＜正＞ A novel technique combining electrophoretic deposition （EPD） and reaction bonding process （RBP） is developed to fabricate nano-structural ceramic composite coatings. Mixed organic solvents are used here to make suspension containing yttria partially stablised zirconia （PSZ） and aluminium （Al）. The results show that densely packed green form coatings which are nano-sized and uniform are deposited using a mixture of ethanol and acetylacetone as suspension medium and ball milling for 48 hours. On subsequent heat treatment, melting and oxidation of aluminium in the green forms promote densification during sintering. By these means, relatively dense nano-structural composite coatings have been fabricated on metal substrate.

＜正＞ engineering ceramics have a high application potential for wear-protection of different equipment used for electric power generating, mining and mineral industries. The ZTA （zirconia toughened alumina） and alumina （92%, 95%） have been prepared. Effects of varying the impact velocity and volume content of erodent particle and erosive time are investigated. Scanning electron microscopic examination of the eroded ceramic surfaces provides insights into the erosive wear mechanisms. The material removal processes include chipping out of lateral cracks caused by impact of the erodent particles, grain boundary cracking and grain pull out, as well as plastic deformation caused by the repeated sliding and impact of the particles.

＜正＞The 2D axisymmetric turbulent mist flow and conjugate heat transfer in a concentric tube with a peripherally-mounted jet nozzle and a moving hot inner rod are investigated numerically. The k-εtwo-equation model with low-Reynolds-number modification was adopted for closure. Turbulent thermal field was modeled by Reynolds analogy of heat transfer to momentum transfer. The parametric studies show that the characteristics of turbulent mist flows and conjugate heat transfer are very sensitive to the variation of flow rate, rod speed and water-vapor concentration. The largest temperature gradient occurs in the position where the stronger clockwise-separating bubble is close to and cooling jet could impinge with the rod surface. It is found that with an increase in rod speed or water vapor concentration, temperature profiles along radial direction at outlet of both rod and fluid are increased, while an increase of the mixed fluid flux results in decrease of the temperature profiles.
