Recently, motivated by the pioneer work in revealing the small-world effect and scale-free property of various real-life networks, many scientists devote themselves to studying complex networks. One of the ultimate goals is to understand how the topological structures affect the dynamics upon networks. In this paper, we give a brief review on the studies of epidemic dynamics on complex networks, including the description of classical epidemic models, the epidemic spread on small-world and scale-free networks, and network immunization. Finally, perspectives and some interesting problems are proposed.

The pore structural characteristics have been the key to the studies on the mechanisms of fluids flow in porous media. With the development of experimental technology, the modern high-resolution equipments are capable of capturing pore structure images with a resolution of microns. But so far only 3D volume data of millimeter-scale rock samples can be obtained losslessly. It is necessary to explore the way of virtually reconstructing larger volume digital samples of porous media with the representative structural characteristics of the pore space. This paper proposes a reconstruction method of porous media using the structural characteristics captured by the data templates of multiple-point geostatistics. In this method, the probability of each structural characteristic of a pore space is acquired first, and then these characteristics are reproduced according to the probabilities to present the real structural characteristics in the reconstructed images. Our experimental results have shown that: (i) the deviation of LBM computed permeability respectively on the virtually reconstructed sandstone and the original sample is less than 1.2%; (ii) the reconstructed sandstone and the original sample have similar structural characteristics demonstrated by the variogram curves.

The (U + K)-orbit of a bounded linear operator T acting on a Hilbert space H is defined as (U + K)(T)={R-1 T R:R is invertible of the form unitary plus compact on H}.In this paper,we first characterize the closure of the (U + K)-orbit of an essentially normal triangular operator T satisfying H={ker(T-λI):λ∈ρ F (T)} and σ p (T*)=ф.After that,we establish certain essentially normal triangular operator models with the form of the direct sums of triangular operators,adjoint of triangular operators and normal operators,show that such operator models generate the same closed (U + K)-orbit if they have the same spectral picture,and describe the closures of the (U + K)-orbits of these operator *** generalize some known results on the closures of (U + K)-orbits of essentially normal operators,and provide more positive cases to an open conjecture raised by Marcoux as Question 2 in his article "A survey of (U + K)-orbits".

The authors obtain the growth and covering theorem for the class of normalized biholomorphic starlike mappings on bounded starlike circular *** type of domain discussed is rather general, since the domain must be starlike if there exists a normalized biholomorphic starlike mapping on it. In the unit disc, it is just the famous growth and covering theorem for univalent *** theorem successfully realizes the initial idea of H. Cartan about how to extend geometric function theory from one variable to several complex variables.

Interaction mechanisms of organic contaminants with burned straw ash charcoal

Black carbons （e.g., charcoal） have a great impact on the transport of organic contaminants in soil and water because of its strong affinity and ubiquity in the environment. To further elucidate their interaction mechanism, sorption of polar （p-nitrotoluene, m-dinitrobenzene and nitrobenzene） and nonpolar （naphthalene） aromatic contaminants to burned straw ash charcoal under different de-ashed treatments were investigated. The sorption isotherms fitted well with Freundlich equation, and the Freundlich N values were all around 0.31-0.38, being independent of the sorbate properties and sorbent types. After sequential removal of ashes by acid treatments （HCl and HCl-HF）, both adsorption and partition were enhanced due to the enrichment of charcoal component. The separated contribution of adsorption and partition to total sorption were quantified. The effective carbon content in ash charcoal functioned as adsorption sites, partition phases, and hybrid regions with adsorption and partition were conceptualized and calculated. The hybrid regions increased obviously after de-ashed treatment. The linear relationships of Freundlich N values with the charring-temperature of charcoal or biochar （the charred byproduct in biomass pyrolysis） were observed based on the current study and the cited publications which included 15 different temperatures （100-850℃）, 10 kinds of precursors of charcoal/biochar, and 10 organic sorbates.
