This article reviews recent developments in the non-Hermitian skin effect(NHSE),particularly on its rich interplay with *** review starts off with a pedagogical introduction on the modified bulk-boundary correspondence,the synergy and hybridization of NHSE and band topology in higher dimensions,as well as,the associated topology on the complex energy plane such as spectral winding topology and spectral graph *** which,emerging topics are introduced such as non-Hermitian criticality,dynamical NHSE phenomena,and the manifestation of NHSE beyond the traditional linear non-interacting crystal lattices,particularly its interplay with quantum many-body ***,we survey the recent demonstrations and experimental proposals of NHSE.

Non-Hermitian models with real eigenenergies are highly desirable for their ***,most of the currently known ones are constrained by symmetries such as PT-symmetry,which is incompatible with realizing some of the most exotic non-Hermitian *** this work,we investigate how the non-Hermitian skin effect provides an alternative route towards enforcing real spectra and system *** showcase,for different classes of energy dispersions,various ansatz models that possess large parameter space regions with real spectra,despite not having any obvious *** minimal local models can be quickly implemented in non-reciprocal experimental setups such as electrical circuits with operational amplifiers.

The notion of a band gap is ubiquitous in the characterization of *** interesting are pseudo-gaps,which are enigmatic regions of very low density of states that have been linked to novel phenomena like high temperature *** this work,we discover a novel origin for pseudo-gaps when boundaries are introduced in a non-Hermitian *** generically occurs due to the interference between two or more asymmetric pumping channels,and possess no analog in Hermitian ***,it can be visualized as being created by divergences of spectral flow in the complex energy plane,analogous to how sharp edges creates divergent electric fields near an electrical conductor.A non-Hermitian pseudo-gap can host symmetry-protected mid-gap modes like ordinary topological gaps,but the mid-gap modes are extended instead of edge-localized,and exhibit extreme sensitivity to symmetry-breaking ***,pseudo-gaps can also host an integer number of edge modes even though the pseudo-bands possess fractional topological windings,or even no well-defined Chern number at all,in the marginal case of a phase transition *** conventional notions of topological bulk-boundary correspondences and even the very concept of a band,pseudo-gaps post profound implications that extend to many-body settings,such as fractional Chern insulators.

Advanced machine learning(ML)approaches such as transfer learning have seldom been applied to approximate quantum many-body *** we demonstrate that a simple recurrent unit(SRU)based efficient and transferable sequence learning framework is capable of learning and accurately predicting the time evolution of the one-dimensional(ID)Ising model with simultaneous transverse and parallel magnetic fields,as quantitatively corroborated by relative entropy measurements between the predicted and exact state *** a cost of constant computational complexity,a larger many-body state evolution is predicted in an autoregressive way from just one initial state,without any guidance or knowledge of any *** work paves the way for future applications of advanced ML methods in quantum many-body dynamics with knowledge only from a smaller system.

Non-hermiticity presents a vast newly opened territory that harbors new physics and applications such as lasing and ***,only non-Hermitian systems with real eigenenergies are stable,and great efforts have been devoted in designing them through enforcing parity-time(PT)*** this work,we exploit a lesser-known dynamical mechanism for enforcing real-spectra,and develop a comprehensive and versatile approach for designing new classes of parent Hamiltonians with real *** design approach is based on a new electrostatics analogy for modifed non-Hermitian bulk-boundary correspondence,where electrostatic charge corresponds to density of states and electric felds correspond to complex spectral *** such,Hamiltonians of any desired spectra and state localization profle can be reverse-engineered,particularly those without any guiding symmetry *** recasting the diagonalization of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians as a Poisson boundary value problem,our electrostatics analogy also transcends the gain/loss-induced compounding of foating-point errors in traditional numerical methods,thereby allowing access to far larger system sizes.

Positive-sense RNA viruses modify intracellular calcium stores,endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus(Golgi)to generate membranous replication organelles known as viral *** factories provide a conducive and substantial enclave for essential virus replication via concentrating necessary cellular factors and viral proteins in ***,we identified the vital role of a broadspectrum antiviral,peruvoside in limiting the formation of viral ***,we revealed the pleiotropic cellular effect of Src and PLC kinase signaling via cyclin-dependent kinase 1 signaling leads to Golgi-specific brefeldin A-resistance guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1(GBF1)phosphorylation and Golgi vesiculation by peruvoside *** ramification of GBF1 phosphorylation fosters GBF1 deprivation consequentially activating downstream antiviral signaling by dampening viral factories *** investigation showed signaling of ERK1/2 pathway via cyclin-dependent kinase 1 activation leading to GBF1 phosphorylation at Threonine 1337(T1337).We also showed 100%of protection in peruvoside-treated mouse model with a significant reduction in viral titre and without measurable cytotoxicity in *** findings highlight the importance of dissecting the broad-spectrum antiviral therapeutics mechanism and pave the way for consideration of peruvoside,host-directed antivirals for positive-sense RNA virus-mediated disease,in the interim where no vaccine is available.

This study utilizes fuzzy analytic hierarchy process （FAHP） to analyze decision-making pattems with regard to third-generation wireless communications （3GWC） service adoption, and to provide customized strategic recommendations to suppliers of 3GWC services regarding marketing and resource allocation in the context of the Chinese 3GWC market. First of all, a three-layer hierarchy of 3GWC adoption factors is developed by referring to the relevant literature and industry reports. A questionnaire of pairwise comparisons in the fuzzy AHP format is then designed and distributed to experts familiar with the handset market in Shanghai, China. These surveys are then analyzed using fuzzy AHP to establish an understanding of the weights and impacts of the various factors. The results show that the four most important factors for the adoption of 3GWC systems are：（i） handset price and voice and data-transmission fees; （ii） handset aesthetics; （iii） personalization; and （iv） network coverage. These findings suggest that providers of such services should customize and diversify the content/applications they offer and ensure the speed and reliability of network access. In addition, handset designs should be in accordance with consumer demands. If these steps can be achieved, then consumers will adopt 3GWC services more rapidly.

Disinfection by-products(DBPs)in water systems have attracted increasing attention due to their toxic *** of precursors(mainly natural organic matter(NOM))prior to the disinfection process has been recognized as the ideal strategy to control the DBP ***,biological activated carbon(BAC)process is a highly recommended and prevalent process for treatment of DBP precursors in advanced water *** paper first introduces the fundamental knowledge of BAC process,including the history,basic principles,typical process flow,and basic operational ***,the selection of BAC process for treatment of DBP precursors is explained in detail based on the comparative analysis of dominant water treatment technologies from the aspects of mechanisms for NOM removal as well as the treatability of different groups of DBP ***,a thorough overview is presented to summarize the recent developments and breakthroughs in the removal of DBP precursors using BAC process,and the contents involved include effect of pre-BAC ozonation,removal performance of various DBP precursors,toxicity risk reduction,fractional analysis of NOM,effect of empty bed contact time(EBCT)and engineered ***,some recommendations are made to strengthen current research and address the knowledge gaps,including the issues of microbial mechanisms,toxicity evaluation,degradation kinetics and microbial products.
