Enhanced piezoelectricity of Cu-doped K(ta,Nb)O_(3) single crystals

As a class of solid solution material,K(ta,Nb)O3(KTN)single crystals have attracted significant interest due to their excellent piezoelectric and electro-optic *** this study,the piezoelectric properties of KTN were improved through Cu *** the advantages of composition-regulating phase transition,a large,high-quality Cu:KTN crystal measuring 30 mm×25 mm×20 mm in size was grown using the improved top seeded solution growth ***-doped KTN exhibited better piezoelectric properties than pure KTN,and the full matrix parameters were *** dielectric,piezoelectric,and electromechanical coupling responses(ε^(T)_(11)-2,136,d_(33)∼303 pC/N,k_(t)∼0.515,and k33∼0.672)were successfully *** realize the optimized orientation of the piezoelectric properties,the orientation dependence of the single domain properties was investigated,and the mechanism of Cu doping to improve piezoelectric properties was *** found that 0.36%(in mass)Cu doped crystal consisted of A-site substitution,following ferroelectric and domain *** small ferroelectric domain sizes led to a large domain wall mobility rate and high domain wall density,which contributed to high piezoelectric *** work revealed the effect of A-position doping on piezoelectric properties and provided a theoretical and experimental foundation for the performance optimization of KTN-based materials.

Inactive elemental doping is commonly used to improve the structural stability of high-voltage layered transition-metal oxide ***,the one-step co-doping strategy usually results in small grain size since the low diffusivity ions such as Ti^(4+)will be concentrated on grain boundaries,which hinders the grain *** order to synthesize large single-crystal layered oxide cathodes,considering the different diffusivities of different dopant ions,we propose a simple two-step multi-element co-doping strategy to fabricate core–shell structured LiCoO_(2)(CS-LCO).In the current work,the high-diffusivity Al^(3+)/Mg^(2+)ions occupy the core of single-crystal grain while the low diffusivity Ti^(4+)ions enrich the shell *** Ti^(4+)-enriched shell layer(~12 nm)with Co/Ti substitution and stronger Ti–O bond gives rise to less oxygen ligand ***-situ XRD demonstrates the constrained contraction of c-axis lattice parameter and mitigated structural *** a high upper cut-off voltage of 4.6 V,the single-crystal CS-LCO maintains a reversible capacity of 159.8 mAh g^(−1)with a good retention of~89%after 300 cycles,and reaches a high specific capacity of 163.8 mAh g^(−1)at *** proposed strategy can be extended to other pairs of low-(Zr^(4+),ta^(5+),and W6+,etc.)and high-diffusivity cations(Zn^(2+),Ni^(2+),and Fe^(3+),etc.)for rational design of advanced layered oxide core–shell structured cathodes for lithium-ion batteries.

ta2NiSe5is a promising candidate for hosting an excitonic insulator （EI） phase,a novel electronic state driven by electron-hole Coulomb ***,the role of electron-lattice coupling in the formation of the EI phase remains ***,we use angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy （ARPES） to study the band structure evolution of ta2Ni(Se1-xSx)5with sulfur substitution and potassium deposition,which modulate the band gap and the carrier concentration,*** find that the ta 5d states originating from the bottom of the conduction band persist at the top of the valence band in the low-temperature monoclinic phase,indicating the importance of exciton condensation in opening the gap in the semi-metallic band *** also observe that the characteristic overlap between the conduction and valence bands can be restored in the monoclinic lattice by mild carrier injection,suggesting that the lattice distortion in the monoclinic phase is not the main factor for producing the insulating gap,but rather the exciton condensation in the electronic system is the dominant driving *** results shed light on the electron-lattice decoupling and the origin of the EI phase in ta2Ni(Se1-xSx)5.

Theoretical Exploration of Alloying Effects on Stabilities and Mechanical Properties ofγʹPhase in Novel Co–Al–Nb-Base Superalloys

The new developedγ/γʹCo–Al–Nb-base alloys show great potentials as high-temperature ***,finding appropriate compositions to improve performance of alloys still poses a great challenge to the development of Co–Al–Nb-base *** by the lack of alloying effects on fundamental properties of criticalγʹphase,we systematically performed a theoretical investigation on the effect of alloying elements TM(TM:Ti,V,Cr,Zr,Mo,ta,W,Re,and Ru)on phase stabilities and mechanical properties of L1_(2)-typeγʹ(Co,Ni)_(3)(Al,Nb).By analyzing the stability ofγʹphase with respect to its competitive B2 and D0_(19) phases,the results shown that Ti,V,and Cr enhance the L1_(2) stability and widen the L1_(2)–D0_(19) energy barrier,in which V yields the maximum *** analysis of electronic structure indicated that the alternation of valence electrons at fermi level would be the atomic origin for doping TM inγʹ*** calculated results of mechanical properties shown that V and Cr are expected to be optimal dopant for enhancing the strength and the ductility ofγʹ*** addition of ta is also beneficial for enhancing the strength at the slight expense of ductility ofγʹ*** drawing the mechanical maps,the preferred composition range for the phases with desired properties is roughly demarcated in theory for the multi-addition of V/Cr and V/ta inγʹ*** findings would be useful for optimizing the performance of novelγ/γʹCo–Al–Nb-base superalloys.

