Improving tribological and thermal properties of Al alloy using CNTs and Nb nanopowder via SPS for power transmission conductor

This study aimed at improving the tribological and thermal properties of Al alloy using CNTs and Nb nanopowder as reinforcements and spark plasma sintering(SPS)as the fabrication *** SPS was conducted at 630℃,30 MPa,10 min,and 200℃/*** tribology test was run with ball-on-disc tribometer using steel ball as the counter *** the thermal test was processed with thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA)and laser flash apparatus(LFA).Results showed that the addition of 8 wt.%CNTs and 8 wt.%Nb reinforcements respectively decreased the coefficient of friction(CoF)of the composite by 79%.The wear volume of the composite was decreased by 23%,and so was the wear ***,the thermal conductivity of the composite was equally improved by 44%.The tribology improvement was stimulated by a C film generated by CNTs and a protective Nb2o5 formed by Nb *** thermal conductivity was improved by the grain refining property of Nb and the high thermal conductivity of ***,these results indicated that Al-CNTs-Nb composite is a robust material for high transmission conductor capable of reducing sag and ensuring the durability of the composite.

Dynamic stress concentration in an infinitely long cylindrical cavity due to a point spherical source embedded within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

Antimotility effects of extracts and fractions of Eastern Nigeria mistletoe(Loranthus micranthus Linn)

objective:To evaluate the antimotility activity of Eastern Nigerian mistletoe[Loranthus micranthus（***） Linn]parasitic on six different host trees *** nitida,Persia americana,Kola accuminata,Irvingia gabonensis,Citrus simensis and Pentacletra macrophylla （***）.Methods:The antimotility of the methanol extracts and solvent fractions were evaluated in castor oil induced diarrheoa in ***:The methanol extracts（200 mg/kg, i.p.） inhibited defeacation significantly（P on（75.73%to 93.33%） more than that of atropine sulphate（2 mg/kg,i.p.） which inhibited defeacation by 80.0%.The methanol extract（200 mg/kg,i.p.） of L micranthus parasitic on *** exhibited significant（Pon in gastrointestinal transit（67.6%） more than that of atropine sulphate（2 mg/kg,Lp.） which inhibited gastrointestinal transit by 26.4%.The solvent fractions of L micranthus parasitic on *** at dose levels of 150 mg/kg inhibited significantly the gastrointestinal transit of *** F5 exhibited inhibitory activity which was comparable to loperamide（73.3%）. Conclusions:The methanol extract of L micranthus parasitic on *** exhibits higher antimotility activity that other *** solvent fractions could serve as source of novel antimotility agents.

Cells,tissues,and organs are constantly subjected to the action of mechanical forces from the extracellular environment-and the nervous system is no ***-intrinsic properties such as membrane lipid composition,abundance of mechanosensors,and cytoskeletal dynamics make cells more or less likely to sense these *** and extrinsic cues are integrated by cells and this combined information determines the rate and dynamics of membrane protrusion growth or retraction(Yamada and Sixt,2019).Cell protrusions are extensions of the plasma membrane that play crucial roles in diverse contexts such as cell migration and neuronal synapse *** the nervous system,neurons are highly dynamic cells that can change the size and number of their pre-and postsynaptic elements(called synaptic boutons and dendritic spines,respectively),in response to changes in the levels of synaptic activity through a process called *** plasticity is a hallmark of the nervous system and is present throughout our lives,being required for functions like memory formation or the learning of new motor skills(Minegishi et al.,2023;Pillai and Franze,2024).

on the Lorentz factor of superluminal sources

We investigate the properties of features seen within superluminal sources often referred to as components. our result indicates a fairly strong correlation of r ～ 0.5 for quasars, r ～ 0.4 for galaxies and r ～ 0.7 for BL Lac objects in our sam- ple between component sizes and distances from the stationary core. The assumption of free adiabatic expanding plasma enables us to constrain the Lorentz factor for su- perluminal sources. our estimated Lorentz factor of y ～ 9-13 for quasars, 7 ～ 7-11 for galaxies and y～ 4 - 9 for BL Lac objects indicates that BL Lacs have the lowest range of Lorentz factors.

Endoplasmic reticulum stress,autophagy,neuroinflammation,and sigma 1 receptors as contributors to depression and its treatment

The etiological factors contributing to depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders are largely undefined. Endoplasmic reticulum stress pathways and autophagy are well-defined mechanisms that play critical functions in recognizing and resolving cellular stress and are possible targets for the pathophysiology and treatment of psychiatric and neurologic illnesses. An increasing number of studies indicate the involvement of endoplasmic reticulum stress and autophagy in the control of neuroinflammation, a contributing factor to multiple neuropsychiatric illnesses. Initial inflammatory triggers induce endoplasmic reticulum stress, leading to neuroinflammatory responses. Subsequently, induction of autophagy by neurosteroids and other signaling pathways that converge on autophagy induction are thought to participate in resolving neuroinflammation. The aim of this review is to summarize our current understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing the induction of endoplasmic reticulum stress, autophagy, and neuroinflammation in the central nervous system. Studies focused on innate immune factors, including neurosteroids with anti-inflammatory roles will be reviewed. In the context of depression, animal models that led to our current understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying depression will be highlighted, including the roles of sigma 1 receptors and pharmacological agents that dampen endoplasmic reticulum stress and associated neuroinflammation.

Correlation and path coefficient analyses of yield and yield components of eggplant (Solanum melongena) in a coarse-textured Ultisol

Assessment of variability and understanding of traits relationship in eggplant species are vital pre-requisite for formulating an effective breeding *** studied 23 genotypes of eggplants in a coarse-textured Ultisol using a randomized complete block design experiment with three *** were collected on number of branches,number of leaves,number of nodes and internodes,stem diameter,plant height,floral and yield *** revealed significant(p=0.05)variation in the flowering and fruiting pattern of the genotypes.‘Yalo x K3BC2P10 gave the highest individual fruit weight of 80.8 *** fruit weight contributed the highest direct positive effect on the fruit *** acted majorly through plant height,number of branches,number of leaves and number of days to first fruit set as revealed in the path coefficient *** fruit weight,number of fruits per plant,plant height,number of days to 50%flowering,number of branches,numbers of days to first flowering and 50%fruit set had positive direct effect on *** traits should be considered in developing high yielding eggplant breeding programme.
