE) and sequencing of 16 S r DNA sequences amplified from the total consortium DNA representing the presence of sequences were related to those of Clostridium, Clostridium cellulolyticum, Pseudomonas, Acetivibrio and some uncultured bacteria in LZF-12. DGGE pattern profiles from different LZF-12 generations were reproducible, suggesting the relative stabilities of the microbial community structure and succession mechanism in the established consortium.

Capturing and visualizing the phase transition mediated thermal stress of thermal barrier coating materials via a cross-scale integrated computational approach

The generation and evaluation of severely high thermal stress(σ)is known to be responsible for failure of thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)during thermal *** is crucial and challenging to capture fluctuations inσcaused by the phase transition,which has motivated us to develop a high-throughput multiscale evaluation method forσin TBCs that considers the phase transition of the top ceramic materials by coupling first-principles calculations with finite element *** method quantitatively evaluates and visualizesσof the real TBC structure under thermal cycling by multifield ***,the thermophysical properties calculated by the first-principles calculations consider the effects of temperature and phase transition,which not only reduces the cost of obtaining data but also has a more physical *** this work,rare earth tantalites(RETaO_(4))are introduced as ceramic layers,and the results demonstrate thatσundergoes a rapid escalation near the phase transition temperature(T_(t)),particularly in the TBCs_GdTaO_(4) system,where it rises from 224 to 435 *** discontinuity inσmay originate from the significant alterations in Young’s modulus(increase by 27%–78%)and thermal conductivity(increase by 53%–146%)near T_(t).The TBCs_NdTaO_(4) and TBCs_SmTaO_(4) systems exhibit noteworthy temperature drop gradients and minimalσfluctuations,which are beneficial for extending service lifetime of *** approach facilitates the prediction of failure mechanisms and provides theoretical guidance for the reverse design of TBC materials to obtain low thermal stress systems.

Analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of Cotinus coggygria *** in vivo

Objective:To assess the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of standardized extract of Cotinus coggygria(***)in different animal ***:*** extracts(25,50,and 100 mg/kg)were administered to rats and mice(n=6)during hot plate,tail-flick,acetic acid-induced writhing,and formalin tests to determine its analgesic *** anti-inflammatory activity of *** extracts was evaluated by histamine and carrageenan-induced paw edema,cotton pellet-induced granuloma,and acetic acid-induced peritoneal capillary dye leakage ***:*** extracts(50 and 100 mg/kg)significantly alleviated thermal and chemical-induced pain in rodents(Pting histamine and carrageenan-induced paw edema,granuloma deposits,and vascular permeability(P<0.05).Moreover,*** extracts remarkably reduced TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,COX-2,and oxidative stress in rat paws(P<0.05).Carrageenan-induced histological aberrations in hind paw tissues were effectively(P<0.05)mitigated by treatment with *** ***:*** *** show analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects via inhibition of COX-2 and inflammatory and oxidative mediators.

Observing eddy dye patches induced by shear instabilities in the surf zone on a plane beach

The effects of surf zone eddy generated by alongshore currents on the deformation and transport of dye are still poorly understood,and related tracer release experiments are ***,a tracer release laboratory experiment was conducted under monochromatic,unidirectional incident waves with a large incident angle(30°)on a plane beach with a 1:100 slope in a large wave basin.A charge-coupled device suspended above the basin recorded the dye patch *** evolution of eddy dye patch was observed and the transport and diffusion were analyzed based on the collected ***,a linear instability numerical model was adopted to calculate the perturbation velocity field at the initial *** observation and image processing results show that surf zone eddy patches occurred and were separated from the original dye *** numerical analysis results demonstrate that the structure of the perturbation velocity field is consistent with the experimental observations,and that the ejection of eddy patches shoreward or offshore may be ascribed to the double vortex.

