BACKGROUND Chondrosarcoma,a cartilage matrix producing tumor,is the second most commonly observed primary bone tumor after osteosarcoma,accounting for 15%of all chest wall *** herein report the case of a patient with chondrosarcoma of the sternum and our management of the chest wall defects that presented following radical tumor *** SUMMARY A 31-year-old patient presented to our hospital with dull pain and a protruding mass overlying the chest for 3 *** presence of nocturnal pain and mass size progression was reported,as were overhead arm elevation-related *** tomography showed a focal osteoblastic mass in the sternum with bony exostosis and adjacent soft tissue *** emission tomography-computed tomography revealed hypermetabolic activity with a mass located over the upper *** resonance imaging showed a focal illdefined bony mass of the sternum with cortical destruction and periosteal *** biopsy showed a consistent result with chondrosarcoma with immunohistochemical positivity for S100 and focal positivity for *** grade II chondrosarcoma diagnosis was confirmed by postoperative *** patient underwent radical tumor resection and chest wall reconstruction with a locking plate and cement *** patient was discharged 1 wk after surgery without any *** the 1-year follow-up,there was no local recurrence on *** functional scores,including Constant Score,Nottingham Clavicle Score,and Oxford Shoulder Score,showed the absence of pain in the performance of daily activities or substantial functional *** The diagnosis of chondrosarcoma must be considered when chest wall tumors are *** surgical reconstructive materials,with a locking plate and cement spacer,used in our study are cost-effective and readily-available for the sternum defect.

Exposure to maternal stress during prenatal life is associated with an increased risk of neuropsychiatric disorders, such as depression and anxiety, in offspring. It has also been increasingly observed that prenatal stress alters the phenotype of offspring via immunological mechanisms and that immunological dysfunction, such as elevated interleukin-18 levels, has been reported in cultures of microglia. Prenatal restraint stress(PRS) in rats permits direct experimental investigation of the link between prenatal stress and adverse outcomes. However, the majority of studies have focused on the consequences of PRS delivered in the second half of pregnancy, while the effects of early prenatal stress have rarely been examined. Therefore, pregnant rats were subjected to PRS during early/middle and late gestation(days 8–14 and 15–21, respectively). PRS comprised restraint in a round plastic transparent cylinder under bright light(6500 lx) three times per day for 45 minutes. Differences in interleukin-18 expression in the hippocampus and in behavior were compared between offspring rats and control rats on postnatal day 75. We found that adult male offspring exposed to PRS during their late prenatal periods had higher levels of anxiety-related behavior and depression than control rats, and both male and female offspring exhibited higher levels of depression-related behavior, impaired recognition memory and diminished exploration of novel objects. Moreover, an elevated level of interleukin-18 was observed in the dorsal and ventral hippocampus of male and female early-and late-PRS offspring rats. The results indicate that PRS can cause anxiety and depression-related behaviors in adult offspring and affect the expression of interleukin-18 in the hippocampus. Thus, behavior and the molecular biology of the brain are affected by the timing of PRS exposure and the sex of the offspring. Serum lipid profiles are associated with semen quality

We aimed to explore the associations between different lipid profiles and semen quality in a large-scale general male population. Sperm concentration, total sperm motility, progressive motility, and normal sperm morphology of total 7601 participants were recorded. The association of these semen parameters with the triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein, and very low-density lipoprotein of serum lipid profiles was analyzed. Sperm concentration was statistically positively correlated with triglyceride and very low-density lipoprotein （adjusted P= 0.001 and P= 0.005, respectively）. Total sperm motility and progressive motility were statistically increased with increasing low-density lipoprotein and cholesterol levels （both adjusted P = 0.008 and P 〈 0.001, respectively）. The similar J-shaped associations （high-low-low-high） were noted between individual lipid profile and normal sperm morphology, especially low-density lipoprotein and cholesterol with statistical significance （adjusted P = 0.017 and P= 0.021, respectively）. The prevalence of abnormal total sperm motility and progressive motility was decreased in participants with high levels of cholesterol （P = 0.008 and P = 0.019, respectively）, and the reverse J-shaped associations （low-high-high-low） were noted between high-density lipoprotein, triglyceride, very low-density lipoprotein, and the prevalence of abnormal normal sperm morphology （P = 0.010, P = 0.037, and P = 0.025, respectively）. A high cholesterol level was associated with better sperm motility. Similar J-shaped associations were noted between all lipid profiles and normal sperm morphology; meanwhile, the reverse J-shaped trends were identified between them and abnormal normal sperm morphology prevalence.

利用南海北部的浮标、石油平台观测的海面风资料,分析了0~200km范围内,不同离岸距离站点的风速的概率分布特征。观测结果指出,各站平均风速一般最大值出现在冬季,最小值出现在夏季,具有明显的季节变化特征,并且平均风速随着离岸距离的增大也逐渐增大。对于离岸距离较近的区域(100km以内),海面风基本符合双参数的Weibull分布,但对于100km以外的海面风速概率分布与Weibull分布存在明显差异,随着离岸距离的增大,平均风速和风速标准偏差也相应增大。风速平均值与风速标准偏差的比值较小时,Weibull分布的偏斜度基本为正值,当比值较大时偏斜度转为负值。随着离岸距离的增大,出现与Weibull分布不一致的情况越来越多,且与对应的Weibull分布相比,其偏斜度越小,风速概率分布越不能用Weibull分布进行较好拟合。

Optical cross-talk reduction in a quantumdot-based full-color micro-light-emitting-diode display by a lithographic-fabricated photoresist mold

In this study, a full-color emission red–green–blue(RGB) quantum-dot(QD)-based micro-light-emitting-diode(micro-LED) array with the reduced optical cross-talk effect by a photoresist mold has been demonstrated. The UV micro-LED array is used as an efficient excitation source for the QDs. The aerosol jet technique provides a narrow linewidth on the micrometer scale for a precise jet of QDs on the micro-LEDs. To reduce the optical cross-talk effect,a simple lithography method and photoresist are used to fabricate the mold, which consists of a window for QD jetting and a blocking wall for cross-talk reduction. The cross-talk effect of the well-confined QDs in the window is confirmed by a fluorescence microscope, which shows clear separation between QD pixels. A distributed Bragg reflector is covered on the micro-LED array and the QDs' jetted mold to further increase the reuse of UV *** enhanced light emission of the QDs is 5%, 32%, and 23% for blue, green, and red QDs, respectively.
