Autologous mobilized peripheral blood CD34^+ cell infusion in non-viral decompensated liver cirrhosis

AIM: To study the effect of mobilized peripheral blood autologous CD34 positive(CD34+) cell infusion in patients with non-viral decompensated ***: Cirrhotic patients of non-viral etiology were divided into 2 groups based on their willingness to be listed for deceased donor liver transplant(DDLT)(control, n = 23) or to receive autologous CD34+ cell infusion through the hepatic artery(study group, n= 22). Patients in the study group were admitted to hospital and received granulocyte colony stimulating factor injections 520 μg/d for 3 consecutive days to mobilize CD34+ cells from the bone marrow. On day 4,leukapheresis was done and CD34+ cells were isolated using CliniMAC magnetic cell sorter. The isolated CD34+ cells were infused into the hepatic artery under radiological guidance. The patients were discharged within 48 h. The control group received standard of care treatment for liver cirrhosis and were worked up for DDLT as per protocol of the institute. Both groups were followed up every week for 4 wk and then every month for 3 ***: In the control and the study group, the cause of cirrhosis was cryptogenic in 18(78.2%) and16(72.72%) and alcohol related in 5(21.7%) and6(27.27%), respectively. The mean day 3 cell count(cells/μL) was 27.00 ± 20.43 with a viability of 81.84± 11.99%. and purity of 80%-90%. Primary end point analysis revealed that at 4 wk, the mean serum albumin in the study group increased significantly(2.83± 0.36 vs 2.43 ± 0.42, P = 0.001) when compared with controls. This improvement in albumin was,however, not sustained at 3 mo. However, at the end of3 mo there was a statistically significant improvement in serum creatinine in the study group(0.96 ± 0.33 vs 1.42 ± 0.70, P = 0.01) which translated into a significant improvement in the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease score(15.75 ± 5.13 vs 19.94 ± 6.68,P = 0.04). A recent case report provided a patient scenario,wherein,a 39-year-old male patient presented with occasional palpitations,headache,and *** of tumor markers did not show any abnormal ***,a computed tomography(CT)scan was undertaken,and its findings were affirmative of thymic ***,the postoperative histopathological assessment of the mass,after its resection,confirmed it as an anterior mediastinal multilocular thymic cyst(MTC),with concurrent acute upper respiratory tract infection and acute ***,this case report advocates the need for a preoperative histopathological examination with CT imaging to minimize the risk of confusing an MTC with a malignant thymic tumor.

CompactChain:an efficient stateless chain for UTXO-model blockchain

In this work,we propose a stateless blockchain called CompactChain,which compacts the entire state of the UTXO(Unspent Transaction Output)based blockchain systems into two RSA *** first accumulator is called Transaction Output(TXO)commitment which represents the TXO *** second one is called Spent Transaction Output(STXO)commitment which represents the STXO *** this work,we discuss three algorithms:(i)To update the TXO and STXO commitments by the *** miner also provides the proofs for the correctness of the updated commitments;(ii)To prove the transaction’s validity by providing a membership witness in TXO commitment and non-membership witness against STXO commitment for a coin being spent by a user;(iii)To update the witness for the coin that is not yet spent;The experimental results evaluate the performance of the CompactChain in terms of time taken by a miner to update the commitments and time taken by a validator to verify the commitments and validate the *** compare the performance of CompactChain with the existing state-of-the-art works on stateless *** shows a reduction in commitments update complexity and transaction witness size which inturn reduces the mempool size and propagation latency without compromising the system throughput(Transactions per second(TPS)).

Substrate Temperature Dependent Properties of Cu Doped NiO Films Deposited by DC Reactive Magnetron Sputtering

The NiO-Cu composite films were deposited on a glass substrate at various substrate temperatures by DC reactive magnetron sputtering technique. The effect of substrate temperature on the structural, optical, morphological and electrical properties of the films was mainly investigated. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that when the substrate temperature increased to above 200 ℃, the preferred orientation tended to move to another preferred site from （220） to （111） and had a band gap values increased with increasing substrate observed that the grain size and root mean square stable cubic structure. The optical transmittance and temperature. From the morphological studies, it was roughness were increased with increasing substrate temperature. The electrical resistivity of the film decreased to 0.017 Ωcm at high substrate temperature of 400 ℃.

The microwave synthesis of MnC204.2H2O nanoparticles was performed through the thermal double decomposition of oxalic acid dihydrate （C2H204.2H20） and Mn（OAc）2.4H2O solutions using a CATA-2R microwave reactor. Structural characterization was performed using X-ray diffraction （XRD）, particle size and shape were analyzed using transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The polycrystalline colossal magnetoresistive double-layered manganite samples R1.2Sr1.8Mn2O7（R = La Pr, Nd, Sm） were prepared by the sol–gel method and their room temperature elastic behavior was investigated by ultrasonic pulse transmission technique at 1 MHz. The values of elastic constants were calculated from longitudinal and shear velocities and they were corrected to zero porosity using Hasselman and Fulrath＇s formulae. The elastic constants of the samples were also estimated by Modi＇s heterogeneous metal-mixture rule which is based on the metal ions present in the samples. The measured,corrected, and estimated values of elastic moduli are found to increase with decreasing rare earth ion size. The variation of elastic moduli with the size of the rare earth ion is interpreted in terms of strength of interatomic bonding.

Synthesis and biological evaluation of some novel-3-(5-substituted benzimidazol-2-yl)-5-arylisoxazolines

The synthesis of a new series of 3-（5-substituted benzimidazol-2-yl）-5-arylisoxazolines （6a-h） was achieved in excellent yields by the condensation of 1-（1H-benzimidazol-2-yl）-3-（substituted phenyl）prop-2-en-l-ones （5a-h） with hydroxylamine at room temperature. These 1-（1H-benzimidazol-2-yl）-3-（subsfituted phenyl）prop-2-en-l-ones （Sa-h） were obtained by the condensation of 2-acetyl benzimidazoles （4a-d） with different aromatic aldehydes, which in turn were obtained by the oxidation of 2-（α- hydroxy）ethyl benzimidazoles （3a-d） prepared by the reaction of o-phenylenediamines （lad） with ot-hydroxy propiohic acid 2. The synthesized compounds were characterized by their IR, ^1H NMR and MS analyses. These compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity by standard methods and found some of them active.
