Preparation of giant unilamellar CdTe quantum dot vesicles and their metabolic pathway in vivo

Glutathione (GSH) capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs) with photoluminescence quantum yields of 61% and the maximum emitting at 601.2 nm were prepared in water *** unilamellar CdTe quantum dot vesicles (GUVs-CdTe),with diameters larger than 1.5 μm,were obtained using lower-pressure evaporation techniques with soybean *** with other QD liposomes,the entrapment efficiency of GUVs-CdTe for QDs has been significantly improved to 86.3%.After GUVs-CdTe were injected into mice through the tail vein,the fluorescence microscopy of tissue sections showed that GUVs-CdTe could not pass through the blood-brain barrier and air-blood barrier,which were removed mostly by the reticuloendothelial system and were widely distributed in the spleen and the *** behavior is the same as the character of the metabolic pathway of giant unilamellar vesicles by intravenous injections in mice.

The expression of bcl-2 and p53 proteins was assessed in 50 canine mammary tumors and 4 normal mammary tissues using an immunohistochemical *** showed that fifty-two percent(28/54) of the canine mammary tissues were bcl-2 protein *** positive rate of bcl -2 protein in lymph node involvement cases was lower(1/6) than the cases without lymph node involvement (26/44,P0.05).When combined bcl-2 with p53 status was analyzed,a group with bcl-2(+) and p53(-) had the best *** of both bcl-2 and p53 status may be valuable in predicting the prognosis of patients.

Three hundred and eighty 1-day-old Arbor Acres commercial broilers were divided ran-domly into control（A）and experimental （B,C,D,and E）groups. All broilers were fed a standard dietand brooded at Standard temperatures until they reached 14 days of age. Thereafter, the experimentalgroups were subjected to a cool temperature challenge by gradually lowering the temperure 1-2℃ perday down to 12℃,and then maintining this temperature until 7 weeks of age. At the same time,l.5mg/kg 3,3,5-triiodothyronine（T）was added to the diet of groups D and E, and 500 mg/kg ascorbic acid（Vitamin C）was added to the diet of groups C and E. The incidence of pulmonary hypertension. syn-drome（PHS）,body weight gain and feed intake were measured weekly Lung and blood samples were col-lected weekly from 10 birds per group begining on day 14, and the percentage of thick - walled periph-eral lung vessels（%TWPV）and packed cell volume（PCV）were determined. The results indicate that thelower ambient temperature and diets supplemented with T increased the PHS incidence, PCV, and %TW-PV （P0.05 ）.It is concluded that vita-min C educed the incidence of PHS and the associated muscularization of pulmonary arterioles induced byexposing broilers to cool environmental tempeatures and feeding them T.

Disease outbreaks characterized by spleen necrosis of 5- to 20-day-old Pekin ducklings were observed in china since *** mortality ranged from 10 to 15%in the infected flocks showing no specific clinical *** investigation resulted in the isolation of a duck reovirus(DRV) strain designated HC from the spleen tissue sample by inoculation into duck *** virions were nonenveloped, icosahedral with a mean diameter of about 72 nm in the ultra-sections of infected duck firbroblast cells by electron microscopic ***-gel precipitating test showed that the virus shared common group-specific antigen with chicken reovirus S1133,but the serum against S1133 could not protect the cytopathic effect caused by the HC *** analysis of nucleotide sequences in theσA andσNS encoding regions indicated that HC isolate was closely related to Muscovy duck *** experimental infections,marked spleen necrosis identical to the clinical cases was reproduced in 1-day-old and 8-day-old ducklings by subcutaneous inoculation although no death was *** importantly,infection of the 1-day-old SPF chicks with the HC isolate caused 100%death with necrotic foci in liver and *** is the first time to report the isolation of a duck reovirus with significant pathogenicity to both Pekin ducklings and *** also raises the question of cross-species infection of duck reovirus and the potential threat to other poultry.

Background The aim of this study was to identify differentially-expressed genes(DEGs)in the growth plate of broiler chickens associated with tibial dyschondroplasia(TD)induced by *** was extracted from the growth plates of chickens that consumed control or thiram diets for 1,2,and 6 *** RNA were analyzed using eighteen chicken Affymetrix GeneChip assays to identify *** identified DEGs were also verified by real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). Results The microanalyses identified 880 DEGs,with 108,385,and 468 DEGs exhibiting at least 1.5-fold changes at days 1,2,and 6,*** representative DEGs were further verified by real-time RT-PCR and confirmed to be upregulated in TD chickens,including lysyl oxidase(lox),heat shock protein 25(hsp25),inhibitor of DNA binding 1(id-1),kinectin 1(knt1),secreted frizzled-related protein 4(sfrp4),cadherin 1(cdh1),and enolase 2(eno2).Conclusion Our findings provide a reliable bioinformatics basis for better understanding the molecular pathogenesis of TD.

Isolation and identification of a specific cDNA mapping to the BamHI I2 and L fragments from the inverted repeats of unique long region(IRL) in the genome of Marek′s disease herpesvirus (MDV) oncogenic strain Beijing 1 had been previously performed by us. In this study, the specific cDNA was cloned into phagemid vectors PUC118 and 119 on the basis of prefabricated two recognized sites in synthesized primers. Recombinants were further identified with restriction pattern, molecular hybridization, and DNA sequencing analysis. It was demonstrated that this cDNA with 720 base pair (bp) contained sequences including a potentially incomplete open reading frame (ORF) encoded a 238 amino acids (aa) predicted polypeptide which was significantly homologous not only to part of N terminus of meq, but also to that of XbaI ClaI subfragment of BamHI L. In accordance with these data, following results could be deduced:①the 720 bp cDNA represented a spliced transcript;②meq transcription could be extended from the right hand end of BamHI I2 to the adjacent BamHI L fragment;③the L region was transcribed in varying degrees\ in MDV induced lymphoblastoid tumors.