Revealing the oxidation behavior of superalloys is crucial for optimizing material properties and extending service *** study investigated the oxidation behavior of superalloy GH4738 under stress states at 850℃.High-throughput specimens were fabricated to withstand different stresses at the same *** oxidation s amples were analyzed using the mass gain method to obtain oxidation kinetic *** results show that the external stress below 200 MPa could improve the oxidation resistance of the *** tensile stress increasing,the oxide layer becomes thinner,denser and more complete,while internal oxidation *** tensile stress alters the structure of the external oxide layer from a two-layer to a threelayer *** Cr_(2)O_(3) oxide layer inhibits the outward diffusion of Ti,leading to Ti enrichment at the oxide-matrix interface and altering the oxidation mechanism of GH4738.

Numerical and experimental study on the falling film flow characteristics with the effect of co-current gas flow in hydrogen liquefaction process

Liquid hydrogen storage and transportation is an effective method for large-scale transportation and utilization of hydrogen energy. Revealing the flow mechanism of cryogenic working fluid is the key to optimize heat exchanger structure and hydrogen liquefaction process(LH2). The methods of cryogenic visualization experiment, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are conducted to study the falling film flow characteristics with the effect of co-current gas flow in LH2spiral wound heat *** results show that the flow rate of mixed refrigerant has a great influence on liquid film spreading process, falling film flow pattern and heat transfer performance. The liquid film of LH2mixed refrigerant with column flow pattern can not uniformly and completely cover the tube wall surface. As liquid flow rate increases, the falling film flow pattern evolves into sheet-column flow and sheet flow, and liquid film completely covers the surface of tube wall. With the increase of shear effect of gas-phase mixed refrigerant in the same direction, the liquid film gradually becomes unstable, and the flow pattern eventually evolves into a mist flow.

Structural Regulations of Layered Borates:From Centric Layers to Chiral Porous Layers

Three pentaborates were made by precise structural regulations under hydrothermal conditions,namely,K_(2)Cs-[B_(5)O_(8)(OH)]·0.5CO_(3)(1),KNa_(4)Cs[B_(5)O_(8)(OH)]_(2)·2OH(2),and NaBa[B_(5)O_(8.5)(OH)](3).Compound 1 features the typical 2D layers constructed from the four-connected B_(5)O_(10)(OH)*** adjustment of the reactants and pH values of the systems to remove interlayered CO_(3)^(2−)groups,the centric layers in 1 were transformed to the chiral layers of *** further adjusting cationic templates based on host−guest charge matching,the B_(5)O_(10)(OH)cluster unit was transformed to B_(5)O_(11)(OH),which built the chiral porous layers of *** chiral compounds 2 and 3 exhibit moderate second harmonic generation(SHG)responses of 1.1 and 1.7 times that of KDP(KH_(2)PO_(4)).The structural regulations actualize the evolutions on both structural symmetries and dimensions.

Glass catfish(Kryptopterus vitreolus)are notable in the aquarium trade for their highly transparent body *** transparency is due to the loss of most reflective iridophores and light-absorbing melanophores in the main body,although certain black and silver pigments remain in the face and *** date,however,the molecular mechanisms underlying this transparent phenotype remain largely *** explore the genetic basis of this transparency,we constructed a chromosome-level haplotypic genome assembly for the glass catfish,encompassing 32 chromosomes and 23344 protein-coding genes,using PacBio and Hi-C sequencing technologies and standard assembly and annotation *** revealed a premature stop codon in the putative albinism-related tyrp1b gene,encoding tyrosinase-related protein 1,rendering it a nonfunctional ***,a synteny comparison with over 30 other fish species identified the loss of the endothelin-3(edn3b)gene in the glass catfish *** investigate the role of edn3b,we generated edn3b^(−/−)mutant zebrafish,which exhibited a remarkable reduction in black pigments in body surface stripes compared to wild-type *** findings indicate that edn3b loss contributes to the transparent phenotype of the glass *** high-quality chromosome-scale genome assembly and identification of key genes provide important molecular insights into the transparent phenotype of glass *** findings not only enhance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying transparency in glass catfish,but also offer a valuable genetic resource for further research on pigmentation in various animal species.