Small mutations in the core promoter region of a gene may result in substantial changes in expression ***,targeting ta-rich sequences of core promoters may pose a challenge for Cas9 variants such as SpCas9 and other G-rich PAM-compatible *** this study,we engineered a unique FrCas9 system derived from Faecalibaculum rodentium for plant genome *** findings indicate that this system is efficient in rice when the tata sequence is used as a *** addition,FrCas9 demonstrated activity against all 16 possible NNta PAMs,achieving an efficiency of up to 35.3%in calli and generating homozygous or biallelic mutations in 31.3%of the T_(0)transgenic plants.A proof-ofconcept experiment to examine editing of the rice WX core promoter confirmed that FrCas9-induced mutations could modify gene expression and amylose *** mutations and deletions were produced by bidirectional editing,mediated by FrCas9,using a single palindromic tata sequence as a ***,we developed FrCas9-derived base editors capable of programmable conversion between AT and GC pairs in *** study highlights a versatile FrCas9 toolset for plant core promoter editing,offering great potential for the fine-tuning of gene expression and creating of new germplasms.

Effective mineralization of biological structures poses a significant challenge in hard tissue engineering as it necessitates overcoming geometric complexities and multistep biomineralization *** this regard,we propose“mineral-in-shell nanoarchitectonics”,inspired by the nanostructure of matrix vesicles,which can influence multiple mineralization *** nanostructural design empowers mineral precursors with tailorable properties through encapsulating amorphous calcium phosphate within a multifunctional tannic acid(ta)and silk fibroin(SF)*** bioinspired nanosystem facilitates efficient recruitment of mineral precursors throughout the dentin structures,followed by large-scale intradentinal mineralization both in vitro and in vivo,which provides persistent protection against external *** simulations combined with experimental studies attribute the success of intradentinal mineralization to the ta-SF nanoshell,which exhibits a strong affinity for the dentin structure,stabilizing amorphous precursors and thereby facilitating concomitant mineral ***,this bioinspired mineral-in-shell nanoarchitectonics shows a promising prospect for hard tissue repair and serves as a blueprint for next-generation biomineralization-associated materials.

Determination of erodible particles on cultivated soils by wind tunnel simulation

The erodible particle size distribution, diameter range and separate content of three soils from semi-arid regions of China were determined at different wind velocities through wind tunnel simulation and dry sieving. It was demonstrated that soil erodibility by wind depends not only on the intrinsic soil properties, but also on the extrinsic erosion effect of the erosive winds. It was supposed that there existed general consistency in the mechanics of wind erosion on different soils.

Synthesis and Characterization of Model Complexes of Catechol Dioxygenases Supported by the Anionic Hydrotris-3,5-dimethyl-pyrazolylborate Ligand

An iron（Ⅲ） complex [Fe^Ⅲ（Tpz^Me2）（Hpz^Me2）Cl2]（1） has been synthesized at a low temperature, which contains tripodal ligand, namely, the anionic hydrotris-3,5-dimethyl-pyrazolylborate（Tpz^Me2）. A series of iron（Ⅲ） catecholate complexes 2-5 has been obtained via the reaction of compound 1 with catecholate or substituted catecholates. These complexes were characterized by X-ray crystallographic analysis, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis, and the results show that TpzMe2 ligand has the beneficial effect on the stabilization of iron（Ⅲ） catecholate complexes.

Ti-25ta alloy samples were fabricated by selective laser melting,and the relative density,microstructure,microhardness and tensile properties of the as-built and hot isostatic pressing(HIP)-prepared samples were *** show that the track width and penetration depth are increased with the increase in laser power,and the surface morphology is *** maximum relative density improves from 95.31%to 98.01%after HIP ***,the microstructure is refined into the lath martensite and cellular grains with the increase in input *** densification treatment,the subgrain coalescence occurs and high angle grain boundaries are *** addition,HIP process stabilizes the microhardness and enhances the tensile strength and elongation.
