BACKGROUND Atypical optic neuritis,consisting of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders(NmOSD)or myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disease(mOGAD),has a very similar presentation but different prognostic implications and longterm management *** and metabolic factors are being thought to play a role in such autoimmune neuro-inflammatory disorders,apart from the obvious immune mediated *** the advent of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA),it is easy to pick up on these subclinical macular microvascular and structural *** To study the macular microvascular and structural changes on OCTA in atypical optic *** This observational cross-sectional study involved 8 NmOSD and 17 mOGAD patients,diagnosed serologically,as well as 10 healthy *** vascular density(mVD)and ganglion cell+inner plexiform layer thickness(GCIPL)were studied using *** There was a significant reduction in mVD in NmOSD and mOGAD affected as well as unaffected eyes when compared with healthy *** and mOGAD affected eyes had significant GCIPL thinning compared with healthy *** unaffected eyes did not show significant GCIPL thinning compared to healthy controls in contrast to mOGAD unaffected *** comparing NmOSD with mOGAD,there was no significant difference in terms of mVD or GCIPL in the affected or unaffected *** Although significant microvascular and structural changes are present on OCTA between atypical optic neuritis and normal patients,they could not help in differentiating between NmOSD and mOGAD cases.

Achilles tendon rupture has been on the rise over recent years due to a variety of reasons. It is a debilitating injury with a protracted and sometimes incomplete recovery. management strategy is a controversial topic and evidence supporting a definite approach is limited. Opinion is divided between surgical repair and conservative immobilisation in conjunction with functional orthoses. A systematic search of the literature was performed. Pubmed, medline and EmB ase databases were searched for Achilles tendon and a variety of synonymous terms. A recent wealth of reporting suggests that conservative regimens with early weight bearing or mobilisation have equivalent or improved rates of re-rupture to operative regimes. The application of dynamic ultrasound assessment of tendon gap may prove crucial in minimising re-rupture and improving outcomes. Studies employing functional assessments have found equivalent function between operative and conservative treatments. However, no specific tests in peak power, push off strength or athletic performance have been reported and whether an advantage in operative treatment exists remains undetermined.

Wireless body area networks(WBANs)would benefit reasonably after the introduction of mmWaves in the *** characteristics like high data rate and reduced antenna size are crucial ***,the drawbacks of mmWaves like high pathloss and high interference can be reduced by use of spectrum *** paper proposes a method of spectrum switching for indoor applications over the frequency range of 5 GHz to 60 GHz based on SNR as a *** helps to maximize the throughput and minimize the pathloss over varied distance between the *** paper further discusses the effects of this frequency on *** accuracy of the object tracking during the beam alignment despite of the narrow bandwidth is maintained due to prediction of the mobile user equipment by Kalman *** results are supported by matlab simulation of a mobile UE over a range of 100 m and the corresponding spectrum switching and beam alignment results are *** object tracking model is built with the help of Gaussian random walk and the results show an error margin of less than 1 m which is within the threshold designed for the *** paper also presents the challenges reflected on secondary parameters like directivity,energy consumption,and beamforming array structures.

A Coal mine Dump Stability Analysis—A Case Study

The present paper mainly deals with a case study of failed dump slope in western coalfield limited, Nagpur, India. A huge mass of debris flow had happened during the routine the activity of mining. The failed dump had a height of 75 m with 43? slope angle which had slipped forward by 18m. Representative loose dump material samples were collected from the site and tested to determine the physico-mechanical properties of dump material. The dump material consisted of loose fragments and lumps of friable sandstone, shale, clay and carbonaceous shale. To evaluate the condition of failure, a well known, shear strength reduction tech-nique has been applied to achieve the desired factor of safety using two dimensional finite element code. Fi-nally, a economical, sustainable and stable dump angle and height has been suggested for smooth and safe disposal of the dump.
