Congestive ischemic colitis successfully treated with antiinflammatory therapy: A case report

＜正＞T-DNA tagging lines in rice, 1C-12812 （Oriza sativa cv. Hwayoung） and 3A-10591 （Oriza sativa cv. Dongjin） in which T-DNA was inserted into the 9th exon （Chr 3） and 4th intron （Chr 10） of OsAlaAT, respectively were isolated from T-DNA mutagenized populations. Two homozygote mutants were selected by genotyping with AlaAT1 and AlaAT-specific primers. In case of seed length and growth of the mutant, 1C-12812 and 3A-10591 showed smaller and weaker phenotypes than wild type. The photosynthetic activities （Fv/Fm and qQ） of 3A-10591 were decreased than control under salt stress （NaCl 300mM, 24h treatment）. However, PSⅡ activity of 1C-12812 was not decreased in comparison with 3A-10591. The mRNA levels of cytosolic ascrobate peroxidase （cAPX） and peroxidase Ⅱ（POX Ⅱ） in the leaves of 1C-12812 were determined by RT-PCR under different salt concentrations. mRNA levels of cAPX were increased against salt treatment in both control and mutant rice. However, mRNA level of POX Ⅱ was decreased dramatically and the total POX activity was also decreased under salt stress （NaCl 300mM, 24h treatment） in the leaves of 1C-12812. These results indicate that the loss of AlaAT activity may affect the photosynthetic activities related to photorespiration and the activities/synthesis of antioxidant enzymes, especially POX Ⅱ.

The Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with Chemistry(WRF-Chem),a type of online coupled chemistry-meteorology model(CCMM),considers the interaction between air quality and meteorology to improve air quality *** data assimilation(DA)can be used to reduce uncertainty in meteorological field,which is one factor causing prediction uncertainty in the *** this study,WRF-Chem and three-dimensional variational DA were used to examine the impact of meteorological DA on air quality and meteorological forecasts over the Korean *** nesting model domains were configured over East Asia(outer domain)and the Korean Peninsula(inner domain).Three experiments were conducted by using different DA domains to determine the optimal model domain for the meteorological *** the meteorological DA was performed in the outer domain or both the outer and inner domains,the root-mean-square error(RMSE),bias of the predicted particulate matter(PM)concentrations,and the RMSE of predicted meteorological variables against the observations were smaller than those in the experiment where the meteorological DA was performed only in the inner *** indicates that the improvement of the synoptic meteorological fields by DA in the outer domain enhanced the meteorological initial and boundary conditions for the inner domain,subsequently improving air quality and meteorological *** to the experiment without meteorological DA,the RMSE and bias of the meteorological and PM variables were smaller in the experiments with *** effect of meteorological DA on the improvement of PM predictions lasted for approximately 58-66 h,depending on the ***,the uncertainty reduction in the meteorological initial condition by the meteorological DA contributed to a reduction of the forecast errors of both meteorology and air quality.

In the wake of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence(AI), we stand on the brink of a transformative leap in data systems. The imminent fusion of AI and DB(AI×DB) promises a new generation of data systems, which will relieve the burden on end-users across all industry sectors by featuring AI-enhanced functionalities, such as personalized and automated in-database AI-powered analytics, and selfdriving capabilities for improved system performance. In this paper, we explore the evolution of data systems with a focus on deepening the fusion of AI and DB. We present NeurDB, an AI-powered autonomous data system designed to fully embrace AI design in each major system component and provide in-database AI-powered analytics. We outline the conceptual and architectural overview of NeurDB, discuss its design choices and key components, and report its current development and future plan.

As the size of satellites scales down, low-power and compact propulsion systems such as the pulsed plasma thruster(PPT) are needed for stabilizing these miniature satellites in orbit. Most PPT systems are operated at 2 J or more of discharge energy. In this work, the performance of a PPT with a side-fed, tongue-flared electrode configuration operated within a lower discharge energy range of 0.5-2.5 J has been investigated. Ablation and charring of the polytetrafluoroethylene propellant surface were analyzed through field-effect scanning electron microscopy imaging and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. When the discharge energy fell below 2 J, inconsistencies occurred in the specific impulse and the thrust efficiency due to the measurement of the low mass bit. At energy ≥2 J, the performance parameters are compared with other PPT systems of similar configuration and discussed in depth.
