Borylation of 1,3-enynes with bis(boronate)compounds often ends up with the formation of hydroborylated products,leaving the diborylation of 1,3-enynes for the formation of 1,4-diborylated allenes to be ***,a copper-c.t.lyzed chemo-,regio-,and stereo-selective diborylation of 1,3-enynes for the efficient construction of 1,4-diborylated allenes under base-free conditions was reported.A wide range of 1,3-enynes bearing various functional groups can participant in the reaction and afforded the corresponding 1,4-diborylated allenes in good to excellent yields,which was enabled by the protocol of Bpin to BF3K *** borylcopper species was supposed to selectively attack the c-c.t.iple bond of the 1,3-enynes.

to access the influence of a vegetation on soil microorganisms toward organic pollutant biogegration,this study examined the rhizospheric effects of four plant species(sudan grass,white clover,alfalfa,and fescue)on the soil microbial community and in-situ pyrene(PYR)*** results indic.t.d that the spiked PYR levels in soils decreased substantially compared to the control soil without *** equal planted densities,the efficiencies of PYR degradation in rhizosphere with sudan grass,white clover,alfalfa and fescue were 34.0%,28.4%,27.7%,and 9.9%,***,on the basis of equal root biomass the efficiencies were in order of white clover..*** increased PYR biodegradation was attributed to the enhanced bacterial population and activity induced by plant roots in the *** microbial species and biomasses were elucidated in terms of microbial phospholipid ester-linked fatty acid(PLFA)*** principal component analysis(PcA)revealed significant changes in PLFA pattern in planted and non-planted soils spiked with *** PLFAs in planted soils were all higher than those in non-planted *** assemblages indic.t.d that bacteria were the primary PYR degrading microorganisms,and that Gram-positive bacteria exhibited higher tolerance to PYR than Gram-negative bacteria did.

AIM: to evaluate which patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (Hcc) are most likely to respond to thalidomide treatment. MEtHODS: From July 2002 to July 2004, patients with Hcc who received thalidomide treatment, were enrolled. We extracted relevant data from the patients’ medical records, including history and type of hepatitis, comorbidity, serum α-fetoprotein (α-FP) level, volumetric changes in tumor, length of survival, and the dose, duration, side effects of thalidomide treatment. the tumor response was evaluated. On the basis of these data, the patients were divided into two groups: those with either partial response or stable disease (PR + SD group) and those with progressive disease (PD group). RESULtS: two of 42 (5%) patients had a partial tumor response after treatment with thalidomide, 200 mg/d, and 9 (21%) had stable disease. Patients in the PR + SD group all had cirrhosis. comparing patients with and without cirrhosis, the former were more likely to respond to thalidomide therapy (PR + SD: 100% vs PD: 64.5%, P = 0.041 thalidomide was significantly more likely to be effective in tumors smaller than 5 cm (PR + SD: 63.6% vs PD: 25.8%, P = 0.034 compared with patients with progressive disease (PD), patients in the PR + SD group had a higher total dose of thalidomide (13 669.4 ± 8446.0 mg vs 22 022.7 ± 11 461.4 mg, P = 0.023 tients with comorbid disease had a significantly greater incidence of adverse reactions than those without (93.8% vs 60.0%, P = 0.021 the average number of adverse reactions in each person with a comorbid condition was twice as high as in those without other diseases (2.2 ± 1.3 vs 1.1 ± 1.2; P = 0.022 cONcLUSION: thalidomide therapy is most likely to beeffective in patients with early stage small Hcc, espe- cially in those with other underlying diseases. Shallow marine sequences of the northern South china Sea (ScS) are uplifted and exposed by plate convergence in the taiwan mountain belt. these deposits provide detailed geological information about the rifting event, stratigraphy, sedimentology, paleoclimate and paleoceanography of the shallow ScS to compare with what are recorded in the ODP 1148 deep-sea core. Seismic surveys and marine micropalentological studies show that Eocene sequences in the offshore taiwan Strait and onland taiwan mountain belt are all deposited in rifting basins and are covered unconformably by the Late Oligocene-Neogene post-rifting strata. Between syn-rifting and post-rifting sequences, there is a regional break-up unconformity throughout the island. Early Oligocene and Late Eocene strata are missing along the break-up unconformity equivalent to the t7 unconformity in the Pearl River Mouth Basin off south china. this may suggest that the ScS oceanic crust could have initiated between 33 and 39 Ma. Neither obvious stratigraphic gap nor slumping features are found in the Oligocene-Miocene transition interval of taiwan. this observation highly contrasts with what has been documented from the ODP 1148 deep-sea core. this suggests that the stratigraphic gap and slumping features could only be recorded in the ScS deep sea region, but not in the shallow shelf near taiwan. compared to the Middle Miocene paleoceanographic re-organization events in the ScS deep sea, the geological history of the taiwan shallow sequence shows changes of in sedimentation and faunal composition. Due to the Antarctic glacial expansion at^14 Ma, Middle to late Miocene strata of the Western Foothills show progressive regression sedimentations associated with a decrease of benthic foraminif-eral abundance and a sharp faunal turnover event. Many Early-Middle Miocene endemic benthic foraminifers were extinct in 14-13 Ma and new benthic foraminifers of the Kuroshio current fauna appeared from 10.2 Ma, comparable with new oc

AIM： to isolate putative pancreatic stem cells （PScs） from human adult tissues of pancreas duct using serumfree, conditioned medium. the characterization of surface phenotype of these PScs was analyzed by flow c.t.metry. the potential for pancreatic lineage and the capability of β-cell differentiation in these PScs were evaluated as well. MEtHODS： By using serum-free medium supplemented with essential growth factors, we attempted to isolate the putative PScs which has been reported to express nestin and pdx-1. the MatrigeltM was employed to evaluate the differential capac.t. of isolated cells. Dithizone staining, insulin content/secretion measurement, and immunohistochemistry staining were used to monitor the differentiation. Fluorescence activated cell sorting （FAcS） was used to detect the phenotypic markers of putative PScs. RESULtS： A monolayer of spindle-like cells was cultivated. the putative PScs expressed pdx-1 and nestin. they were also able to differentiate into insulin-, glucagon-, and somatostatin-positive cells. the spectrum of phenotypic markers in PScs was investigated; a similarity was revealed when using human bone marrow-derived stem cells as the comparative experiment, such as cD29, cD44, cD49, cD50, cD51, cD62E, PDGFR-α, cD73 （SH2）, cD81, cD105（SH3）. cONcLUSION： In this study, we successfully isolated PScs from adult human pancreatic duct by using serumfree medium. these PScs not only expressed nestin and pdx-1 but also exhibited markers attributable to mesenchymal stem cells. Although work is needed to elucidate the role of these cells, the applic.t.on of these PScs might be therapeutic strategies for diabetes mellitus.

目的:观察黄酮对氧化剂所诱导的视网膜色素上皮细胞(RPE)的保护作用。方法:在体研究中,预先给予5g/L黄酮滴眼液(3次/d),1wk后舌下静脉注射NaIO3诱导大鼠RPE变性,在2和4wk末,采用视网膜电图(ERG)测量c波。离体研究中,采用缺氧、H2O2、NaN3和t-BHP诱导RPE细胞损伤,并用Mtt法检测细胞的存活率。结果:ERG的c波结果表明,第4wk末,黄酮抑制了由NaIO3诱导的大鼠RPE变性。离体研究结果表明,黄酮对多种氧化剂所诱导的RPE细胞损伤具有保护作用。结论:黄酮对氧化诱导的在体和离体视网膜色素上皮细胞均具有保护作用。
